Today, Friday, an Egyptian delegation arrived in Tel Aviv to continue talks on negotiations aimed at a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas.
Israeli media reported that the visit of the Egyptian delegation comes in the wake of the visit of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army and the head of the Shin Bet to Cairo last Wednesday, to discuss the negotiations file as well as the Israeli military operation in Rafah.
The Israeli war cabinet held a meeting yesterday during which it discussed resuming negotiations on a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas. The Ministerial Council for Political and Security Affairs (the expanded cabinet) is also convening to discuss the negotiations file and plans to invade Rafah.
