Accusations of the British government not to deal seriously with the record heat wave

London - (AFP) - The British government was accused Sunday of not dealing seriously with the heat wave , which is approaching a state of emergency, with climate forecasters warning of a threat to lives.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not attend a cabinet crisis meeting held at the government headquarters on Sunday, preferring to spend the day off at his summer residence in Checkers, where he is scheduled to hold a farewell party for his friends before leaving office in September.

Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab welcomed the possibility of the temperature exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in England for the first time.

"Obviously, what we're talking about is commonsense advice (such as) drinking fluids, sheltering from the sun during the hottest times and wearing sunscreen," Raab told Sky News on Sunday.

"We have to enjoy the sunshine and we have to be flexible enough during the pressures that it will cause," he added, insisting that there was no reason to close schools during the extreme temperatures on Monday and Tuesday.

His remarks raised eyebrows, as did Johnson's failure to attend the meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office to discuss the government's response to the heat wave.

Johnson stepped down as leader of the Conservative Party, partly due to his partying during lockdowns imposed to contain the spread of Covid.

Responding to Raab's remarks, Tracy Nichols, executive director of the College of Paramedics, told Sky: "It's not like a warm, fun day when we can put on sunscreen and go out and enjoy a swim and eat lunch outside."

"It is a dangerous heat wave that could later lead to death because it is very severe," she added.

"In this country, we are not prepared for this kind of heat," she added.

In contrast to Raab's calmness, after Saturday's meeting Minister Kate Malthouse warned transport services faced "significant disruptions" during the heatwave and advised working from home if possible.

London is expected to record the highest temperatures, and Mayor Sadiq Khan advised residents not to use public transport except when "absolutely necessary".

The readiness of ambulance services was raised, while schools in the south of England decided not to open their doors.

Police urged residents to stay away from waterways after a 16-year-old boy drowned in a canal in Manchester, northwest England, on Saturday.

Britain's government's meteorological agency issued its highest heat warning, warning of a "risk of death" and attributing the heatwave to human-caused climate change.

The maximum temperature recorded in Britain was 38.7 degrees Celsius in Cambridge, in eastern England, on July 25, 2019. However, the agency expected the temperature to exceed this limit this week.

Three cargo ships carrying Ukrainian grain are on their way to the sea lane in the Black Sea

Istanbul - (AFP) - Three new cargo ships loaded with grain left Ukrainian ports on Tuesday morning, heading for the humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea, according to the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul.

"The delegations of Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations approved the movement of these ships on Tuesday. The Russian delegation was informed of it," the center told AFP.

The center in Istanbul supervises Ukrainian grain exports under an international agreement signed last July, and Russia announced its temporary withdrawal from it a few days ago.

Russia, which announced on Friday that it had suspended its "participation" in the agreement, warned Monday of the "danger" of continuing navigation in the corridor without its consent.

Moscow, which condemned the strikes by the marchers on its fleet in Crimea, demanded that Ukraine "ensure security" in the sea lane.

Turkey and the United Nations are making efforts to remove Russian objections.

"The United Nations coordinator of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Amir Abdullah, continues his talks with the countries parties to the agreement in order to resume their full participation in the center," the center said.

The Russian delegation announced on Saturday that it would no longer participate in the inspection of ships.

The center stated that despite the withdrawal of the Russian inspectors, 46 ships were inspected on Monday and can therefore cross the passage in the Red Sea in both directions.

The Turkish defense and foreign ministers held talks with their Russian counterparts, stressing the importance of this corridor for the transportation of grain.

The international agreement, which expires on November 19, aims to allow the export of Ukrainian grain to avoid a serious food crisis in Africa, in particular.

The National Bureau: Lapid's transitional government is deepening and expanding settlements

Nablus - "Jerusalem" dot com - Imad Saadeh - The National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements confirmed that the transitional occupation government headed by "Lapid" is following in the footsteps of other previous governments in deepening and expanding settlement, and the Jerusalem governorate in particular is under fierce settlement attack. The occupation authorities had reservations about officially announcing it before the US President's recent visit to the region.

In its weekly report on settlement, the office stated that the settlement sub-committee of the Civil Administration in the occupation army had announced its approval of the establishment of 816 new settlement units after it revealed the deposit of two settlement plans within a series of new settlement projects, where the committee announced the creation of the master plan. Detailed No. 2/1/225 of the “Almon” settlement established on the lands of the village of Anata on an area of 100 dunums for the establishment of 91 new settlement units, public institutions and commercial areas The village of (Al-Eizariya) on an area of 6.2 dunums for the establishment of 16 new settlement units, and for the entry into force of the detailed structural plans No. 4/2/225 for the settlement of (Ma’ale Mikhmas) established on the lands of the village (Deir Dibwan) on an area of 150.6 dunums for the establishment of 114 new settlement units. On July 24, 2020, it was announced that the settlement outpost (Neve Erez) would be transformed into a permanent settlement neighborhood. And about the entry into force of the detailed structural plans No. 2/2/205 for the "Shilo" settlement to reside on the lands of the villages of Qaryut and Jalud (in the site known as (Al-Khafash) on an area of 358 dunums to establish 534 new settlement units. The project was announced on the third of July 2021 and the entry into force of the detailed structural plans No. 2/4/2/235 for the settlement of (Talmun) established on the lands of the village of (Ras Karkar) in the site known as (Ras Abu Zaytoun, Shu’bah Theeb) on an area of 104 dunums to establish 168 new settlement units. It was announced on the 5th of August 2019.

In a new settlement project within a scheme targeting the eastern region of Jerusalem, the occupation authorities seek to confiscate about 67,000 dunums east of the city, starting from the village of Mikhmas to the east of the town of Al-Sawahra, where Israeli sources revealed a huge settlement project, in the settlement of "Mishor Adumim" east of Jerusalem, And on the road between the city and Jericho to build a huge water park and a hotel with about 1,000 rooms. This huge complex is expected to be built over the next three years, and on the agenda: a hotel, a new water park with 21 slides, six swimming pools, a theme park, an 8,000-square-meter fashion complex, a 4,000-seat amphitheater, and a restaurant complex. An investment of about 1.5 billion shekels in the new project and belongs to the Kass Group, owned by Hanush Kass, which won the tender, at a cost of 60 million. The occupation authorities also plan to build a new bridge that starts from the “Ma’ale Adumim” settlement to the town of Al-Zaim; This is to separate the settlers from the Arab places in the region.

In Jerusalem Governorate, the Israeli District Committee for Planning and Building in occupied Jerusalem also approved a plan to build 1,446 settlement units on the lands of Sur Baher, for the benefit of the Lower Canal settlement between the settlements of Givat Hamtos and Har Homa, south of the city. The "district" approved the deposit of the settlement units plan in the Lower Canal settlement for objection for a period of 60 days. Once approved, it will be returned to the "district committee" for final approval. Regarding the "lower channel" settlement, it is an Israeli government plan that was prepared at the initiative of the Israel Land Authority, and promoted very quickly. It was put to the table of the Area Planning Committee in July 2021, after the formation of the Lapid-Bennett government , and it was quickly passed. As for the area of the land to be built on, it is about 186 dunums, and half of the planned area is located behind the Green Line, and about half of it is inside it. However, its strategic location between (Givat Hamatos) and (Har Homa) makes it particularly politically problematic, as it deals a blow to the possibility of Palestinian urban contiguity in Jerusalem, and is already closing off the last remaining corridor connecting Beit Safafa and Sharafat with the rest of Jerusalem.”

Also in Jerusalem, the "Bimkom" association revealed an instruction booklet in Arabic about the procedure for settling the Palestinian lands in the city, its consequences and its serious consequences, considering the settlement an existential threat to Jerusalemites, a procedure that pushes government settlement projects and paves the way for settlement associations in the city to expand their activities and seize more Palestinian lands and real estate. .

The Ministry of Justice had recently issued an announcement about the start of the settlement of large lands in the Palestinian neighborhood of Al-Thawri (Abu Tor), and in the area south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and early on it was promoted to conduct a land settlement in Mount Scopus and Sheikh Jarrah - the French Hill, in the area that is planned In it to establish a new settlement under the name of "Givat Hashked", and in the area allocated for the expansion of the settlement of Ramot.

Everyone remembers how such operations ended in favor of the settlers and settlement associations without the knowledge of the Palestinian residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, when rights were registered in the land registry in the names of Jewish settlement associations who claimed ownership of lands before 1948, and additional land settlements were also promoted in Jabal Abu Ghneim settlement. Har Homa" next to the village of Sur Baher, and in the lands of the village of Shuafat, north of Jerusalem, in the religious Jewish settlement (Ramat Shlomo), and next to Jerusalem Airport (Atarot), where another new settlement is planned.

The Red Khan
At the same time, the issue of the displacement of the residents of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, east of occupied Jerusalem, came to the fore once again, after a settlement organization requested the Israeli Supreme Court to issue an order to evacuate the Bedouin village. The failure of the government in any plan to evacuate the Palestinian village. The Israeli newspaper "The Jerusalem Post" quoted Attorney Avi Segal, who represents Regavim in this case, as saying: "The Supreme Court must stop this circus act and issue a final ruling setting a deadline for the eviction and demolition of the illegal compound." Since 2009, the "Regavim" settler organization has been calling for the eviction of Palestinians from Al-Khan Al-Ahmar and the demolition of their homes. In 2018, the Israeli Supreme Court gave the green light to demolish Khan al-Ahmar and evict the Palestinians from it. The former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, pledged to do so, but then retracted this promise, after the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court warned that the demolition homes can be considered a war crime.

The Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate is also under massive settlement attack after the occupation authorities announced the approval of an expansion settlement plan in the “Mefuhoron” settlement, which is built on the lands of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate in the northern West Bank. The new detailed plan bears the number (2/1/212), on an area (258 dunums) of citizens' lands previously closed for military purposes.

The lands subject to the new planning are located in Financial Basin No. 2, part of the site of “Khirbet Rikubus from the lands of Beit Liqia and Beit Nuba, southwest of Ramallah.” This plan was approved at the end of June 2022, and aims to establish and legalize (251) settlement units, In addition to roads, institutions, a parking lot, a cemetery, etc. The settlement plan is still in the stage of deposit and it surrounds the settlement from its three sides (north, south and east) through the establishment of a settlement bloc in the shape of a crescent, and it will come on parts of agricultural lands of a plain nature that are grown with winter crops. What is remarkable about this plan is that it was issued by the so-called person in charge of issuing permits in the lands confiscated for military purposes, indicating that the lands subject to the new planning were seized for military purposes in accordance with Military Order No. (977) issued in 1982, but the occupation authorities worked to convert them for military purposes. purely settlement. On the twenty-fourth of this July, the occupation authorities approved a settlement plan to expand the “Dolev” settlement, northwest of Ramallah. The new plan includes the confiscation of about 280 dunums of Palestinian lands to build 364 new settlement units in the settlement, on lands belonging to the towns of Ras Karkar and Deir Ibzi in Ramallah. The scheme targets Basin No. 1 in the site known as “Madros” in the town of Ras Karkar, and Basins No. 2, 4 and 7 in the areas known as “Ain Wadi al-Mughayer”, “Al-Dora” and “Al-Wajh Al-Shami” (respectively) in the town of Deir. Ibzi, and it aims to change the use of the targeted lands to third-class residential areas (according to the Israeli definition).
On the other hand, the Israeli Supreme Court retracted a previous decision to evacuate the "Mitzpe Karamim" settlement outpost, due to its construction on private Palestinian land, northeast of Ramallah, and the demolition of buildings in this random outpost, within three years, and the Israeli Supreme Court is victorious in its decision. To the Israeli right and the settlement movement, which sought to push the judicial occupation authorities, to prevent the evacuation of the illegal outpost even in accordance with Israeli law, with the full support of Israeli government officials, including the current and former Ministers of Justice, Gideon Sa'ar and Ayelet Shaked. The settlement outpost includes at least 45 settlement units, inhabited by about 54 settler families, and built on private Palestinian land. The Israeli Minister of Security, Benny Gantz, had expressed his support for the settlers in their endeavor to overturn the Supreme Court's decision to demolish and evacuate buildings in this random outpost.

In a serious provocative step, the so-called "Central Region Commander" in the occupation army, Yehuda Fox, issued a military order to facilitate the sale of lands in the West Bank to Jewish settlers. The order allows Palestinians who want to sell their lands to settlers, to obtain a determination of inheritance from an Israeli Sharia court, instead of a Palestinian Sharia court. He claimed "Fox" that this is a protection for the Palestinian seller. The settlers demanded that the occupation army issue this military order, following the emergence of the need for a decision to restrict inheritance in land sales deals in order to prove ownership of the land. After the issuance of the military order, Knesset Member of the "Religious Zionism" bloc, Orit Struck, welcomed the issuance of the military order. It claimed that the decision represented a smart and effective response to the brutal war waged by the Palestinian Authority against Jewish land purchases.

Hadith al-Quds:: Lawyers and Justice

Law, lawyers and justice are issues that constitute the strong and large base for the stability of society with all its rights and aspirations, and lawyers in particular are the cornerstone of all this.

Without going into details and details, lawyers have recently taken broad protest steps and decided in several cases to suspend work before all courts. As a result, many citizens are harmed and many important cases are stalled.

And with our utmost respect for the law and lawyers, we call for not disrupting the judiciary or suspending work before the courts, and we demand that we search for different other ways to achieve what those who suspend work or carry out various strikes demand, and we also call on all concerned parties to carry out their duties and responsibilities, so that the voice of justice remains. High and justice remains the master of the situation, and the interest of the country and the citizen remains above all interests and demands..!!

The crisis in crossing from Jordan to Palestine!!

During the first half of this month, about 155,000 people left Jordan for Palestine. The director of the King Hussein Bridge, Colonel Raafat al-Maaytah, expected that the number of departures would rise to 300,000 by the end of this month.

The Jordanian authorities have taken several steps to confront this difficult and tiring crisis for many people, the most prominent of which is the construction of tents equipped with air conditioners and mobile hospitals with ambulances, health services and electronic procedures to regulate the names and numbers of travelers and their travel times. These are positive measures, and all appreciation should be given to those who have taken them.

In this context, we wonder why new crossings are not opened to alleviate this crisis amid this suffocating and extremely hot weather.

Opening new corridors is not a difficult matter, but it requires an agreement between the concerned parties and taking the appropriate and necessary decision, especially since the Palestinian and Jordanian peoples mix intensely, and the interdependence between them is deeper than any other similar interdependence, as it was previously, and it is now and in the future as well.

Ukraine complains about the depletion of its stock of drones

Ukraine (Agencies) - Since the beginning of the war, it was clear that the Russian forces had a massive military superiority over their Ukrainian counterparts in various traditional warfare standards, but the drones provided Kiev with an opportunity to adjust this major imbalance in the balance of power.

However, the Russian army soon remedied this loophole, focusing on striking the Ukrainian drones, which were a headache for it.

In the latest press briefing, the Russian Ministry of Defense said, on Saturday, that the number of Ukrainian drones destroyed by its forces has reached 1,600 since the outbreak of the war, according to the Russian “TASS” agency.

However, as with the rest of the information provided by the two parties to the conflict, it has not been confirmed by an independent party or recognized by the other party.

However, the American "National Interest" website, which specializes in defense and strategic affairs, says that the Ukrainian forces are already suffering from depletion of the stock of drones.

Last June, Kiev said it had received about 50 drones for the first time since the beginning of the war.

The site considered this development a sign of the decline of Ukraine's fleet of drones.

The People's Party withdraws its minister from the government and calls on her to resign

Abu Rudeineh: We are at a crossroads, and condemnations are no longer sufficient in the face of the Israeli escalation

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, said today, Thursday, that we are at a crossroads, and that the policy of denunciation, condemnation and holding responsible is no longer sufficient in the face of the dangerous Israeli escalation, which resulted in the rise of a number of martyrs within 24 hours. Last.

In a press statement, Abu Rudeineh warned against the continuation of field executions carried out by the occupation army on the orders of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, considering that this will lead the region to more tension and violence, for which the occupation government will bear full responsibility for its repercussions.

Abu Rudeineh believed that the international silence on the occupation's violations, and its failure to hold it accountable for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, encourages Bennett's government and its army to continue to sanction Palestinian blood and commit attacks against our people, their land and sanctities, and constitutes a cover and protection for the occupying state from accountability and accountability.

Gas battle between Russia and the West

Paris - (AFP) - Natural gas has become a weapon in the war between Russia and the West since Moscow's forces invaded Ukraine on February 24.

Here is a snapshot of how this feud developed:

On February 22, 2022, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the suspension of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project with Russia in response to Moscow's recognition of two separatist regions in Ukraine.

The project has always raised tensions between Berlin on the one hand, and its allies in Europe and the United States on the other, due to their fear that it will increase Germany's dependence on Russian energy supplies.

Ukraine also fears that it will lose the revenues generated by gas transportation in the event of the operation of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which delivers Russian gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea.

On February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine. Oil and gas prices rose as a result of concerns about the possibility of declining supplies.
On March 2nd, the European Union banned seven Russian banks from the SWIFT system for bank transfers.

But it excluded two major lenders closely linked to the energy sector, reflecting the dependence of several EU countries on Russian gas.

On March 8, US President Joe Biden banned Russian oil and gas imports destined for the United States. The European Union said that it will reduce its imports of Russian gas by two-thirds this year, while Britain confirmed that it will gradually stop its imports of Russian energy by the end of 2022.

On March 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin banned European customers of Russian gas from paying their bills in dollars and euros, in response to the freezing of Russia's currency reserves abroad worth about $300 billion.
And he announced that Moscow would no longer accept only payments in rubles from "unfriendly" countries, including those in the European Union.

In turn, the European Commission warned the European Union countries that making payments in rubles would constitute a violation of the international sanctions imposed on Moscow.

Washington agreed to supply Europe with 15 billion cubic meters of LNG this year.

On April 27, the Russian giant "Gazprom" group cut off gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland, in a move described by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as "blackmail".

It reported that the two countries, members of the European Union and NATO, are now getting gas from their neighbors in the European Union.

On May 21, Russia cut off gas to Finland, which refused to pay in rubles and angered Moscow with its request to join NATO.
Russia also cut off supplies to the Netherlands and Denmark in response to their refusal to pay in rubles.
On May 30, EU leaders agreed to halt most Russian oil imports by the end of the year but without imposing a ban on Russian gas.
In mid-June, Gazprom significantly reduced daily gas supplies to Germany via the Nord Stream pipeline, driving up prices.
Gazprom cut supplies several notches, citing a technical problem, in a move that came as European Union leaders prepare to grant Ukraine candidate country status to join the bloc.
On June 23, Germany moved further toward gas rationing, raising its alert level regarding supplies to the second level of a three-point scale.
On July 11, Gazprom began regular 10-day maintenance operations on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which led to a reduction in gas supplies to Europe.
A week later, the European Union signed an agreement with Azerbaijan to double gas imports from the Caspian Sea country to Europe.
The bloc, which includes 27 countries, has also resorted to oil-rich countries such as Qatar, Norway and Algeria to compensate for the energy shortage.
And on July 20, the European Commission urged member states to cut demand for natural gas by 15 percent over the coming months to ensure winter stocks.
On July 25, Gazprom announced that it would cut supplies by about 20 percent of the pipeline's capacity starting Wednesday due to a "technical problem" with a turbine.
The German government, in turn, said there was "no technical reason" for the move.

Britain condemns China's arrest of a BBC journalist during protests against Covid restrictions

London (AFP) - The British government Monday condemned Chinese police actions after the BBC reported that one of its journalists had been arrested and beaten while covering protests against COVID-19 restrictions in Shanghai.

The BBC said that Ed Lawrence, who works in China as a certified journalist, was detained for several hours during which he was assaulted and kicked by the police.

After his release, Lawrence tweeted Monday thanking his followers, and said he believed "at least one local citizen was arrested after trying to stop the police from beating me."

For his part, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly described the incident as "very disturbing".

"Freedom of media and freedom of demonstration must be respected. No country is exempt," he wrote on Twitter. "Journalists must be able to do their job without intimidation," he added.

The arrest comes as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak prepares to deliver his first major foreign policy speech later Monday, where he will discuss the need to take on UK rivals "not with great rhetoric but with strong pragmatism".

Some critics took this to mean a softer stance towards countries like China.

Security Minister Tom Tugendhat said Lawrence's arrest was "an echo of the Chinese Communist Party's repression elsewhere".

After reports of China operating undeclared police stations in foreign countries including Britain , he added, "China's attempts at state repression here in the UK remind us of the urgent need to stand up for our freedoms."

Hundreds of people took to the streets in major cities in China Sunday, in a rare protest against the country's "zero Covid" policy.

The BBC said it was "extremely concerned" after Lawrence was filmed being led away from a protest in Shanghai.

"We did not receive any official explanation or apology from the Chinese authorities, other than the claim of the officials who later released him that they arrested him for his own benefit, so that he would not contract Covid-19 in the crowd," she said.

"We do not consider this a credible explanation," she added.

China's foreign ministry said Monday that Lawrence did not identify himself as a journalist.

"Based on what we learned from the relevant Shanghai authorities, he did not identify himself as a journalist and did not voluntarily provide his press credentials," said ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.

Zhao asked international media to "follow Chinese laws and regulations while in China".

However, Reporters Without Borders also condemned Lawrence's arrest and alleged assault.

"Doctors Without Borders (MSF) stands with all those practicing fact-based journalism in China and calls on the regime to respect their right to cover the protests," she said in a tweet.

Talking about American promises has become meaningless

An attack on Russia's fleet in the Black Sea and US military aid to Kiev

Kiev (Ukraine) (AFP) - A drone attack blamed on Ukrainian forces on Saturday targeted the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea fleet, a day after the Pentagon announced new $775 million in military aid to Kiev aimed at turning the tide of fighting.

The attack took place on Saturday in Sebastopol, without causing any injuries, according to the governor of the city located in the Crimean peninsula, Mikhail Razvozgaev.

"The drone was shot down over the headquarters of the fleet, fell on the roof and caught fire," Razvozgaev said in a message via Telegram.

The accident did not cause "extreme damage" or injuries, according to what the governor said, holding the Ukrainian forces responsible for the operation.

It was the second attack targeting the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sebastopol in less than a month.

It comes after the Pentagon announced on Friday a new $775 million military aid package for Ukraine, with the aim of helping Kiev reverse the equation on the ground and restore the lands occupied by Russian forces since the invasion began on February 24.

A senior Pentagon official told reporters that the new aid includes precision missiles, anti-tank weapons, reconnaissance drones, artillery and mine-clearing equipment, which could augment Ukrainian attacks.

"You see a complete and complete lack of Russian progress on the battlefield," said the official, who requested anonymity.

This 19th package of aid since the start of the war comes at a time when the battles show the Ukrainian forces' use of precision guided weapons supplied by the allies with the aim of carrying out strikes in remote locations behind enemy lines, in addition to their destruction of dozens of weapons depots and Russian command centers since mid-June.

Recently, a Russian airport and other facilities deep in Crimea were severely damaged. This week, a weapons depot exploded about 50 kilometers (30 miles) inside the Russian province of Belgorod.

The new aid package includes HIMARS missiles, which the Ukrainians are using to strike Russian weapons depots, and air-to-surface Harm anti-radar missiles.

It also includes 15 Sky Eagle reconnaissance drones, 1,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles, 1,500 TOW missiles, and new artillery with ammunition.

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on Friday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) send a mission to Ukraine's Zaporizhia nuclear plant, the largest in Europe.

"The systematic bombing of the area of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant raises the risk of a large-scale catastrophe that could lead to radioactive contamination of vast areas," Putin warned, during a phone call with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

The two presidents stressed "the importance of sending a mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency to the nuclear plant as soon as possible, to assess the situation on the ground," according to what the Kremlin confirmed, pointing out that "the Russian side confirmed its readiness to provide all necessary support to the agency's inspectors."

At the same time, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on Russia on Friday, during a visit to Ukraine, not to cut off the Zaporizhia station, which it controls in the south of the country, from the Ukrainian electricity network, at a time when Kiev and Moscow are exchanging accusations of bombing the site.

On Thursday, Guterres considered, during a visit to the city of Lviv in western Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, that "any damage to the Zaporizhya station would be tantamount to suicide," calling once again to make the station, which is occupied by the Russian army, a "demilitarized" zone.

Zelinsky considered that "the full restoration of security" at this site "could begin after the mission begins its work."

In his daily message on Friday evening, Zelensky said that "this summer will go down in the history of many European countries as one of the most tragic ever."

Economically, the credit rating agency "Standard & Poor's" decided to raise Ukraine's credit rating on Friday, after creditors granted it a two-year exemption last week from paying off its foreign debts.

S&P Global (S&P) said in a statement that raising the external debt credit score to CCC+ reflects Ukraine's "strong international financial support commitment, coupled with dwindling foreign exchange reserves although still relatively high." ".

"As a result, the near-term risks to the government's liquidity position and, more broadly, its ability to meet its commercial debt, including in foreign currencies, appear manageable," she added.

But S&P said that the move complicates a similar decision taken by Fitch Agency, based on the assumption that the United States and the European Union will continue financing Kiev in the coming months.

A loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund could ease pressure on Ukraine.

S&P expects the country's economy to contract by 40 percent this year.

Israeli report: Hamas intensified attempts to smuggle advanced weapons across the sea

A translation by "Al-Quds" dot com - Senior officers in the Israeli Navy confirmed today, Saturday, that an increase in the efforts of the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, especially Hamas , to smuggle advanced weapons and means used to improve the accuracy of missile firing, through the southern coast of the Strip at border with Egypt.

According to a report published on the Hebrew website Ynet, many attempts have been thwarted recently with the help of an underwater smuggling detection system, and with the use of new ships.

According to the site, Hamas could have resorted to using these weapons if it joined the last round of fighting.

He pointed out that the naval vessels belonging to the 916 fleet are responsible for securing the marine arena off the shores of the Gaza Strip, and they often get into trouble with Palestinian fishermen who cross the border areas allowed for fishing, and water cannons and rubber bullets are sometimes used to disperse them, and drones are also used. For a comprehensive and safe inspection.

Months before the last operation, an acceleration in the smuggling of weapons across the sea was monitored, including advanced means for Hamas' naval commandos, and parts of other means to improve the accuracy of rocket firing.

One of the officers pointed out that what helps his forces in detecting these operations is the use of hundreds of sensors scattered on the seabed and along the new breakwater, and the use of new hornets ships to intercept any threats from the sea, which can operate in the sea for 8 hours continuously. And it helps in setting up ambushes after any intelligence information, and it sails at a speed of up to 90 km per hour, and it is equipped with a machine gun, and a new system for advanced surveillance and thermal detection even at night, and it has a length of 10 meters, and it is more stable and allows for accurate and deadly shooting.

A senior officer said, "The new Hornet is excellent, and gives soldiers maneuverability in evading threats and rapid closure of any event detected on the radar, and it also represents a rapid backup force in the event of a malfunction in an operational event."
