Former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon acknowledged the war of extermination being waged by soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip, the second such admission by Israelis this month.
Quoting the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, Ya'alon said: We are carrying out ethnic cleansing in the northern Gaza Strip. There is no longer Beit Lahia or Beit Hanoun.
This is what Haaretz newspaper confirmed in its editorial dated 11/10: “The Israeli army is carrying out an ethnic cleansing operation in the northern Gaza Strip, during which the few Palestinians who remained in the area are being forcibly displaced, homes and infrastructure are being destroyed, and wide roads are being paved in the area. The operation also includes completing the separation of the population centers in the northern Gaza Strip from the center of Gaza City.”
The newspaper based its editorial on a report by its military correspondent Yaniv Kubovich, who toured with Israeli forces there last week, concluding that "the area looks as if it has been hit by a natural disaster."
