A statement issued by the Supreme Emergency Committee of the Captive National Movement regarding the attack on Ahmed Saadat and his companions

O our brave people and people, salute steadfastness and steadfastness

The captive movement was surprised this morning by a fierce attack by the Zionist forces of repression against Raymond Prison. It targeted the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, comrade and fighter leader Ahmed Saadat, and a number of leaders of the Popular Front, under the pretext of directing cells to resist the occupation from inside prisons and having information about these cells.

We in the Supreme National Emergency Committee of the captive national movement deny these malicious accusations, and consider them flimsy and unfounded justifications behind which the occupation wants to find a cover to target the life of the leader Ahmed Saadat and his comrades.

We affirm that the Supreme National Emergency Committee is in permanent session to follow up the developments of the attack against the leaders and comrades, in order to study the necessary and appropriate steps to confront this frenzied attack and this barbaric aggression, and to put an end to the miserable attempts of the occupation to export its failure in confronting our people abroad to the prison arena by taking revenge on the prisoners. insulation.

Freedom for the prisoners, glory for the martyrs, and victory for our people

The occupation releases Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, Al-Aqsa Mosque, under conditions

The occupation stipulated that Sheikh Ikrima Sabri must attend a new investigation and not communicate with media channels, according to his lawyer, Khaled Zabarqa.

Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities released Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the condition that he attend a new investigation and not communicate with Arab media channels.

Yesterday, Sunday, the occupation intelligence summoned Sheikh Sabri for interrogation in Al-Maskubiya prison in occupied Jerusalem.

Sheikh Sabri's lawyer, Khaled Zabarqa, told reporters: "Sheikh Ikrima Sabri was released on the condition that he commit to appearing for an upcoming investigation and prevent him from communicating with 3 media channels, namely Al-Manar, Al-Aqsa and Al-Mayadeen."

The occupation authorities had previously raided Sheikh Sabri's house and summoned him for interrogation more than once, and in the past prevented him from entering Al-Aqsa for specific periods.

In statements made by Sheikh Sabri prior to being subjected to investigation, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri confirmed that the summons handed to him by the Israeli occupation and the interrogation of him for his role in supporting Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa "aims to silence mouths," stressing the need to raise the Palestinian voice to reach the whole world.

He explained that it is not the first time, as from time to time he is summoned for interrogation, on charges of "incitement" and delivering public speeches and press statements.

He pointed out that this is the policy of the occupation in dealing with the Palestinians, in an attempt to muzzle mouths and silence the Palestinian voice, adding: "We speak about our legitimate right and do not back down from it."

He called on the Palestinian masses in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the interior, to travel to Al-Aqsa Mosque and intensify the bonds in it in defense of the mosque and protecting it from the occupation’s plans.

Zabarga said that the occupation intelligence summoned Al-Aqsa preacher for interrogation this morning, against the background of his statements, activities and speeches on the mosque, Jerusalem, and national and religious constants.

He explained that the extremist Jewish groups, which have become part of the right-wing occupation government, are putting pressure on Sheikh Sabri and pursuing him, with the aim of silencing his voice defending Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and preventing his speech and statements from reaching our Palestinian people.

Sheikh Sabri (85 years) is one of the legal personalities in Jerusalem, and an important religious reference. He is the head of the Supreme Islamic Authority in the occupied city. He is active in a religious and social role, and has been persevering in exposing the occupation's plans against Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.

Zabarqa stressed that "the summoning of Sheikh Sabri indicates that the occupation police, its intelligence, the enforcement authorities, and the occupation's prosecution have adopted the point of view of the extremist Jewish groups and their incitement campaign against Al-Aqsa preacher."

He added, "Extremist groups incite Sheikh Sabri to kill, which poses a real threat to his life and health, since the incitement falls on the ears of terrorist groups that have become practicing organized terrorism against all that is Palestinian."

He pointed out that Sheikh Sabri is directly and constantly subjected to arbitrary Israeli persecution, while at the same time holding the occupation government fully responsible for his life.

The Arab League commemorates the Nakba and the Day of the Prisoner

Today, Monday, the League of Arab States commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Nakba and the Day of the Prisoner, in the presence of a number of representatives of the member states of the League, Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Egypt, and a number of official figures and heads of Arab missions and international organizations.

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said, "Today we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, this painful memory for the Palestinian people, and indeed for the Arab nation and for all the free people of the world, which recalls the terrible tragedy that befell the Palestinian people as a result of the occupation of their land and their displacement unjustly, aggression and terror by committing a series of crimes and massacres." hideous".

Aboul Gheit added, in his speech delivered by the Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories at the Arab League, Saeed Abu Ali, "In days like these in 1948, the world witnessed one of the worst and most horrific tragedies that humanity is exposed to, as more than 800,000 people were displaced." Palestinians from their villages and cities, and 531 towns and villages were completely destroyed, with the commission of ethnic cleansing crimes by Zionist gangs committing more than 70 massacres against the Palestinians, which led to the death of more than 15 thousand Palestinians during that period, while the number of Palestinian and Arab martyrs reached since the Nakba in 1948 until Today, about 100,000 martyrs as a result of the continuation of this Nakba, and its episodes continue until the present day, with the continuation of the occupation, which began in 1967, and the crimes it commits against the Palestinian people through settlement, theft of land and resources, the uprooting and displacement of the population, and the destruction of all aspects of the life of the Palestinian people, in a miserable attempt to undermine their resolve. And his insistence on taking away his rights and freedom.

He said, "The international community bears a great responsibility in the need to confront the extreme tendencies of the Israeli right-wing government, which does not miss an opportunity to ignite the situation, inflame feelings, and push matters to the brink of an abyss in the occupied territories, and rejects the two-state solution and works to undermine it through its settlement projects and storming the mosque." The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and seek to divide it temporally and spatially, and all peace-loving forces must stand together to put an end to these extremist tendencies and dangerous practices of the occupation government.

He stressed, "The crimes that have been committed and continue to be committed do not fall under the statute of limitations no matter how long it takes, and the mechanisms of international justice must be activated in prosecuting the Israeli officials for their crimes and bringing them to account, and here the responsibility lies with the International Criminal Court in the need to expedite its procedures to achieve this goal and end the stage of impunity." We also affirm that the international community, its bodies and organizations, foremost of which is the Security Council, must assume its full responsibilities in following up and implementing its decisions, doing justice to the Palestinian people, ending the Israeli occupation, and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, a member of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Head of the Refugee Department, Ahmed Abu Holi, said that the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba carries a message of affirmation that the Arab League will remain the Arab incubator to protect and defend the rights of the Palestinian people, especially the right of return of Palestinian refugees and the release of our prisoners from the Israeli occupation prisons.

Abu Houli stressed, in the speech of Palestine, that this memory was recognized by the United Nations in a Palestinian and Arab political and diplomatic victory, indicating that its commemoration in the General Assembly Hall for the first time in seven and a half decades constitutes recognition by the United Nations of the Nakba and the Palestinian tragedy that befell the Palestinian people in the year 1948, and an acknowledgment of the Palestinian narrative based on the right, that the Palestinian has been the owner of this land from time immemorial, that the occupying Jews are transients, and that the struggle of our people continues until the restoration of its legitimate rights.

Abu Houli said: "75 years have passed since the Nakba, and the Palestinian tragedy is still continuing, and our people are still looking forward to returning to their homes, to their cities and villages, to take their place among nations like the rest of the peoples of the earth, and a just solution to the Palestinian cause is still far away, as a result of Israel's insistence since its inception to reject Obedience to the resolutions of international legitimacy, some of which constituted the basis and condition for its establishment and recognition by the international community, and the continuation of its policies based on imposing the legitimacy of the fait accompli as an alternative to international legitimacy. Return and continue its racist crimes by demolishing homes, building settlements, seizing lands, Judaizing Jerusalem, and seeking to pass their scheme by imposing temporal and spatial division.

He called on the Arab, brotherly and Islamic countries, in these difficult circumstances, to continue to mobilize international support to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, to support the struggle of our people and their valiant popular resistance, and to support the International Relief Agency financially to enable it to overcome its complex financial crisis, to ensure the continuity and preservation of its services for what it represents. An embodiment of international responsibility towards the Palestinian refugees, and a living witness to the Nakba and the tragedy of the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the head of the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, Qadri Abu Bakr, called for the need to keep the issue of prisoners and detainees on the agenda of the Arab League, to give it the attention it deserves, to contribute to the development of documenting violations and crimes of their own, and to work with all concerned parties to provide protection for prisoners and detainees from Israeli oppression and injustice.

Abu Bakr stressed, in his speech, the necessity of contributing to the internationalization of the issue of prisoners and detainees, and introducing it to the whole world, with the aim of forming a supportive incubator for them and their just causes in light of the dangerous Israeli escalation.

He called for holding an international conference under the auspices of the League of Arab States, similar to the conference of the Republic of Iraq in 2012, and creating pressure on international institutions to assume their moral, humanitarian and legal responsibilities and upgrade their role to actual action.

Abu Bakr called for the media to contribute to issuing publications, studies, films and visual productions, and to give them a wider space in the Arab media to influence public opinion in a way that serves the cause of our prisoners, and the need to form a committee of Arab experts and specialists, to support the rights of prisoners and enhance their legal status as freedom fighters, and to discuss ways to support them through mechanisms. and international bodies available.

He also demanded the need to address the issue of prisoners and detainees in Arab universities within graduation projects and postgraduate research, and to include it in extracurricular activities, especially in national and Arab events related to Palestine, and to allocate scholarships in Arab universities, especially for freed prisoners and their children, and to activate the Prisoners’ Fund, which was approved by the League of Arab States conference. In Iraq, to which the sisterly Republic of Iraq contributed two million dollars, which were allocated for productive projects for the liberated prisoners.

Likewise, Abu Bakr Talib demanded the allocation of scholarships in Arab universities, especially for the freed prisoners and their children, stressing the need to activate the Prisoners Fund, which was approved at the Arab League conference in Iraq, and the Republic of Iraq contributed two million dollars to it, which was allocated for productive projects for the freed prisoners, and to help them integrate into society.

He stressed that the occupation has arrested more than a million Palestinians since 1967, and about 4,900 Palestinians are still detained in 23 prisons, detention centers and detention centers, all of which, except for "Ofer" prison, are located in the territories occupied in 1948, including 31 girls and women, 160 children and nearly 1,000 detainees. There are more than 700 prisoners suffering from various diseases, including 24 cancer patients, and the most dangerous of them today is the case of the two prisoners, Walid Daqqa, who has been detained for more than 37 years, and Asif Al-Rifai, who is still detained. There are 554 prisoners serving life sentences, in addition to the elderly.

Abu Bakr said that the Palestinian prisoners are subjected to organized crimes, their psyches and internal content are attacked, they are deprived of their most basic daily rights, they are fought by deprivation of water and food, and they are left prey to diseases that have infiltrated their bodies through medical crimes, and their families are harassed, their homes are targeted, their property is seized, and their property is deliberately humiliated while visiting their children. .

For his part, Egypt's permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Muhammad Orfi, said that commemorating the Nakba and the Palestinian Prisoner's Day in the Arab League is very important. grievance and man’s usurpation of the right of his fellow man.”

Jordan's ambassador to Egypt, its permanent representative to the Arab League, Amjad Al-Adayleh, affirmed that the commemoration of the Nakba provides certain evidence of the grievance of the Palestinian people, their adherence to their right, and the survival of their just cause, which sits at the top of international issues, and the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nations, whose solution is not relinquished. Just and comprehensive, it ends the occupation, abolishes apartheid, stops settlements, and restores the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, foremost of which is the right to self-determination and the inadmissibility of seizing land by force.

In turn, Algeria's ambassador to Egypt, its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Hamid Shabira, affirmed his country's absolute solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, calling on the international community to activate international mechanisms to protect prisoners and preserve their rights in accordance with the relevant agreements and treaties in the face of the serious violations of the occupation forces against them. .

The representative of the Office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Cairo, Sahar Al-Jubouri, confirmed that the agency is committed to providing services to refugees, but the conditions of refugees registered with it are getting worse in all five areas of operations, as there are one million refugees living on food aid and living under occupation and the ravages of repeated war. .

The event featured live testimonies from a number of prisoners' families about the conditions of their detention, the brutal and inhumane practices and torture they are subjected to during their arrest and interrogation, the policies of deliberate medical neglect, and the denial of visits, food and medicine.

Infantino visits the Palestinian territories next week

The Swiss President of the International Football Association (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, will visit the Palestinian territories next week for the first time since assuming his position, as confirmed by the President of the Palestinian Federation, Jibril Rajoub, on Monday.

Rajoub said during a press conference held at the headquarters of the city of Bethlehem that the visit, which will coincide with the Palestinians' commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, will represent an opportunity to present several sports and youth activities to commemorate the occasion and is organized by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

"The event is sporty, but it has a political significance," added the head of the Palestinian Federation.
And he added, "Our mission is to present ourselves in front of the international sports figures that we are a people with its own civilization and history... and to communicate impressions that we are capable and ready to build a democratic state, and on top of it is our sports culture."

According to Rajoub, the visit includes naming the name of the late Brazilian player Pele at Al-Khader Stadium, south of Bethlehem, and the Palestinian and Jordanian Olympic teams will play in a friendly match.

The visit of the President of FIFA is his first to the Palestinian territories since he took office, and the second for the President of the Football Federation, as he was preceded by his Swiss predecessor, Joseph Blatter.

Infantino will be accompanied on his visit, which will focus on Bethlehem (south), three members of the FIFA Council, who are the Egyptian Hani Abu Raida, the President of the Saudi Federation, Yasser Al-Mishal, and the President of the Qatar Football Association, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani.
According to the president of the Palestinian Federation, "if circumstances permit," a visit will be arranged for the international sports delegation to one of the Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank occupied by Israel since 1967.

Rajoub hoped that "this visit would be a good beginning," as it coincided with a speech by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations (on May 15) on the anniversary of the Nakba, which, according to Rajoub, "recognised the Nakba and put it on its agenda" for the first time this year.

On May 15 of each year, the Palestinians commemorate the Nakba, which occurred in 1948, when more than 760,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes during the war that followed the declaration of the establishment of the State of Israel.
And the Israelis celebrate a day before the anniversary of the founding of their state.
Palestinian sports, especially soccer, have witnessed remarkable development since Rajoub took over its administration in 2008, although he came to office from a security and political background.
These developments included the adoption by the International Federation of the Palestinian home stadium inside the West Bank within the framework of the international and Asian championships, after the Palestinian national team was replacing its home stadium in the stadiums of neighboring Arab countries.

The Jeddah negotiations between the two parties to the Sudanese conflict faltered, and the fighting continued in the capital

Ceasefire negotiations between the two warring parties in Sudan, which are being held in Jeddah, have not made "much progress," a Saudi diplomat told AFP on Monday, while fighting continues Monday in Khartoum.

Since the outbreak of the confrontations on April 15th, the Sudanese capital has been witnessing a state of chaos resulting from the battles between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, known as "Hemedti".

In response to a Saudi-American initiative, the two military commanders sent their representatives to the city of Jeddah on Saturday to hold talks that Washington and Riyadh described as "initial talks."

"The negotiations have not made much progress so far," a Saudi diplomat told AFP. He added, "A permanent ceasefire is not on the table. Each side believes that it is able to resolve the battle."

For the fourth week in a row, the five million residents of Khartoum stayed in their homes in light of the scarcity of water and food resources, amid panic and confusion from stray bullets.

"We hear the sounds of aerial bombardment coming from the market area in the city centre," a resident of southern Khartoum told AFP.

The Sudanese army stated earlier that its delegation to the negotiations "will only talk about the armistice and how to properly implement it to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid."

For its part, the United Nations and non-governmental organizations are trying, in the city of Port Sudan (east) on the Red Sea, to negotiate the delivery of aid to Khartoum and Darfur, where hospitals and humanitarian aid stores have been bombed or looted.

And on Sunday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, arrived in Jeddah with the aim of meeting representatives of the two parties to the conflict, but his role in the negotiations is not yet clear.

A spokeswoman for Griffiths said Sunday that he is seeking to discuss humanitarian issues related to Sudan.
A second UN official told AFP on Monday that Griffiths "requested to join the negotiations," noting that his request had not yet been approved.

The United Nations Human Rights Council will hold a meeting on May 11th to discuss the "impact" of the confrontations in Sudan "on human rights".

Experts believe that the war may drag on with the inability of either side to resolve it on the ground.

And the official Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday that the Saudi monarch and crown prince directed the King Salman Relief Center to "provide various humanitarian aid worth $100 million" to provide relief, humanitarian and medical assistance to the displaced.

The battles that have been going on for more than three weeks have resulted in 750 dead and 5,000 wounded, according to the data of the Armed Conflict Location and Facts (ACLED), in addition to the displacement of 335,000 people and 117,000 refugees to neighboring countries.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed that Egypt has received "since the beginning of the crisis more than 57,000 Sudanese brothers, in addition to its contribution to the evacuation of more than four thousand foreign citizens."

The United Nations reported that 30,000 Sudanese fled to Chad and 27,000 to South Sudan.

The Jeddah talks come after a series of Arab and African regional initiatives, especially by the eastern countries of the continent through the IGAD Development Organization, which did not bear fruit.

The African Union is also seeking calm between the two parties, especially as it exhausted the last cards of pressure on Sudan by suspending its membership in 2021, after Al-Burhan, supported by Daglo, carried out a military coup in which civilians were removed from power.

Experts believe that there is a discrepancy in the support of regional powers for the two parties to the conflict in Sudan, as the UAE appears to be on the side of Dagalo, in contrast to Egypt, which supports the army, while Saudi Arabia stands at the same distance from the two generals.

During an emergency meeting Sunday of the Arab foreign ministers at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, which dealt with the developments of the Sudanese file, the League's Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the negotiations between the two parties to the conflict "deserve support, and I repeat my appeal to hold on to this opportunity."

Aboul Gheit warned that the current conflict would turn into "a first round of war that would divide Sudan into rival regions and turn it into a battleground that threatens its existence."

At least eight people were killed when they were run over outside a migrant center in Texas

At least eight people were killed Sunday when an SUV ran a red light and plowed into a group of people waiting for a bus outside an immigrant reception center in Texas, police said.

Law enforcement said it was treating it as an accident for now, although a witness told AFP that the driver yelled insults at the group before speeding away.

Police spokesman Martin Sandoval told AFP the gray vehicle "ran a red light and hit multiple people" at around 8:30 am (1330 GMT) in the border town of Brownsville in the far south of the state.

He added that seven people were killed and "about ten" others were wounded. And US media reported later that a person died of his injuries in hospital.

Witness Luis Herrera, who was injured in the arm, told AFP it was "surprising".
"A woman passed a car and warned us to get off the road," he added.

"It was just a matter of moments," the 36-year-old Venezuelan said. "The killer came in the car, pointing at us and insulting us."

Herrera then described the driver as speeding with all his might.

Meanwhile, witnesses held the driver, who Sandoval said was taken to hospital, until police arrived. He has now been charged with reckless driving.

Sandoval had told a local ABC affiliate that "it is likely that other charges will be brought against him at a later time," without clarifying what these charges are.

Until late Sunday evening, the police did not identify the driver, while a press conference is expected to be held on Monday morning.

Sandoval explained that the authorities have opened an investigation into whether the accident was intentional or not.

"We are looking (into it)," he told AFP.

The victims were among a group of 25 people waiting at a bus stop, according to Victor Maldonado, executive director of Ozanam, a shelter across the street from where the accident occurred.

He described a horrific scene, as there were body parts along the street.

Madonado told AFP that the witnesses were "very shocked", adding that it was "very tough".

Maldonado added that the shelter is open 24 hours a day, where "we house people from Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, China and Ukraine - and many Venezuelans."

Sandoval indicated that at least some of the victims were immigrants, but he did not confirm whether all of them were.
"It is something we are investigating with the border police," he said.

This tragedy comes as the US authorities prepare Thursday to lift the federal measure for immigrants, which was imposed under former President Donald Trump and allows border guards to deport immigrants without even accepting their asylum applications.

The authorities fear an increase in the number of illegal immigrants entering the United States, with the expiration of this procedure.

Also, this incident occurred the day after a shooting killed at least eight people in a Texas mall, in the latest mass shooting to rock the country.

The Ministry indicated that the vast majority of these cases, which were referred to emergency departments and clinics, were simple cases that were treated and left without any complications, and did not require hospitalization.

He said, "This session comes with the completion of preparations for the commemoration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Nakba, which falls on next Monday, and will be revived for the first time in the United Nations General Assembly with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas."

He expressed his hope that this would constitute a promising start for a broad and effective international action against the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing practiced by the Israeli apartheid regime against our people.

He added, "The invasions, the expansion of settlements, and the attempt to seize the Hebron municipality building, all of these violations are nothing but a continuation of the Nakba series that extends from 1948 to the present day, and today Israel uses databases for discriminatory surveillance against us, to identify the faces of our people through checkpoints, and this is a racist measure." from first class".

In another matter, Shtayyeh said: "Yesterday, I was honored to receive the guest of Palestine, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East and the Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the world, who is visiting Palestine 58 years after the last visit by the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchs to Palestine, at the invitation of President Mahmoud Abbas." .

In another context, Shtayyeh offered condolences to the family of education and his family, Dr. Muhammad Awwad, one of the pillars of the Ministry of Education, who died yesterday in an unfortunate traffic accident.

The cabinet will discuss issues related to people with disabilities, legal aid for the poor, environmental issues, the central water station in Gaza, issues related to the protection of personal data, and combating violence against women, in addition to financial and political reports.

About 300 million shekels are the losses of the tourism and agricultural sectors in Jericho

The head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Tayseer Al-Hamidi, revealed that the losses incurred by the agricultural and tourism sectors in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, as a result of the Israeli blockade, which lasted 16 days and was lifted on Sunday, amounted to about 300 million shekels.

Al-Hamidi told Al-Quds.com: "The repeated blockade, since the beginning of this year for four times, has incurred the mainstay of the economy in Jericho, namely the tourism and agricultural sectors, with great losses, as a result of which tourist places were damaged, as well as crops, which are the two tributaries of the economy in general in Jericho."

According to Al-Hamidi, the losses of the tourism sector amounted to more than 220 million shekels, including hotels, transportation and tourist places, and about 70 million shekels for the agricultural sector, especially the watermelon and melon season.

Al-Hamidi pointed out that the siege, which lasted intermittently for about a month, had a general impact on Ariha and its economy, as people experienced many types of suffering.

Yesterday, Sunday, the Israeli occupation forces lifted the siege imposed on Jericho and the Jordan Valley, after 16 days of tightening the checkpoints at its entrances, but the barriers, iron gates, and cement cubes that the occupation forces erected are still present, and the military measures and soldiers at the checkpoints have been removed.

During the siege on Jericho, which the occupation forces imposed in whole or in part four times since the beginning of the year, following shooting operations targeting Israelis, and the subsequent siege and incursions into Jericho, especially the Aqabat Jaber camp, south of the city, nine young men were killed from the camp, and the occupation forces continue to detain the bodies of seven of them. Dozens were injured and about a hundred were arrested during these raids, forty of whom were from Aqabat Jaber camp.

A prominent drug smuggler and his family members were killed

A prominent drug smuggler was killed along with his wife and their six children as a result of an air strike that targeted their home in southern Syria on Monday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which indicated that Jordan carried out the operation, while Amman has so far refrained from commenting.

The Observatory, which is based in Britain and has a network of sources throughout Syria, reported, in a statement, that "Marai al-Ramthan and his family, consisting of his wife and six children, were killed as a result of Jordanian warplanes targeting a building containing their house in the village of al-Sha'ab in the eastern countryside of As-Suwayda" at the border with Jordan.

Al-Ramathan is considered, according to the observatory, "one of the most prominent drug dealers, including Captagon, in the region and the one responsible for smuggling it to Jordan."
There was no Jordanian comment on the raid.

This rare raid of its kind inside Syria comes after a statement issued earlier this month in Amman following a meeting that included the foreign ministers of Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which stipulated "strengthening cooperation between Syria and neighboring countries and countries affected by drug trafficking and smuggling across the Syrian border."

The statement stated that Syria "will cooperate with Jordan and Iraq in forming two separate joint political/security working groups within a month, to identify the sources of drug production and smuggling in Syria, and the parties that organize, manage and carry out smuggling operations across the borders with Jordan and Iraq, and take the necessary steps to end smuggling operations." .

The Jordanian army has been active for years in the field of thwarting the smuggling of weapons and drugs coming from the Syrian territories, especially after it turned into a platform for smuggling drugs, especially Captagon, which is manufactured in Syria, especially to the Gulf countries.

Jordan says that drug smuggling across the Jordanian-Syrian border, which extends at a distance of about 375 km, is an "organized operation" that uses drones and is protected by armed groups.

On February 17, 2022, the army announced that the Jordanian authorities had thwarted, within about 45 days, at the beginning of the same year, the entry of more than 16 million Captagon pills, equivalent to the quantity seized throughout 2021.

Syria has been the most prominent source of Captagon since before the war broke out in 2011. However, the conflict made its manufacture more popular, used and exported.

The Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are the main destination for Captagon pills, which are easy-to-manufacture drugs and classified by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime as “a type of stimulating amphetamine,” which is usually a mixture of amphetamines, caffeine, and other substances.

The Jordanian bombing on Monday comes on the heels of an accelerating Arab openness towards Damascus after 12 years of devastating conflict, and the day after the League of Arab States announced, following an extraordinary meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Cairo, the resumption of Syria's participation in its meetings, after its membership had been frozen since 2011.

Syria's return to the Arab League is a step in the right direction

Jerusalem Hadith

Jerusalem Hadith

Opinion Writer

The decision of the Arab League Council, following an extraordinary meeting held yesterday in Cairo, at the level of foreign ministers, is a step in the right direction for the return of Arab-Arab relations to their previous state and the cessation of internal disputes and conflicts, which have harmed the peoples of the region and many Arab countries, for what they left behind. Of the dead and wounded, and emigration abroad led to the death of hundreds, if not thousands, while they were on the journey of migration across the seas or land and other unsafe ways.

Also, this decision is a victory for Saudi Arabia, which is leading the Arab world towards unification and ending conflicts and conflicts, and it is the result of the Kingdom’s efforts, which affirm, day after day, that it is the leader of the Arab world, and perhaps also the Islamic one, through what it is currently doing to make the region safe and free from internal bloody conflicts and to heal the Arab wound. And the return to building a new Arab edifice, based on cooperation and resolving conflicts by peaceful means and dialogue, instead of the wars that destroyed the country and displaced the people, which led to the greed of the colonial countries and the occupying state in working to dominate the Arab region under various pretexts, including that the occupying state is not an enemy of states The Arab world, it is Iran in an attempt to create a new enemy that terrorizes the Arab countries, while the occupying state is the real enemy not only of the Palestinian people whose land it occupies and established its state on its ruins, but of all the peoples and countries of the Arab and Islamic region. It is a state that raises the slogan “From the Nile to the Euphrates is your land.” Oh Israel, according to Zionist and Biblical claims.

This decision is also a victory for Syria, which will return to the indispensable Arab embrace in order to stop the internal war, rebuild the country and contribute to restoring security and stability in the region, after the destructive wars that destroyed many Arab countries.

Likewise, the decision of the Arab League Council reaffirms that the region is on the verge of new developments, relations based on respect, cooperation and non-interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region, which will lead to finding new ways of cooperation that depend on the efforts of their countries and not to bet on countries that do not want to. By watching the Arab world prevail in unity and cooperation.

All of these current and upcoming matters are an inevitable result of the restoration of Saudi-Iranian relations with Chinese mediation, which will prevent external interference in Arab and Islamic countries, and that the region is on the verge of a new phase and developments for the benefit of Arab countries and peoples. The meeting was held to discuss the developments of the Palestinian issue and the continuous Israeli violations For the sake of our people, he affirmed, without room for doubt, that the Palestinian issue is the first Arab issue, and that the occupation will end, and our people will gain their freedom and independence sooner or later, and the occupation will leave the Palestinian land defeated.

Bumps of "Paris" and its impact on our economy

Said Sabry

Said Sabry

Opinion Writer

As for after, and after 29 years have passed since the signing of the Paris Economic Protocol, and after the economic activity managed by the Palestinian Ministry of Economy these days towards amending the lists of imported goods, and on the anniversary of its signing on 04/29/1994, I found it necessary to write my article, realizing the importance of the roles of most people Those who worked on drafting the protocol and also the people who wrote about this protocol during the past three decades.

Israel was keen to subjugate the Palestinian economy to its control in order for it to continue to enjoy the benefits and gains arising from these practices. For this purpose, it pursued two paths simultaneously: the first, isolating the Palestinian economy from the outside world, both Arab and international, and making transactions with it in the narrowest possible way. possible range. The second is to make the Palestinian economy subordinate to the Israeli economy as a direct and sole option, and its policy has not changed since the occupation of 1967 to date. Although the Israeli occupation stands behind the decline in Palestinian economic performance and the regression of development because of its complete control over lands, resources, crossings, and borders, through which it was able to perpetuate the dependence of the Palestinian economy on the occupation economy, and prevented real development within this system.

Can we make a qualitative breakthrough in the content of the protocol, which will move us to a new phase of supporting the Palestinian economy? A question that haunts observers and the Palestinian private sector, but the attempt is valuable if we succeed in achieving its goal.

Before delving into the content of the document, which has always come out as a document in the form of a protocol and this document did not reach the concept of an agreement, this document is an integral part of the Oslo Agreement and not a separate agreement, so are we now opening the doors of negotiations again with the Israeli side?

Here I stop and inquire about a group of procedural issues that govern the relationship with the joint committee:

1- Were the procedures, rules, and methodology amended to those previously used? What is the decision-making mechanism in the joint committee, as the Paris Agreement stipulated that decision-making will take place by agreement? What does agreement mean?

2- As the Paris Agreement stipulated that lists of commodities be reviewed every 6 months, will a list be submitted that will be presented and we demand its completion after 6 months?

3- What is the reference of the joint committee if the two sides do not agree, or if the Israeli side refuses to implement what was agreed upon or procrastinates... as usual?

4- Who will compensate the private sector from the expected disruption from the Israeli side and from the guarantor?

The Protocol on Economic Relations between the Government of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization stipulated the following:

import policy:

“Israel and the Palestinian Authority have an almost identical policy with regard to imports and customs. However, the Palestinian Authority can import products with tariffs different from those applied in Israel following jointly agreed procedures. In addition, the Palestinian Authority can import products from Arab countries in limited quantities Agreed. Arrangements will be made for the two authorities to jointly manage the borders in Jericho and Gaza."

Direct taxes:

The Palestinian Authority applies its own policy of imposing direct taxes, including income tax on individuals and companies, property taxes, and municipal fees. According to the policy determined by the Palestinian Authority, the two parties collect taxes in economic activities that take place in their areas. Israel transfers to the Palestinian Authority 75% From the income tax you collect from Palestinians who work in "Israel".

Indirect taxes:

The Palestinian Authority applies a value-added tax system similar to that applied in Israel. Value-added tax rates in the Palestinian Authority range between 15 and 16%.

Fuel:

Fuel prices in the autonomous area are determined on the basis of the purchase price in the autonomous area and taxes imposed on fuel in the autonomous area. The agreement stipulates that the price of fuel cannot be less than 15 percent of the official price in Israel.

As for the text of the agreement, to establish a customs envelope that includes the Palestinian and Israeli economies, which enhances the permanent, broad and unequal ties between different economies, and here in this context it will lead to the loss of customs on goods produced in Israel or those that are re-exported to Palestine, especially since the main trade deficit for Palestine is With Israel, it is on the rise, as the value of imports, according to data issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, from Israel amounted to $1.561 billion during the first half of this year, or more than half of the total imports, which amounted to $2.254 billion. We are almost equal in value added, customs and fees despite the difference in living standards, economic conditions and income rates between individuals in the two countries. In addition to bank commissions, which are almost equal between Israeli banks and their Palestinian counterparts, as well as the linkage of Palestinian economic policies and procedures with the Israeli decision, and the requirement to carry out any development programs or projects with approval and coordination with the Israeli side.

Suggestions I present to the Palestinian official authorities:

First: - The current stage begins with activating the work of the Joint Economic Committee on the right basis, so that we guarantee the foundations of the decision "the agreement", and make a guarantor reference that guarantees the commitment of the Israeli side to strictly implement the terms of the agreement. I also recommend working vigorously to start buying fuel from the surrounding Arab countries / Neighboring.

Second: Work to establish customs clearance areas to be managed by the Palestinian side, and work to establish them next to the commercial crossings with the Israeli side. And the implementation of all measures to reduce customs duties on inputs to mechanisms to ensure production of high quality and low cost.

Third: Work to activate the developmental activity in trade exchange between Palestine and the Arab countries, through supporting and activating the Palestinian-Arab economic integration initiative.

Fourth: Inviting investment through Palestinian embassies in all countries to encourage attracting Palestinians from the diaspora to participate in the development of the Palestinian economy, by encouraging them to establish new companies in industry and agriculture with local partners, with tax exemptions.

Fifth: Work to transform the Paris Protocol into an economic agreement between two states based on clear economic foundations that guarantee the Palestinians freedom of trade with abroad.

Let us work together, public and private, towards building a free and resistant Palestinian economy.

A Palestinian history full of sacrifices

Michael Rishmawi

Abu Jilda (Ahmed Hamad Al-Hamoud) and Al-Armit (Saleh Ahmed Al-Armit) These two names are mentioned in the Palestinian oral history, the day after they killed a British police officer on May 22, 1933. The stories that are told about the two heroes, Abu Jilda and Al-Armit, are similar to the stories of the “Green Hand” movement. Founded by Ahmed Tafesh, at the end of 1929, the members of this anti-British movement soon dispersed, after Ahmed Tafesh fled to Jordan, so he was arrested and handed over to the British in Palestine, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

After the First World War, which ended in 1918, family disputes occurred in Palestine. Families differed in their ways of confronting the Zionist movement, whether through fighting or through negotiations and peace. Conflicts occurred between them, marred by treachery and hostility. The most famous and prominent novels of Palestinian history in resisting the British occupation, and the Palestinian poet Haroun Hashem Rashid wrote about them in a book under the title (Abu Jilda and Al-Armit Yama Kisra Baranit).

They are two Palestinian peasants who established the nucleus of a revolutionary cell to resist the British Mandate in Palestine. Abu Jilda's roots go back to the town of Tamoun, east of Nablus, while his companion Abu Al-Armit is from the village of Bita, south of Nablus.

In the early thirties, the two began to form the first resistance movements to the British mandate in Palestine. The (Abu Jilda) movement was one of the strongest movements that caused severe damage to the Mandate forces, and it did not show mercy to the collaborating Palestinians. These were placed by Abu Jilda and his men on the side of the British and the Zionists, and dealt them severe blows in the (Jenin) area in particular, and reached their property, and to them personally.

The name of Abu Jilda was a source of terror for the British soldiers, their senior generals, and their local followers, as he was beaten and disappeared without leaving a trace, and therefore eyes were planted to follow him. Where his uncle (Salim Hassan Adili) was asked to bring him to the Al-Kashla building in Nablus for an interview according to guarantees for his release. Al-Arameet delayed his response so that he could leave, and so that he would not be betrayed and arrested. When the officers failed to woo Al-Arameet or reach Abu Jilda, they began spreading rumors. Which says that they are thieves and bandits, and people should beware of their gang, and report to the police station any evidence or information useful in reaching the leader of that gang as they called it.

According to popular oral accounts, the British Mandate recruited a Bedouin to join Abu Jilda and either kill or surrender him when the opportunity arose. And after two months of his company with them, when the revolutionaries dealt with him as one of them, this man took advantage of everyone's sleep and tried to betray Abu and flog him.

With the failure of the Bedouin in the assassination of Abu Jilda, Britain intensified its pursuit of Abu Jilda, but Abu Jilda and his companions were sufficiently aware of the danger that surrounded them, so they proceeded to constantly change their places of residence and move between the north and the south, and they found help from the peasants, and their movement increased in strength and fame, and they With several operations to resist the British and Jewish settlers.

In 1933, Saleh Al-Arameet and Ahmed Al-Mahmoud "Abu Jilda" fell into an elaborate ambush set up for them in cooperation with a relative of Abi Jilda, and Britain summoned Al-Arameet's uncle (Salim Hussein Adili) to get him and his friend Abu Jilda and those with them out of the cave in which they hid. Thus, the heroes were taken to detention, and there they remained in the Al-Mascobiyeh prison in Jerusalem, awaiting the death sentence.

In the memoirs of Najati Sidqi, a Palestinian writer and national activist, he tells us that (Al-Armit) asked his mother to bring a dagger with her on the next visit because he will put it with him in his grave, and he will slaughter the traitor who betrayed him! While the last words of Abu Jilda, who was presented to the gallows, were indifferent to the British officers, "You guys are in your thoughts... Palestine is a trust in your necks... Beware of wasting a grain of sand from the land of Palestine."

Abu Jilda and Al-Armit are still present in the popular Palestinian songs, one of which says:

Abu Jilda said, "I am Al-Tamuni... All enemies do not care about me."

Abu Jilda said: And you are Al-Aramiti.. And if I die with my palms, I will cry

Abu Jilda said, O brother Saleh. Hit don't skip and age is going

Abu Jilda said, I am Al-Armaiti... By God, I am one of the state's rulings verbally

And Abu Jilda is walking alone.. and Al-Arameet is his capital

And Abu Jaldah and Al-Armit.. Whenever they broke a headband.

Abu Jilda and Al-Arameet were from the general Palestinian people, and they felt the injustice, aggression, and settlement that might befall this people, so they defended the land in their own way, and recorded an honorable history in the struggle of the Palestinian people.

Putin and his new old war in Ukraine

Khaled Khalifa

Khaled Khalifa

Opinion Writer

We do not know the exact motives of Russian President Putin's strategy in February 2022, when he decided to invade Ukraine, his neighbor and former ally of the Soviet Union.

The attack and invasion was swift and surprising in light of international relations in which the regional conflicts led by the United States began to subside. Before that, he intervened in Chechnya and supported a military coup there, in which Ramzan Kadyrov ascended. He also intervened in Georgia and was able to install a somewhat supportive regime. He also intervened in Kazakhstan and supported his supporters who tried to overthrow Nazarbayev's successors.

As for Ukraine, it was a different strategic issue for him, as it threatened his vision of the issue of Russian national security, especially after the rise of President Zelensky, who started dialogues and rapprochement with the Europeans and the United States to enter NATO and he did not care, and the Ukrainian leaders paid attention to Putin's concerns and continued these talks in order for Ukraine to be A member of the European Union and NATO as well, Putin did not like that, who felt that his foreign policy and Russia's national and strategic national interests had been put into a corner and at stake with the new leaders in Ukraine.

And we must not forget that Putin occupied the Crimea peninsula belonging to Ukraine and annexed it to Russia in 2014, and he was also calling for the annexation of the eastern regions bordering Russia, to him, and on the twenty-fourth of February 2022, i.e. 14 months ago, Putin reached a strategic decision stating that he must invade and occupy Ukraine , under the pretext of preventing it from joining NATO, as this constitutes a security and strategic threat to the Russian Federation, in addition to the fact that the nuclear weapons that NATO possesses will be part of the Ukrainian armament system in cooperation with the United States and the Europeans, and we do not know the exact reasons for his decision that he reached, but he felt confident Rhetoric led to a decisive decision to occupy Ukraine and subjugate its political system in Kiev.

Many analysts and observers agree that he wanted to occupy all Ukrainian lands, occupy the capital Kiev through the southern cities and encircle it, and change the system of government to be subordinate to him.
Despite the influx of thousands of tanks, military aircraft and hundreds of thousands of soldiers, he was not able at first sight to reach Kiev, but rather get close to it, as that cost him heavy losses, especially from tanks that proved ineffective and ineffective in this war because the Ukrainians showed determination and courage. They were strong in the face of the Russian intervention, and they inflicted thousands of casualties on the Russian army, and they were able to destroy the materiel and equipment, especially the tanks, which proved ineffective, and although he approached Kiev, he was unable to occupy it, and his decision was not to wait and withdraw quickly, and he began to change his strategy by destroying the infrastructure, the factories. And the official institutions and army camps, and then the decision to withdraw tactically and what was later called redeployment and contentment with the annexation of areas on the eastern borders, the most important of which are the cities of Luhansk, the Donbass region, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson.

It can be said that it has become certain that despite the heavy losses incurred by the Ukrainians, which amounted to tens of thousands of dead and millions of displaced people to Europe, as their number reached 13 million out of 41 million Ukrainians, the majority of whom are women and children.

The Ukrainian government allowed Ukrainians to leave and emigrate from the country in order to avoid the danger of war and death, but it prevented men between the ages of 18 and 55 from leaving, and even forced them to participate in the war effort against Russia.

These analysts add that Putin committed another strategic war mistake when he decided to occupy Ukraine from the south and not from the northeast, as he would control the Black Sea and Ukraine's outlet to the borders with Europe, i.e. Poland and Moldova.

He also did not learn from the mistakes of the American occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the deployment of conventional military forces such as tanks, armored vehicles and armored vehicles in densely populated residential areas has become a dangerous matter and it is difficult to achieve any strategic objectives of the occupying country, and this is what the United States learned twenty years after its invasion of Afghanistan. And six years after its invasion of Iraq, and what we also see on the Palestinian scene, as Israel began to understand that its control over the areas as well as the population has become difficult to achieve.

It withdrew from Gaza unilaterally in 2003 and it is still trying desperately to control the West Bank, with armored military forces inside crowded areas in the West Bank. It can be said that the tanks have completely lost their effectiveness in this war, although Israel has 3000 tanks, but It was unable to resolve the battle with Hezbollah in the summer of 2006 and did not advance with tanks to Maroun al-Ras, 10 kilometers from the Lebanese-Israeli border, as the battle at that time was called a massacre of Israeli tanks that were destroyed by dozens and prevented from advancing into Lebanon.

Putin did not sink much in the Ukrainian mud, as he quickly concluded the military results, and after strong and fierce opposition to the Ukrainians, who began to quickly organize themselves, in terms of receiving rapid military and economic aid from the United States with European support.

That aid reached more than $45 billion in late August 2022, and it is expected to increase by many billions more. It can be said that Putin began to be affected more by the political and economic sanctions against him until he reached the conclusion that withdrawal from central Ukraine is the best way. To maintain his prestige, especially after the heavy losses incurred by the Russian army.

The Ukrainian government, in a country completely destroyed in terms of infrastructure, was able to gather forces and volunteers from the parts of the Ukrainian army, and they formed the nucleus of resistance to the Russian army.

Whatever it was, we do not know the exact reasons for the Russian withdrawal, which was affected by the Ukrainian resistance, especially in Mario Ball, Zakharova and Bokhmut. Putin's decision was decisive to withdraw to the eastern regions of Ukraine bordering Russia, where citizens of Russian origin live, and to annex them with their residents to Russia, leaving the borders The Polish-Ukrainian state is open to the state of Ukraine, and it continues to receive military and economic support from many countries that support it. In the midst of these days, many observers are waiting for the sudden spring attack of the Ukrainian forces on the Russian forces, and it is difficult to predict that this spring campaign will succeed and achieve any gains. The Ukrainians They don't want any negotiations with Putin and the Chinese government is trying to mediate that.

As for Putin, he is playing on time and does not move much in this regard except to launch severe military strikes targeting the infrastructure, to convince Zelensky's government that there is no way out but negotiations and acquiescence to Putin's demands.

As for the United States and the Biden administration, it is concerned with the continuation of the war, as it is tightening its grip on the Europeans, who fear the spread of the Russian bear, and the Ukrainians, who do not have the many means to get out of this occupation crisis.

China is competing with America for the lead

Noha Naim al-Tobasi

Noha Naim al-Tobasi

Opinion Writer

It seems that the results of the economic and trade war between China and the United States of America will be decided in favor of China. According to current global expectations, China will overtake the United States of America with an annual output of $28.6 trillion in 2030 (a trillion equals a thousand billion) compared to $26.5 trillion for the United States of America. This will turn the balance of power in the world upside down.

Like all global crises exacerbated by former US President Donald Trump, the crisis between China and the United States deepened, and tension escalated between the two countries, after years of push and pull between the two largest economic powers, when Trump decided to raise customs duties on Chinese imports by more than $200 billion. The Chinese response came by imposing customs duties on US products worth $110 billion, and this plan failed because the one who suffered from it was mainly the American citizen, and the US administration considered that China’s plan for 2025 constituted a direct threat to it, by targeting giant industries such as telecommunications and aviation. , technology, robotics, electric cars, pharmaceutical industries, and other important and sensitive industries. As a step indicative of American confusion and concern, the administration issued a decree targeting the Chinese phone giant Huawei, placing it on the list of companies prohibited from selling technology products without special permission.

The United States of America claimed that the Chinese plan for 2025 is based mainly on theft of American innovation and technology patents, explaining that the estimated losses from intellectual property theft by China range from 225 to 600 billion dollars annually.

There is a long talk about the features of the Chinese economic and trade war, but this article is an opportunity to shed light on some of the indications and expectations of this soft war, and its repercussions on our Arab and Palestinian reality. The world, economically and militarily, since World War II, will face the same fate as Britain, which was the empire on which the sun never sets, and its power shrank before the will of the peoples for freedom and independence. The defeat of the global system in which the United States is the only superpower has become imminent, and this was confirmed by Trump in one of his speeches, when he said, "Our currency is collapsing and soon the dollar will not be the global currency. It is an unprecedented defeat in 200 years, and this will distance us from our position as a power." bony".

Secondly, it seems that the expectations of the possibility of the transfer of economic weight from the west of the globe to the east of it (according to the designations of the West, which sees itself as the center of the universe) are realistic and correct expectations, especially after the unexpected strong blow, which confused the United States of America, and made it panic and panic from the Chinese dragon, When many countries recently announced their intention to use the Chinese yuan currency instead of the US dollar.

For example, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shown its openness to pricing part of its oil in the yuan currency, and this year China announced that it is for the first time importing liquefied gas from the Emirates in yuan, which is what the former US advisor to Treasury Secretary Monica Crowley warned of, when she said: “If countries decide OPEC is like Saudi Arabia selling oil in other currencies, as this would mean the collapse of the American economic system and a major disaster.

The blows to the US economy came from all fronts and directions. Brazil, which is the largest economy in Latin America, its president, Lula da Silva, announced that his country would deal in yuan in its trade with China. As for Russia, in defiance of economic sanctions, it announced its support for the use of the Chinese yuan in calculations between Russia and the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Recently, the BRICS countries announced their intention to establish a unified currency among the member states, and it will be announced at the expected summit next August in the presence of the leaders of the BRICS group, including Putin, and it is certainly a severe blow to the dollar as a currency of circulation and a global reserve without competition for decades.

The harshness of the American policy in dealing with the countries and peoples of the world has led to the growing role of China and its influence in changing the equations of the game in the global system, such as the Russian-Ukrainian war, China’s support and its successful initiative in achieving the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement, and taking positive steps to strengthen economic and diplomatic relations between Iran and the GCC countries. Gulf cooperation, and the start of talks to build a new regional security framework. This magnifies China's role more in regional issues in the Middle East, at the expense of the American role, which was and still is supportive of Israel's ambitions and aggression in the region.

On the other hand, the story of the Chinese renaissance, high will, and ambition to reach the top despite all the obstacles is an inspiring story for the world’s leaders and peoples. China, whose GDP did not exceed $361 billion in 1990, compared to the US output, which was six trillion at the time, has managed since In 2019, the difference in gross domestic product between it and the United States of America, which was seventeen times superior to it, was reduced to only one and a half times in 2018.

Although the world is looking forward to the year 2030, whether the Chinese dragon will overthrow the American eagle with a soft power strategy, or if there may be a third world war as the United States tries to protect its influence and interests in the world. And on all sides, whether the economic war or a third world war, the fear is that the oppressed countries and peoples who will pay the price of the global wars of crushing heads.

It is certain that the rise of China and the decline of US hegemony is in the interest of the peoples who have suffered from US hegemony and their absolute bias towards Israel, but benefiting from these transformations requires first and foremost the arrangement of the internal conditions of the peoples, including our Palestinian people.

A new experience and a future choice, albeit one that carries a return to pre-1957 freedom and the formation of Jordanian political parties, after decades of ban and lack of licensing.

It is clear that the new political will and decision, represented by the election and party laws, is moving towards generalization and changing the rules of the political game in our country, so that parties and elections are the criterion and tool for the individual citizen’s access to decision-making institutions.

For decades, regionalism, regionalism, and personal relations have been the means for most of the access to high official and governmental positions: 1- the House of Representatives, 2- the Senate, 3- government ministers, 4- ambassadors, 5- and perhaps general secretaries and company directors, which are the highest positions. Which provides for those who reach it status, elevation, influence, and gains, and for this, the individual in our country was moving towards strengthening his position among his family, clan, sect, diversity, or region, and he gained presence and choice, and the lack of professionalism or personal creativity made the individual empowered and persistent. Without the regional sectarian familial weighting tools.

And if the parties of the Islamic current are excluded: the Muslim Brotherhood, the leftist current: 1- the Communist Party, 2- the Democratic People’s Hashd Party, 3- the Popular Unity Party, and the nationalist current: 1- the Socialist Ba’ath Party, 2- the Progressive Ba’ath Party, who have credibility And they have a history, references, and a state of presence despite the weakness of some of them, but they have lived the experience of prevention and authorization, and they have lived since the end of the Cold War, the defeat of communism and socialism in 1990, the defeat and occupation of Iraq in 1991 and 2003, and the destruction and dismemberment of Syria since the events of the Arab Spring in 2011, and before that its participation in digging Al-Batin under the American flag, the failure of the Muslim Brotherhood movement in its management of Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco, the failure of its "revolution" in Syria and Libya, and its uniqueness in managing the Gaza Strip, these six parties are living in a state of decline and retreat, for reasons beyond their control, which led to engineering themselves by themselves as a result of dialogue and reaching To an understanding with the royal court, Adnan Abu Odeh, and with the government of Sharif Zaid in 1991-1992.

Personalities rushing to form parties, and heading towards this option as an alternative to regionalism and regionalism, in reaching decision-making institutions, so that the option that has been “engineered” and relied upon towards the birth of parties, their abundance and pluralism, because the future political decision is moving towards the parties being the title, the tool, And the option for Parliament elections and the formation of governments.

Despite the Jordanian reluctance mostly to contribute to the membership of parties, with the exception of those who were "engineered" and supported, the retreat and hesitation is due to the legacy of rejecting the parties and condemning those who participated in them and losing many of their rights, and the absence of latent gains and aspirations towards reaching the ministry, the prosecution, or notables, but the trend today will be different. About yesterday, and in the future, the parties are the tool, and for this we will find Jordanians queues in front of the parties’ offices and headquarters, because they will be the choice and the tool, towards the individual citizen’s access to the advanced government positions.

We need some time, but as long as the option is to form parties, they will succeed despite all the obstacles and gaps. Engineering is the strongest and is the available option, towards the future.

From the memory of Nakba 4 and the last Nakba and the struggle for survival

Ismail Juma Al-Rimawi

Since the occurrence of the Nakba in 1948 until this moment, the entity state is still working hard to obliterate the Palestinian identity and play in the internal arena to divide and divide the homeland by the occupier, along with killings, displacement, plundering of lands and demolitions of homes. Rather, it has now entered the stage that it feared for many years.

It is the demographic conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis, which has reached a new stage of "hidden fighting". The occupying state is now looking at this war as the most dangerous to its existence and the beginning of the dissolution of its "Zionist project" on the land of occupied Palestine, after many years in which it used the worst types of punishment, displacement and killing in the battle for existence with the Palestinians. .

Perhaps one of the most prominent plans that the occupation sought to implement to ensure the battle of existence and to maintain demographic superiority over the Palestinians and to influence the demographic situation across the Green Line and in the West Bank and Gaza Strip through many mechanisms; Including: the intensification of immigration waves, where Israel, through special immigration agencies, attracts the Jews of the world to occupied Palestine, and offers them temptations and that this country is the land of dreams, but the reality indicates the opposite, in addition to the decline in the local factors of attraction for Jews to occupied Palestine and the decline in indicators of economic well-being In comparison to previous years, there are no factors that push Jews towards occupied Palestine from European countries and the United States of America on the other hand.

And with the numbers revealed by an “Israeli” center specialized in opinion polls, which constituted a violent political, security and economic shock for the far-right occupation government and the sixth for Benjamin Netanyahu, as it showed that a third of Israelis are thinking of emigrating and leaving the occupying state and do not feel any affiliation with it, and that the survey data indicate the presence of A problem with a sense of identity, attachment and belonging to the occupied entity among the public is increasing in the Israeli entity, and this is a reality that creates a rift and division in Israeli society.

While the Israeli incitement does not stop against the Palestinians of 48 who are doing their best to preserve their Palestinian and Arab identity despite the heavy price they pay while they are struggling to survive and hold on to the national identity within their homeland, cities and villages, and they are the original inhabitants of this land, and in light of the Israeli incitement that does not stop, And multidimensional racism and forms, denial of rights and equality, stifling and incitement against them despite their obtaining Israeli citizenship, all this did not prevent them from preserving their identity and their involvement with the rest of the Palestinians in addressing major national issues.

About 1.8 million Palestinians live in their villages and towns occupied by Israel in 1948, and they represent about 20% of the population today, according to official statistics. They suffer from discriminatory and racist policies against them in the fields of lands, planning and construction. Obtaining building permits and structural plans for their towns, and there are no signs to promote a fair and participatory planning policy in the Galilee, the Triangle, and the Negev. Discrimination in interest between Arab villages and towns, encouragement of crime and criminal gangs without combating them, in addition to the high rate of poverty among Arab families, and that more than half of Arab families live below the poverty line. Israel in 1948. There are those who call them the Arabs of Israel, and there are those who call them the Palestinians of the interior, or the Arab minority in Israel, in addition to the Arabs of 48.

In addition to the tightening of the stranglehold, settlement, land confiscation, house demolitions, construction of the separation wall and settlement roads in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the difficulty of obtaining building permits, exorbitant taxes on the Palestinian residents of Jerusalem, and the transformation of the West Bank governorates into cantons and insulators with checkpoints and checkpoints, and the harassment of workers and the difficulty of obtaining them. On work permits, it makes the life of the population very difficult, in addition to what the Gaza Strip has been suffering from a continuous blockade for more than fifteen years, which has made the Strip a large prison for its residents, as there have been many wars, attacks, and the destruction that afflicted the Strip and the spread of unemployment and abject poverty, all of which the occupying power is trying to do. To make the life of the Palestinian like hell, which pushes him either to lose hope in life and the future, to leave the land and homeland, to flee and to emigrate to a more prosperous and secure country.

It is important to remember that the concept of our struggle with the occupation is on the ground, and it constitutes a fundamental axis in the struggle with the Zionist movement, and the obsession of the "demographic danger" overshadows this obsession that the occupying entity still has so that the dominant Jewish majority does not turn into a minority or a very close percentage. Of the percentage of the Palestinian Arabs, so that this entity considered the Palestinian Arabs who remained in their land as strangers in their original homeland and a great curse on the Zionist project and considered them an instinctively hostile group and a fifth column and worked to harass them and besieged them in security areas and imposed military rule on them. And trying to establish a Jewish state at the expense of confiscating Arab lands and the life and future of the Palestinian people.

The essentiality of the conflict with the occupation and restoring consideration to the Palestinian cause was and still is a step collectively to restore the rights of their owners, based on the Palestinian awareness that was characterized early on by the Zionist plan, the struggle for survival, and the struggle for land and demography. Emphasizing the right of this people to their historical land and imposing new equations in the struggle over existence, identity, belonging, and clinging to the homeland and the land, and not surrendering to the reality of the continued Israeli policy of seizing their lands and defending them to the last breath.

On the fifty-seventh anniversary of the Nakba, the crime continues

Ahmed Issa

Ahmed Issa

Opinion Writer

Days and the memory of the Palestinian Nakba, which formed and still is the main pillar upon which the Palestinian narrative is based, will come upon us. It was also the motive for the armed and unarmed Palestinian resistance, and the determination to get rid of its disastrous results is the engine of all Palestinian policies.

The noble, civilized, promising, and peaceful Palestinian people according to the standards and classifications of (civilized) nations that prevailed at the time and in accordance with the text of Article 22 of the League of Nations Charter, and accordingly contributing to the advancement of all humanity, was subjected to the most heinous continuous crimes that the twentieth century witnessed, when it was subjected to a campaign Settler colonialism by arrogant, arrogant, and arrogant Western colonial powers, during which they employed all means of settler colonialism, including genocide, ethnic cleansing, racial segregation, and displacement to establish a Zionist colony as a national home for Jews around the world.

A study of the history of the Zionist settler-colonial project in Palestine shows that there is an organic correlation between the stages of implementation of this project, or rather the strategic successes that have been achieved in creating and protecting the existence of the fruit of this project (Israel), and the transformations of the international system, which makes the project question whether the owners will achieve This project is another additional success at the expense of the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims in this current stage of the transformation of the international system?

As the international system is witnessing a state of transformation that seemed to be moving slowly in 2008, when the real estate crisis emerged in the American market, then it was followed by the global financial crisis in 2009, but this pace began to accelerate with the ascension of President Trump to power in 2016, carrying the slogan (America). First), then this pace reached its peak with the outbreak of the Russian-Atlantic war on the land of Ukraine in February 2022, where the White House is inhabited by a president who reached it in the year 2020, carrying the slogan (America’s Return), which implies an American approach to the international system. It is completely different from the approach of his predecessor, and does not rule out the outbreak of a new global war at the end of the current decade, according to Biden's national security strategy.

For its part, the Middle East region, which, since the outbreak of World War I in 1914, was one of the most prominent regional arenas, the scene of the struggle of the contending great powers over the leadership of the international system during all stages of the transformation of this system. It is still living the effects and repercussions of this decade to date.

During the First World War (1914-1918), the end of which witnessed a shift in the international system that arose after the signing of the Treaty of Westphalia, which ended the Thirty Years’ War in Europe, where the Allied Powers, led by the victorious United Kingdom in the war, dominated the leadership of the world system. The Balfour Declaration was issued in 1917 by Britain, who founded the Palestinian Nakba by calling for the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine, which was at the time part of the Ottoman Empire defeated in the war.

And with the establishment of the international organization (the League of Nations) at the time, Britain, which is dominant in the international system, was able to convert its promise in 1922 into an international document issued by the international organization under the name of the Mandate, which in turn mandated Britain to mandate Palestine and work to prepare the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine according to the text Balfour Declaration.

After the outbreak of World War II (1939-1945), a new international system emerged, known as the bipolar system. The Allies, led by the United States of America, and the Axis, led by the Soviet Union, declared the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

It should be noted here that while the world witnessed, after the end of World War II, a fierce war that raged between the two poles of the global system, known as the Cold War, the Middle East region witnessed the fiercest and bloodiest wars between the new emerging entity in the region and the countries of the region that declared at the time that they were in a state of War and hostility with this entity, and these wars, especially the war of 1967, resulted in Israel occupying what remained of Palestine (the West Bank, including East Jerusalem), which was in the hands of the Kingdom of Jordan, and the Gaza Strip, which was in the hands of Egypt, in addition to its occupation of the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula and the Syrian Golan Heights.

With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the world order known as the unipolar system arose under the leadership of the United States of America. The Arab-Israeli conflict witnessed a radical transformation, as it moved from a state of hostility, war, and armed resistance, to a state of political settlement and peace.

It is true that Egypt had signed a peace agreement with Israel in 1979, after which the latter withdrew from the Sinai Peninsula according to the conditions included in the Camp David Accords, but the pace of the settlement increased after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the hegemony of the United States of America over the world order, where the Oslo agreement was concluded in 1979. 1993, and Wadi Araba in 1994 between Israel, the Palestine Liberation Organization and the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

While the foregoing shows the case of the close connection between confirming the existence of Israel as the fruit of the Western settlement colonial project in Palestine, and the transformations of the international system, the facts on the ground prove the failure of the owners of this project to implement it and implement it according to the promise issued by Britain at the time, as it shows the course of implementation of the project for a series of retreats.

The first of these retractions was represented in the decree of the Constitution of Palestine issued by His Majesty in 1922, when Britain retracted under the weight of the refusal of the owners of the lands of this promise, in this decree to allocate historical Palestine, which includes Transjordan with Palestine as a national home for the Jews, to Mandatory Palestine, which includes Palestine. extending from the river to the sea.

The second of these retreats is represented in Partition Resolution No. 181 issued by the United Nations General Assembly in 1947, which divided Mandatory Palestine into two states, one for the Jews and the other for the Arabs, and keeping Jerusalem under international trusteeship.

Despite the Nakba with all its contents of genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass displacement carried out by Zionist gangs under British auspices at the time, and their occupation of areas larger than the Partition Resolution allocated to the Jewish state, the principle of the two-state solution called for in 2002 by President Bush Jr. and agreed upon by the entire international community The third regression represents the inability of the owners of the colonial project to establish a national home for the Jews on all of Mandatory Palestine.

In front of this fact that cannot be ignored or blinded to, in addition to a number of other facts, the most prominent of which is the demographic fact in which the number of Palestinians on the land of Mandatory Palestine has become greater than the number of Zionist colonizers, and then the reality of the ongoing transformation in the international system that seems to be proceeding in an unfavorable manner. The favor of the great powers that are partners of the Zionist movement in the making of Israel, as well as the reality of the regional transformations that are taking place against the Israeli interest, and then the reality of the disintegration and erosion that Israel is witnessing now. The ongoing Nakba, and perhaps the recent decision issued by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba in 2023 for the first time officially in the Assembly Hall as a high-level event, and the invitation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to deliver a speech on this occasion, is considered one of the most prominent indicators of that.

In the end, this article confirms that if the new international order stands on its feet, its superpowers that form its leadership will not be more Palestinian than the Palestinians, which requires the Palestinians, at least, to prevent Israel and its partners from achieving additional successes at this stage of the transformation of the system. Al-Dawli, making the required changes according to what the Almighty says in Surat Al-Ra’d: 11 {Indeed, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves}.

Australia cancels the lighting of the famous opera building

Australia has witnessed a controversy over the monarchy among its officials in the wake of the decision to cancel the lighting of the famous Sydney Opera House on the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III.

The sails of the architectural masterpiece that were established in Sydney Harbor fifty years ago are lit on important occasions such as the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, Gay Pride Day, the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and others, which did not happen on the occasion of Charles's coronation, as it remained turned off.

New South Wales Premier Chris Means announced that he had canceled a plan by his predecessor to light the building in honor of Charles, who is the head of state of Australia.

"I would dedicate this to Australia and Australians, moments of sacrifice and heroism for the country, or when there is an important international event in Sydney," Means said in a radio interview on Monday.

The state premier said the building's sails were lit 70 times last year, compared to 23 times a decade ago, at a cost of between 80,000 and 100,000 Australian dollars ($54,000 to $67,000) each time.

He told Radio 2GB in Sydney that people had many options to celebrate the coronation, including on television.

"It wasn't in Sydney, it was in London," Means said. "Of course, I respect the new king, but I am aware of where and when we should spend the taxpayers' money," he added.

Means, who belongs to the Labor Party, became premier of New South Wales on March 25, after his party won the state elections.

Means confirmed that he would not apologize to those whose decision disappointed them.

As for the Australian Prime Minister and Labor Party Chairman, Anthony Albanese, who attended the coronation, he is openly supportive of the republic.

"We are facing a surreptitious campaign for republican rule in Australia by the current government, despite the prime minister's parade in London declaring his allegiance to the king," said Philip Penwell, president of the Royal Australian Association.

Opinion polls show that many Australians want to do away with the monarchy in favor of republican rule.

A referendum on the republic is scheduled for later this year, but after another scheduled referendum on giving Indigenous peoples the constitutional right to be consulted on laws that affect them.

Luncheons and concerts following the coronation of King Charles III in Britain

Britain celebrated the coronation of King Charles III, where a concert was held at Windsor Castle, which was performed by a large number of stars and attended by about 20,000 people, in addition to millions in Britain and all over the world.

And King Charles and Queen Camilla watched from a royal room in the castle, which is located west of London, the concert that was performed by Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and the British band "Take That".

Thousands of huge screens were set up across Britain to show the concert, which was also performed by a band of 70 musicians and several choirs, while the organizers said it would also be shown in more than 100 countries.

Amid performances of music and video congratulations from an array of public figures, Prince William took to the stage to honor his father the day after he was officially crowned king.

William said his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, was "up there watching fondly at us," adding that she would be "a very proud mum."
"For more than 50 years, in every corner of the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth and around the world, he has dedicated himself to serving others, both present and future generations," the heir to the throne added.

"Dad, we are all proud of you," he continued.

Thousands of Sunday lunches and celebrations were held in the UK, with US First Lady Jill Biden taking part in a banquet outside Downing Street hosted by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for volunteers, Ukrainian refugees and youth groups.

More than 67,000 "big luncheons" and neighborhood parties were held over the coronation weekend. The last two anniversaries of Queen Elizabeth II witnessed such events.

Other members of the royal family attended the country's scheduled "big luncheons" and neighborhood parties. Prince Edward and his wife Sophie went to Cranley in Surrey (south), Princess Anne and her husband Tim Lawrence to Swindon, in the Cotswolds (west) and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to Windsor.

And the king and queen sent via Instagram "best wishes" to the participants in this huge banquet, wishing them "very happy times."

And soon, attention turned to Windsor Castle, which hosted the evening singing, which was attended by senior members of the royal family, including Prince William, his wife Kate, and two of their three children, in addition to Sunak and other dignitaries.

Earlier, William surprised fans on Long Walk in Windsor with an unannounced visit with Kate, where he had a drink with one of the royal's admiring families, before giving a speech at the concert.

The ceremony opened with a performance by arranger Pete Tong from the album "Ibiza Classics" at the personal request of the King, followed by British singer Ollie Morse and a host of other stars.

For the first time, the Royal Ballet, Royal Opera, Shakespeare Company, the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art have collaborated for a one-off joint performance.

Later, Lionel Richie performed a group of his most famous songs, and Tom Cruise, Joan Collins, singer Tom Jones and others appeared in congratulatory messages via video.

On Monday, a public holiday given specifically to mark the coronation, Britons were invited to take part in volunteer work but the royal couple did not plan any public appearances.

Saturday's religious coronation in London of Charles III was a historic day marked by the grandeur associated with major events of the monarchy.

The image of Charles, crowned, made the Sunday front page of all British newspapers, as did international newspapers.

After ascending the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Charles III was crowned on Saturday as King of the United Kingdom in Westminster Abbey during a solemn religious ceremony dating back a thousand years of history and traditions, but it was adapted to reflect the image of Britain in the twenty-first century in front of about 2,300 invitees, after which his wife was crowned. Camilla is a queen.

Surrounded by horsemen, the couple returned in a golden carriage to Buckingham Palace, then greeted the crowds from the famous balcony.

The coronation ceremony was held for the first time in 70 years, as its last version dates back to 1953 when Charles Elizabeth II's mother ascended the throne and held it until her death in September 2022 at the age of 96, after Britain's longest reign.

More than 14 million viewers watched, live on BBC, the moment the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, placed on the head of Charles III, 74, the crown of St. Edward, made of pure gold and studded with precious stones.

Their number reached 31 million to watch Princess Diana's funeral in 1997 on the BBC and ITV.

Charles, the oldest British monarch ever to be crowned, is not as popular as his mother, Elizabeth II, who died in September. Anti-monarchy protesters demonstrated in London on Saturday as the motorcade passed, and in Scotland and Wales as well.

About 15 percent of Britons believe the monarchy should be abolished.

On Saturday morning, London police arrested six leaders of the anti-monarchy "Republic" movement, including the head of the movement, Graham Smith. They were released hours later in the evening. Their arrest drew sharp criticism.

"I'm out now. Don't be fooled. The right to peaceful protest no longer exists in the UK," Smith tweeted.

In total, British police announced that they had arrested 52 protesters Saturday "on charges of disturbing public order and security and plotting to cause a public disturbance around the coronation".

Dozens of settlers led by extremist Glick storm Al-Aqsa

Today, Monday, dozens of settlers, led by the extremist Yehuda Glick, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, from the Mughrabi Gate, under heavy security from the Israeli occupation police.

According to local sources, the extremist Glick and the settlers carried out provocative tours in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa, while he provided explanations about the alleged "temple".

The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to settler incursions every day, except for Saturday and Friday, in the morning and evening periods, in an attempt to impose the temporal and spatial division.

Foreign Ministry condemns the construction of new settlement units

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation authorities' publication of tenders to build more than 1,000 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank to deepen and expand settlement.

The ministry said in a statement, "The occupation authorities have disregarded all international positions and claims, signed agreements, and resolutions of international legitimacy that call for and demand the cessation of settlement activity, as it is illegal, illegitimate, and a crime that threatens to undermine the principle of the two-state solution and the opportunity to embody the Palestinian state on the ground with East Jerusalem as its capital." in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

The ministry considered the operations of deepening and expanding settlements a blatant challenge to the will of the international community and a disregard for the American and international positions that warn of its dangers on the conflict arena, as a dangerous escalation of the situation.

And it believed that the occupying state is taking advantage of double international standards to implement more of its colonial expansion plans, and to move forward with the creeping gradual annexation of the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry also saw that Israel's continued impunity and trial for its crimes encourages it to commit more of them, especially the settlements.

The Ministry reaffirmed that halting all forms of settlement is the correct approach to restoring confidence between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, as a prelude to launching a real negotiated political process that puts an end to the Israeli escalation and leads to resolving the conflict through peaceful political means.
