On Sunday, the new British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, stressed the need for a “clear and urgent” ceasefire in Gaza, the Palestinian Strip, where Israel killed more than 38,000 Palestinians within 9 months and turned it into rubble.
His office said in a statement, “Starmer stressed, in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the necessity of reaching a clear and urgent ceasefire in Gaza, the return of the hostages, and an immediate increase in the amount of aid to civilians.”
Starmer reiterated his condolences for the tragic loss of life following the attacks last October, he said.
