Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian called on Israel to "respond to the overwhelming calls of the international community, stop attacking Rafah, and make every effort to avoid a more serious humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip."
Lin Jian said that China expressed its "deep concern over Israel's plan to launch ground military operations in Rafah."
He added, "More than 200 days have passed since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The horrific humanitarian catastrophe caused by the war represents a test of the moral conscience of humanity. War and violence are not the way to solve the problem radically. They will never bring true security, and will only lead to Deepening hatred and the international community must take the necessary measures.
He said, "The urgent priority is to implement Security Council Resolution No. 2728, achieve an immediate ceasefire, ensure humanitarian relief, and return to the right track of seeking a political settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution as soon as possible."
