UNRWA: The Gaza Strip has not received any humanitarian or commercial supplies for nearly two months.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Thursday that the Gaza Strip has not received any humanitarian or commercial supplies for nearly two months.

"Food stocks are running out. Aid remains stuck outside Gaza, ready to be transported. UNRWA and its partners have life-saving aid still waiting at the border," the agency added on its X platform account. "The border crossings must be reopened. The people of Gaza cannot wait any longer without humanitarian supplies."

Earlier today, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher called on Israel to lift the "brutal blockade" on the Gaza Strip, saying that humanitarian aid and civilian lives should not be used as bargaining chips.

In a statement, Fletcher described Israel's two-month-old denial of aid as "cruel collective punishment."

Fletcher called on the Israeli authorities to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip and allow aid into the Strip, warning that blocking aid would lead to widespread famine, deprive civilians of medicine, and strip them of dignity and hope.
