The news from northern Gaza is horrific, with Palestinians still suffering unspeakable horrors under a blockade imposed by Israeli forces, said Acting Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening, Musuya added that people in Jabalia are trapped under the rubble, paramedics are prevented from reaching them, and tens of thousands of Palestinians are being forcibly displaced, as basic supplies run out.
She pointed out that hospitals crowded with patients were bombed, calling for an end to these atrocities, in accordance with international humanitarian law, and the protection of civilians, the wounded, the sick, health care workers and health facilities.
She stressed the need to respect international humanitarian law, and Israel must comply with the interim orders issued by the International Court of Justice.
