The head of the Israeli Labor Union (Histadrut), Ronen Bar-David, announced on Sunday evening a general strike in labor and economic facilities on Monday, according to Hebrew media.
The strike aims to show solidarity with the families of Israeli prisoners in demanding an agreement with Hamas to return them from Gaza, especially after a number of them were killed in Israeli raids.
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted David as announcing a general strike.
