On Monday, US President Joe Biden made a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as part of “Washington’s efforts to prevent a large-scale Israeli military operation in the city of Rafah” in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Hebrew media.
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that the call between Biden and Netanyahu lasted about half an hour, and focused on Israeli preparations to invade Rafah.
Meanwhile, Israeli Occupation Army Radio said: “Biden and Netanyahu spoke against the backdrop of American efforts to prevent a large-scale operation in Rafah.”
There has been no immediate statement from Netanyahu's office or the White House yet about the contact details.
