Washington stressed, this evening, Wednesday, that the Palestinian Authority must be “reformed and revitalized,” and the West Bank and Gaza Strip must be “unified and governed.”
The US State Department said, "Ending the conflict is a goal we share with the world, and we do not want this war to continue for one day longer than is necessary."
He stated that "an idea cannot be defeated on the battlefield, and an answer must be provided to the aspirations of the Palestinian people with the end of the conflict."
While Washington said that it "understands Israel's intention to reduce civilian casualties," it noted that "what matters are the results, as thousands of civilians have been killed."
She stated that "the Palestinian Authority is not in a position to administer Gaza, but we believe that it is a representative of the Palestinian people," adding that "the Palestinian Authority must be reformed and revitalized to move toward reunifying and governing the West Bank and Gaza Strip."
