The Lebanese army announced on Sunday that two soldiers were killed in an Israeli strike, accusing Tel Aviv of directly targeting a military site belonging to it in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army is fighting with Hezbollah.
The army said in a statement: "The Israeli enemy directly targeted an army center in the town of Mari-Hasbaya, which led to the death of one soldier and the injury of 3 others, one of whom is in critical condition."
Another statement reported that "a second soldier was killed after being injured as a result of the Israeli enemy directly targeting an army center in the town of Mari-Hasbaya."
Twelve Lebanese soldiers have been killed in Israeli strikes since the war between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah broke out in September, according to a tally by AFP based on official data.
