The Israeli occupation army announced in a statement that in its attack on Rafah on Sunday evening, it assassinated two leaders in the West Bank office of the Hamas movement.
It explained that the raid carried out in the Tal al-Sultan area northwest of Rafah led to the killing of Yassin Rabie, whom the army described as an official in the Hamas leadership in the West Bank, and Khaled Najjar, who it said was a senior official in the same leadership.
The statement said that the Israeli army is aware of reports that the raid and the fires it ignited “caused harm to many civilians in the area,” and added that the matter is under review.
