4 Israeli soldiers killed in landmine explosion north of Gaza Strip

The Israeli occupation army announced, on Saturday evening, the killing of four soldiers when an explosive device exploded in a military vehicle in the Beit Hanoun area, north of the Gaza Strip.

The army added that in the same incident, another soldier was seriously injured, while five others were moderately injured.

The army said the soldiers killed were: Staff Sergeant (Res.) Alexander Fedorenko, 37, from Bat Yam; Private Daniel Diyyakov, 21, from Ma'ale Adumim; Private Yahav Maayan, 19, from Modi'in, a soldier in the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Division; and Private Eliav Astikar, 19, from Ashdod, a soldier in the same battalion.

The occupation army has been continuing its military operation in the Beit Hanoun area, north of the Gaza Strip, for several weeks.

In the past week alone, various operations have killed ten Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli army says its operation in Beit Hanoun is focused on destroying the resistance's infrastructure, which poses a threat to Israel, whether through rocket fire, anti-tank fire or direct gunfire.

In recent days, several rocket launches have been detected from the northern Gaza Strip, and the IDF estimates that these attacks indicate that the resistance fighters are aware that forces are approaching the rocket launch sites.
