Knesset discusses bill to ban raising Palestinian flag

The Israeli Knesset's Ministerial Committee for Legislation will discuss next Sunday a draft law that prohibits the raising of flags of "enemy countries," including the Palestinian flag, in "state-funded or supported institutions."

Under the bill, introduced by Likud MK Nissim Vaturi, “authorities could disperse any gathering in which such flags are raised, and impose a prison sentence of up to one year, in addition to a fine of no less than NIS 10,000.”
