The Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Affairs Authority said on Tuesday that the conditions in Ofer prison, west of Ramallah, are tragic, and the policy of suppression of detainees' rooms is still ongoing.
The Commission explained, quoting its lawyer, that the detainees were subjected to a raid on 2/16 by units affiliated with the Prison Administration, and the raid was accompanied by assaulting the prisoners with batons and spraying gas, and many of them were injured with bruises at the time.
She pointed out that the reason for the storming was the detainees' protest by knocking on the doors, in order to demand that the administration provide treatment to one of the sick prisoners, as punishments were imposed on them because of that.
She pointed out that the detainees complain about the shortage in the quantities of food provided to them, and because of this the prisoners have lost a lot of weight.
