Actor Gatoa, the first black man to take on the role of "Doctor Who" in the famous British series

London - (AFP) - Briton Nchoti Gatoa will be the first black actor to play the role of "Doctor Who", the hero of the famous BBC science fiction series or of the same name, according to what the British TV station announced.

The 29-year-old Scotsman, who was born in Rwanda, will become the fourteenth actor to play the role of "Time Lord" ("Time Lord"), and will take over from 2023, when the series celebrates its sixtieth anniversary, succeeding British actress Jodie Whittaker, who was the first woman to be assigned the character.

In an interview with the BBC, Nchoti Gatoa described assigning the role to him a "real honor," as it is "an institution that carries a very great symbolism."

The actor, best known for his role in the series "Sex Education", said he was "very grateful" for handing him the "suitstick," and added, "I will do my best."

Doctor Who follows the adventures of its main character, an alien Time Lord, who travels through space and time in a machine that looks like a blue British police phone booth. This organism survives by being regenerated into a new form. The series premiered in 1963.

Jodie Whittaker assumed responsibility for this role in 2017 from Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, before announcing in July 2021 that she would give up the task.

Biden...a very special visit!

Written by: Attia Al-Jabarin

The observer of US President Joe Biden's visit to the Middle East finds that this visit is devoid of any political project related to a solution to the ongoing conflict in the region. Therefore, this visit is classified as a visit of a special nature and with special goals for Biden and his party. This visit comes with the approaching midterm elections for the US Congress, in which the pace of work is intensifying to win the voter's vote. Biden and his Democratic Party are experiencing an internal crisis, as they are accused by the Republican Party of not putting enough pressure and sanctions on Iran with regard to its nuclear project, and they are also accused of not being interested in strengthening relations with Israel. These two things are what pushed Biden to this visit and tour of the region in order to raise his shares and the shares of his party in the upcoming midterm elections.
Therefore, the US administration announced unprecedented support for the occupying state, which is more than four billion dollars, as well as working to increase and raise the pace of normalization and integration with the countries of the region, all of this in order for Biden and his party to win the card of the Jewish lobby and ensure that its shares are raised in the upcoming midterm elections.
This is the sole reason for this visit to "raise his and his party's shares in the midterm congressional elections." As for the Palestinian cause, which is the core of the conflict in the region, it has no share in this visit by Biden, but rather a deep marginalization, as he dealt with it as a social affairs issue in need of some material and humanitarian support.
The statements made by him regarding the conflict on this land do not exceed the microphones in which he speaks.
What hurts us and increases our wounds is that the bet among some is on America and its politicians with regard to our cause and our struggle with the occupation, because it has been proven with certainty that the bet on America and its two parties is losing.
The principle and what is required now is to withdraw the bet on America, stop all forms of dealing with it, and return the issue to its origin as an issue that the nation as a whole bears the responsibility for resolving it, the correct solution based on its belief and principle.

Study: The fourth stimulatory dose provides significant protection against Covid-19

355 detainees from the security services are being held in the occupation prisons

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs revealed today, Wednesday, that the number of prisoners and detainees from the Palestinian security services has reached 355 detainees, distributed among all the detention centers and prisons of the Israeli occupation .

In a statement, the Commission indicated that a large percentage of the prisoners and detainees of the security forces and members of the security services were sentenced to high sentences and life sentences, which were based on the principle of deterrence, because they were at the forefront of those who rose up to defend our people and confront the crimes of the occupation, specifically at the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

She explained that targeting the headquarters of the Palestinian National Authority, destroying its headquarters and institutions, and arresting its cadres, came within the policy of weakening it, and taking revenge for the honorable stand of the heroes of the security services in confronting the occupation army’s incursions into all Palestinian areas.

The Commission confirmed that the attack is still continuing on all segments of the Palestinian people, as the past few months have witnessed a large targeting of members of the security services, whether by assassination or arrest, specifically in the governorates of Nablus and Jenin, in an escalation that Israel will soon bear responsibility for, in the event of the continuation of its crimes against the Palestinian people.

The commission saluted all our male and female prisoners and their families, headed by the prisoners and detainees of the security services, who take an oath of loyalty to their people and their homeland, and that they confirm every day their adherence to the demands and freedom of their people, and that their lives and lives are sacrificed for this.

Australia announces its desire to sit around the table with China

Biden issues the first presidential pardon for convicts during his term

Washington - (AFP) - US President Joe Biden granted a presidential pardon for the first time during his term, including three convicted persons, including the first black man who worked in the ranks of the Secret Service in the White House.

Biden also announced commuting the sentences of 75 other people serving long prison terms after being convicted of non-violent drug offenses.

"America is a country of laws, second chances, redemption and rehabilitation," Biden said in a statement issued by the White House, adding that pardon is for "people who have demonstrated their commitment to rehabilitation and strive every day to give back and contribute to their communities."

Abraham Bouldin, 86, is one of the most prominent of those included in the amnesty, as he is a former member of the US Secret Service and the first African-American entrusted with the task of protecting the country's president during the administration of President John F. Kennedy.

Bouldin was accused during his work of trying to sell a copy of the Secret Service file before he was convicted after two trial sessions, despite the White House later acknowledging that key witnesses in the case admitted to lying.

The White House statement pointed out that Bouldin has always maintained his innocence, saying that he was targeted "in retaliation for exposing unprofessional and racist behavior within the US Secret Service."

He added that Bouldin won several awards in recognition of his activism and contributions to society after his release from prison.
The other two pardons went to a man and a woman convicted of drug-related offences, but who nevertheless continued to reform their lives and contribute to the community in which they live.

Biden indicated that many of the 75 commutation decisions affected people "serving home prison sentences during the Covid epidemic (...) and many of them would have received a lesser sentence if they were accused of the same crime today."

My brother, Karim Younes.... Oh, the long-distance companion

Written by: The prisoner Muhammad Agbariya

I will avoid regular writing this time... There is no place for it in these solemn moments, so I ask your excuse, because I will be with you as I am without preambles or introductions... Because prison taught me that the moment of separation is stronger than all occasions, as it mobilizes all memories at once And dreams, and all the bitterness and smiles that passed with us over the years after the years.
My brother Karim: You left us suddenly, just as we met 31 years ago suddenly in the prisons of the occupation, but the first time we hugged you and shook hands with you, but this time you left us without seeing you and without hugging. Because wires, walls, and the jailer prevented us. Perhaps because it heralds the imminent meeting of the Lord of the homeland, Palestine.
When I read the news on TV that Karim was embracing freedom after 40 years of captivity, I felt that my soul accompanied you to the prison gate. generous.
Then I remembered when you told me in my first captivity 30 years ago, that the Ahmed Jibril deal in 1985 surpassed you and surpassed the late Sami Yunus and Cousin Maher Yunus.
But I remembered how we were overwhelmed with happiness as we waited together for liberation in the Hezbollah deal in 2004, but it has bypassed us, the two of us together this time.. Then the same joy returned to us while we were awaiting release in the Shalit deal in 2011, and we used to say that the homeland does not abandon its children... but We stayed behind without losing hope at all.
The promises of the fourth batch came in 2014, and we were almost certain that we must be liberated, since the previous three batches had been completed, but strangers had betrayed us, and it was our destiny to stay together in the cell until the morning of 5/1/2023, the date of your freedom.
On the morning of this day, I stood in front of the TV to watch you walk free and proud in the streets of Ara, and I imagined you would jump with joy and say, I am on the ground... I am on the ground.
However, I couldn't help it until I got out of the car to see you.. I felt that my eyes would let me down and it would rain immediately.. So I took my eyes away from the looks of the prisoners... You know, O Karim, the prisoners' passion to see everything and know everything... So I went to the bath of the spree Let the tears of the eyes take their way towards their freedom and release them from their stronghold, for we know creation in the sense of captivity and the meaning of freedom, and we do not like to keep one captive on this earth, even if this captive is tears in the eyes... The strange thing is that my tears were a mixture between the private and the general and what between the personal and the national.
So generous, you bequeathed to me the teachings of captivity from the first day, and you bequeathed to me the teachings of confrontation and dialogue with the jailer... Generations after you have always taught that unity is the way to victory and division is the way to extinction.
Congratulations on your freedom, your honorable family, and our great Palestinian people, and mercy on the souls of your honorable parents, and the meeting is near, God willing.

WHO emergency committee meeting to assess the epidemiological situation

Geneva - (AFP) - The World Health Organization's COVID-19 Emergency Committee met Thursday to discuss whether to maintain the highest level of preparedness in the face of the pandemic, more than two years after declaring a global emergency.

The committee meets quarterly to assess the epidemiological situation and decide whether to maintain the exceptional measures. The World Health Organization did not say when the committee's decisions would be announced.

The closed meeting of experts was chaired, as usual, by Frenchman Didier Hussein.

The World Health Organization declared a state of health emergency on January 30, 2020. But it was not until World Leaders took the danger seriously that WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described for the first time on March 11, 2020 the situation as a pandemic.

"We have never been in a better position to end the global health emergency," Tedros told the committee on Thursday.
He stressed that the number of deaths reported each week is at its lowest levels recorded since the start of the pandemic, pointing out that two-thirds of the world's population has become vaccinated, including 75 percent of the medical staff and the elderly.

"But our work is not done yet," he said, adding that there was still "a huge disparity in vaccination rates". He explained that three-quarters of people living in low-income countries have not yet received a single dose of the vaccine.

He also indicated that most countries have lifted measures aimed at limiting the spread of the epidemic. He once again expressed his regret that most countries have reduced the activities of monitoring the epidemic to a large extent, which prevents experts from following up on its transformations.

As of October 13, the World Health Organization has counted more than 620 million officially confirmed infections, which is a much lower number than the reality, as is the case for recording more than 6.5 million deaths.

"Several countries in Europe are now reporting an increase in infections, hospitalizations and deaths," Tedros said. "This was to be expected because the weather is getting colder in the Northern Hemisphere and people are spending more time together indoors," he added.

A call for a strike on Wednesday at Lufthansa, with the expectation of delays and cancellations of flights

Frankfurt am Main (AFP) - One of the main unions of German airline Lufthansa on Monday called on the airline's ground staff to go on strike Wednesday in a wage dispute, announcing "delays and cancellations" of flights as the current stage is witnessing tension in European aviation circles.

The "Verdi" union issued a call to strike from Wednesday at 03:45 (01:45 GMT) until 06:00 Thursday (0400 GMT) to "increase pressure" on management in the framework of the demand for a wage increase of 9,000 percent. 5% according to what was stated in the statement.

The Lufthansa Group, the largest European air carrier, has not yet determined the repercussions of this move on travelers at a time when passengers are already suffering from long waits at airports and many flights are canceled due to a shortage of staff.

Lufthansa has so far canceled about six thousand flights this summer, while Frankfurt Airport, Germany's largest airport, intends to reduce the flight schedule "in order to improve the stability of air operations," which is under great pressure due to the summer holidays.

Wednesday's strike includes workers on the ground, especially maintenance workers, as well as drivers of aircraft towing vehicles, who are essential in operating the airport.

The union confirmed that "there will be many cancellations and delays."

"The situation at airports is worsening, and employees are under increasing pressure due to the large shortage of workers, the high inflation and the absence of any increase in wages for three years," said union official Christine Belle.

Since the lifting of health restrictions at the beginning of the year, airlines and airports have been struggling to meet the demand, which is witnessing a significant increase, after a slowdown in movement that lasted two years, during which this sector lost many of its employees.

The German aviation sector is currently suffering from a staff shortage of 7,000 people, according to a study by the IW Economic Institute released at the end of June.

Economists said at the time that "many employees searched for work in other sectors and are not currently available to work in response to the high demand."

Record decline in the value of the Indian rupee against the dollar

Bombay - (AFP) - The exchange rate of the Indian currency fell to more than 80 rupees to the dollar, for the first time on Tuesday, at a time when the dollar strengthened its position and the inflow of foreign capital abroad increased.

Bloomberg data showed that the price of the rupee reached 80.0600 against the dollar shortly after the start of trading.

The high level of inflation and interest rates in the United States, coupled with fears of an imminent economic recession in the largest economy in the world, led to a rise in the price of the dollar in recent weeks at a time when investors are trying to avoid risks.

Tightening US monetary policy has exacerbated capital outflows from emerging markets such as India, where foreign investors have pulled out a net $30.8 billion in debt and equity this year.

Data published last week showed that inflation in consumer prices in the United States recorded a new level in June, the highest in four decades, exceeding market estimates and reinforcing expectations that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates significantly next week.

In a written statement addressed to parliament on Monday, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attributed the significant decline in the rupee to external causes.

It stated that "international factors such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, high crude prices and tightening global financial conditions are the main reasons for the decline of the Indian rupee against the US dollar."

She added that, however, the Indian currency improved against the pound sterling, the Japanese yen and the euro during the year 2022.
However, the rise in crude prices led to the deterioration of the trade balance in a country that imports 80 percent of its oil needs.

India's merchandise trade deficit widened to a record $26.18 billion in June, official data revealed last week, mainly due to higher costs of importing crude and coal.

In its monthly economic review, the Finance Ministry said that the rising costs of imports would exacerbate the current account deficit and further depreciate the rupee.

Consumer price inflation in India, the world's sixth largest economy, fell slightly to 7.01 percent in June, after hitting an eight-year high of 7.79 percent in April.

However, the rise in prices remained above the target of 2 to 6 percent set by the Central Bank, despite raising interest rates in May and June.

Also, the central bank sold more than $34 billion of its foreign exchange reserves in hopes of keeping the rupee stable.

What is the benefit of American resentment towards settlement expansion?!

Jerusalem Hadith

The so-called commander of the central region in the occupation army issued a military order at the end of last year granting the Israeli Sharia courts the authority to issue arguments of inheritance for Palestinians in the West Bank, which establishes the possibilities of leaking lands to settlers without the knowledge or knowledge of the Palestinian Authority.

This military decision or order was taken at the end of last year and was kept secret until this period, and it constitutes a very dangerous facilitation for those who think or work to leak lands, and protects their names from publication and knowledge with all that that means of encouraging those who betray the land, homeland and religion.

Another dangerous settlement point revealed by the alleged Temple groups, is a plan to expand the Mughrabi Gate leading to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to enable settlers to enter in large numbers to Al-Buraq Square or what they call the Wailing, and these groups have renewed their calls to their supporters and backers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque with the widest audience, and that On the ninth of August next, on the occasion of what they call “the destruction of the Temple”..!!

Another point of extreme provocation is the occupation forces demolishing 19 houses and facilities in Jenin Governorate, and demolishing an agricultural facility of 150 square meters in the town of Qusin, west of Nablus, and demolishing or issuing demolition orders for several other facilities, in the Al-Taybeh area, west of Hebron, as well as in the village of Al-Deirat.

The Israeli government had announced its intention to confiscate 718 dunums in the West Bank to establish about 1,000 new settlement units and push Prime Minister Yair Lapid towards an expanded plan to establish more than 4,400 settlement units in Jerusalem.

These extensive settlement practices come after Lapid pledged to US President Biden during his recent visit to the region that his government does not have any settlement projects, i.e. the complete opposite of what happened, and the US administration has expressed its dissatisfaction and concern about these settlement plans, and it believes that this settlement policy thwarts The endeavors that Washington is making with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states regarding normalization and the Abraham Accords....!!

The big question is what is the benefit or value of this American resentment, and what should the American administration do when it sees the occupation disregarding all that this administration is calling for? also?!

Los Angeles auction of 1,800 Hollywood blockbusters

Valencia - (AFP) - 1,800 symbolic pieces of the most important Hollywood films will be offered for sale in an auction organized by the specialized "Propstore" company next month in Los Angeles.
The most prominent of the pieces offered in the auction, which will be held between June 21 and 24, is a model of the "X-wing" fighter that was used in special effects for the first part of the "Star Wars" series in 1977, and its value is estimated at a price ranging between 500 thousand dollars and one million dollars.
"The 'X-wing' may be the key piece that 'Star Wars' fans could want, as not only is the 'X-wing' in everyone's memory, but it was also used in an actual scene from the movie," said Chuck Costas, Vice President of Probstore.
Thanks to modern technologies, he explained to AFP, "we were able to link it to the scene in which the Red Leader was shot," the commander of the detachment under the control of Luke Skywalker who is trying to destroy the fictional "Death Star" space station in the film.
This miniature model was bought by an amateur collector some twenty years ago, and has not been seen in public since.

"A lot of the pieces come from collectors, but also from the studios themselves, or maybe they belonged to people who shot the movies at the time," Costas added.
This is the case, for example, with the Indiana Jones notebook used by the accessories executives in "Indiana Jones and the Last Cruise," valued at between $60,000 and $80,000, or the wallet carried by Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction (estimate between $30,000 and $50,000).
And for fans of the sci-fi movie "Back to the Future", the auction includes a replica of the famous "DeLorean" time travel car. This vehicle, which was used to promote the movie only, will be sold at a price estimated by Propstore between $150,000 and $200,000.

The "Hoverboard" of the character "Marty McFly" in the same movie is also being sold, with an estimated price ranging between $80,000 and $120,000.
Among the funniest pieces in the auction is the rare robotic "Gizmo" doll that was used in the filming of "Gremlins 2", and its price is estimated between $80,000 and $120,000.
The auction also includes many parts and accessories belonging to famous Hollywood films, including the hammer used by Chris Hemsworth in the movie “Thor” (estimated price between one hundred thousand dollars and 150 thousand), and the suit worn by Dan Aykroyd in the second part of the “Ghostbusters” movies (between 25 $1,000 and 35,000), Michael Keaton's pair of shoes in Tim Burton's "Batman," Elvis Presley's outfit in "It Happened at the World's Fair" ($20,000-30,000) and Will Smith's shorts in "Ali" Which is estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,500 dollars only.
"What's great about our auctions is that we have over 1,800 lots, some selling for a few hundred dollars, others for hundreds of thousands of dollars, so there's always something from your favorite movie that fits your budget," said Chuck Costas.

Gazprom intends to withdraw from the Greek "Prometheus Gas" consortium

Moscow (AFP) - " Gazprom " intends to withdraw from the Greek "Prometheus Gas" consortium, which it owns equally with the Greek "Kopelozos", which will fully acquire the share of the Russian gas giant, according to two identical sources familiar with the file, according to Agence France-Presse. .

"Gazprom's board of directors has decided to terminate its participation in Prometheus Gas SA," a source in Gazprom's management told AFP.

"It supplies Russian gas to Greece in accordance with contractual obligations," he added.

"It is a consensual divorce, caused mainly by the war in Ukraine and the European sanctions," said an official of the "Kopelozos" group in Athens, who requested anonymity.

The official stressed that the end of the partnership, which dates back to 1991, "will be decided within 15 days," and that "the current contract in effect expires in December 2027."

The Greek official stressed that the amount of Russian gas "has decreased significantly since last year, while prices have increased."

The specialized Greek press recently reported a "divorce" between "Gazprom" and "Prometheus Gas", stressing that the "Kopelozos" group will become the sole shareholder in "Prometheus Gas".

The "Monunews" news website, which specializes in financial affairs, indicated last week that it is an "expected development" given the geopolitical changes and the complete transformation of gas markets in the Balkans and Europe.

The Greek "Kopelozos" group recently made new investments in an electricity production plant and a LNG storage and regasification plant in Alexandroupolis, in northeastern Greece.

Despite its historical association with Russia, Greece, as a member state of the European Union, has supported Western sanctions imposed on Moscow since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

These sanctions resulted in a significant reduction in Russian gas supplies to Europe.

In the last quarter, Al-Shabab kept pace with its competitor, with the launches of Al-Amsi and Abdulaziz Jaber, while Al-Khadamat players Abu Rahal, Eid Al-Shaer, and Issa scored a number of points, to end for Al-Khadamat 10-14, and a total of 86-41.

At the closing ceremony, club president Adnan Issa confirmed that the tournament is held in honor of the martyr Wael, in appreciation of him and his family, as sport is part of the national struggle. Spain Championship: Real returns from afar again to snatch a fatal victory in Seville and close to the title

Madrid (AFP) - Real Madrid, the leaders from afar, returned again and snatched a fatal victory over its host Seville 3-2, after it was behind with two clean goals after 25 minutes Sunday in the thirty-second stage of the Spanish Football League. Real repeated what happened with him in the middle of the game. The week when he was on his way to bid farewell to the European Champions League competition, by falling behind by 3-0 at home against Chelsea, the English champions, in the second leg of the quarter-finals, but he came back and scored two goals (one in normal time and another after extension), to continue his career in his favorite tournament as a result of his 3-1 victory. With this dramatic victory, the Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti's team removed its Andalusian host after it became 15 points away from it and its arch-rivals Barcelona, who played two games less.

And the royal club came close to regaining the title from its neighbor, Atletico Madrid, eight stages before the end of the season. The second narrowed the difference through Brazilian substitute Rodrigo, then snatched the equalizer a few minutes before the end, thanks to the other substitute Nacho, before the return was completed with the goal of French Karim Benzema in the second minute of stoppage time. It passed by the right post of Belgian Thibaut Courtois (9).

Seville did not wait long to reach Courtois' net from a wonderful free kick executed by Croatian Ivan Rakitic to the right of the Belgian goalkeeper, who did not move a finger (20). On the left side of the penalty area, Korota went out to block him, but the ball fell in front of Argentine Eric Lamela, who followed it into the net (25). According to “Opta” statistics, this is the first time that Real has fallen behind with two clean goals outside its stadium after 25 minutes since September 2018. Against Seville in particular, when he ended the match losing 3-0, led by the current Seville coach, Julen Lopetegui. Benzema, who manipulated the defense on the left side, crossed before shooting from a narrow angle, but the ball went over the Moroccan goalkeeper Yassin Bounou (44).

Real returned to the meeting at the beginning of the second half when substitute Rodrigo succeeded in reducing the difference after a cross from the left through Dani Carvajal after exchanging the ball with the other Brazilian Vinicius Junior (50). The other Brazilian Diego Militao was close to equalizing with a wonderful goal from a shot he fired from Almost 40 meters, but Bono excelled in saving his team (53). Real closed in on his host and besieged him in his area until Vinicius Junior succeeded in equalizing after the ball reached him from the right side through Lucas Vasquez (74). The referee appealed to "VAR" to confirm The goal was correct, then he decided to cancel it, considering that the Brazilian controlled the ball with his hand. But substitute Nacho compensated for that with a goal a few seconds after he entered instead of Lucas Vasquez, following a cross from Carvajal (83).

And when the match was taking its last breath, Benzema snatched his twenty-fifth goal in the league this season after a pass from Rodrigo (2 + 90), giving his team the three points and inflicting his first defeat on Seville in his stronghold this season. And at the “Wanda Metropolitano” stadium, the Belgian substitute Yannick returned Carrasco led his team, Atletico Madrid, to the winning streak in a very important period of the season, by scoring

Double fatal victory over the guest Espanyol 2-1.

Argentine coach Diego Simeone's team seemed destined to settle for a draw and fail to win the fourth match in a row locally and continually, before Carrasco said his word from a penalty kick in the tenth minute of stoppage time, after the Belgian substitute had also scored the goal of progress in the match that his team completed with ten players. With this victory, Simeone's team, coming from a loss in the last stage against Real Mallorca, 0-1, followed by an exit from the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with a 0-0 draw at home with English Manchester City (losing the first leg, 0-1), from Betis's draw with Sociedad (zero-zero) Friday at the opening of the stage to move away in the last fourth place to qualify for the Champions League.

The capital team raised its score to 58 points in fourth place, three points ahead of Betis and five against Sociedad, and the same distance from Barcelona II, which concludes the stage Monday against Cadiz. Atletico continued its sterile performance by failing to reach the net during the first half of its last four matches, with An orphan attempt on goal in all the first four innings.

But Carrasco, who entered instead of Portuguese Joao Felix, hit at the start of the second half after a pass from the other Brazilian substitute, Matteo Cunha (51). He received another blow after the Catalan guest equalized from a free kick by Raul de Thomas, and the ball bounced off the post and into the net of Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak (74).

After that, Simeone's men were unable to regain the lead in light of the numerical superiority of the Catalan guest, until the tenth minute of stoppage time when Carrasco successfully executed a penalty kick caused by De Thomas by touching the ball with his hand in the forbidden area, depriving his team of its fortieth point and moving away by 12 points from the area. Relegation. Carrasco stressed, "It was a very important match for us, and when you score from the last shot in the match, it increases the importance of achieving our goals for this season." , and Seville in the 37th stage, in addition to away matches against Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao and Elche.

From Kahane to Kahane, the kingdom of Israel is born and established

The Hebrew press witnessed the statement of the Israeli Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, a member of the "Yamina" party, Knesset member Matan Kahane, which he made last Monday, in front of high school students in the "Efrat" settlement, in which he declared publicly that: "If only there was a button You can press it and hide all the Arabs from here and send them by express train to Switzerland so that they can live an amazing life there. I would have pressed this button.” It is not enough to describe this statement with its horrific racism and rudeness. He, moreover, undoubtedly belongs to the world of fascist thought, and it suffices us to stop at the sight of the trains, which Deputy Minister Kahane proposes, as a means of transporting the Arabs from their homeland and throwing them there in the cold of Europe.

It was satisfied with the few Jews who referred to these statements as “unfortunate” or that they were just a setback that should not have happened. On the other hand, some Arabs interpreted it as “historical normality.” This is what Israel has been since its establishment until our days. While other Arabs challenged her lightly, and the tongue of their condition says: "The highest of your horse, O Matan, ride... We are here, and we will not deviate from our homeland." As for the members of the United Islamic List and their Arab colleagues in the Zionist parties, which support the Bennett-Shaked government, and they are the leaders of the Matan Kahane party, they remained loyal to this government and swallowed those slanders and creeds, just as they swallowed what came before it, and they will swallow what follows it.

In my view, nothing is more dangerous than confronting these and similar statements, which we have begun to hear from several Israeli leadership, official and military bodies, with alarming and dangerous frequency, as if they were natural phenomena that do not require us, the Arab citizens of Israel, a great deal of serious anticipation, and actual action before our columns line up on Station platforms are littered with trains ready to take us to the nearby border, not necessarily to Switzerland.

Deputy Minister Kahane's aforementioned statement may be the most prominent and dangerous thing in his speech to the students, because it reveals what he and his partners are obsessed with achieving their "final solution" and purging the Land of Israel from the Arabs. And while that disclosure remains provocative in itself, it will become more dangerous if we put it within the context of the entire discourse. Then we will verify the extent of its actual seriousness and that it is an indication of the nature of the changes that took place within the new religious Zionist thought. Today, unlike years ago, Israel leads a group of parties and movements whose ideas permeate all aspects of the state and control the policy of Israeli institutions that aim to establish the awaited kingdom and build its great structure, which is no longer the source of the nation’s metaphorical inspiration only, but has become the tree of the end and the embodiment of God’s promise to the people God's chosen one.

Matan Kahane tried to convince the students of the futility of the two-state solution, stressing that "there are those who believe that if we retreat to the 1967 borders, peace will come, and there will be two states living side by side, and everything will be fine," then he added, with a recorded voice and image: "I don't believe it; right-wingers, in general, don't. They kicked us out of here two thousand years ago and waited for the opportunity to come back to our own country; we believe that God gave us this country, and no one has the right to tell us we don't have everything here." ". However, he added, "The Arabs have another story that they tell themselves, and we know that it is just polemics and it is not true.. Therefore, I believe that there is no possibility of peace...". He said it and moved on to borrow the push of a button and transport the Arabs by train to Switzerland.

Many leaders of political parties, movements, and state institutions repeat what Deputy Minister Kahane said. Indeed, we have begun to hear, openly, such words from some leaders of the Israeli occupation army. We talked about what General Uzi Dayan said about a month ago. Today, after the settler militias and right-wing brigades stormed the Jerusalem neighborhoods during the celebrations of the so-called "Israeli Flag Day", the words of Major General Reserve Gershon Hacohen, who, in his response to an assessment of the issue of relative calm that ended with the events of that day, came to my attention on Channel 13. The Israeli: "We are dealing with an internal Israeli issue. The Temple Mount is the source of all the inspiration for the Zionist project." Then he clarified that the issue does not stop at one wall, rather it is what we want from the Temple Mount, which should really move us, “I do not care that we be like the state of Denmark so that we can live another day of calm. There is a minority among us that is what matters to it, and it behaves as if it is a majority. But what should move us is what is the basis of the Zionist project that was put in place for Israel's salvation, and this is more than just a prosperous state."

This general, like many others who preceded him in the same sense, did not hide his indifference to achieving calm and peace among the people, nor to Israel being like one of the “boring and dirty” Scandinavian countries. With salvation whose source and engine was the Temple Mount. This is how the generals speak in a time of reconciliations and sorrows, calmly and decisively, and they preach as if they were biblical leaders and inheritors of Joshua and the prophets, and they stand on the hills of Beit-El, Jericho, Hebron, and Jerusalem , with all the Kahanist politicians, and pray for the fulfillment of their dreams and the exaltation of their banners and guns.

It is a dangerous and new scene that we have not experienced before; And to all those who will hasten to open the pages of our history to convince us that we stand at the same edge, I say: Like you, I remember very well all the racists who described Arab citizens as “cockroaches rushing into the neck of a bottle,” or that they were nothing but a “cancer that wreaks havoc in the body of the state,” and so on. Sayings full of obvious racism and fascism. Like you, I do not forget how much our fathers suffered and faced policies of racial oppression and persecution, in circumstances in which we always felt that official Israel did not like our survival on our land, so it continued to lay plans to besiege us, domesticate us, and tighten the screws on us, so that their neighbors did not rule out our displacement. Likewise, I do not forget the atrocities of the occupation against the residents of the territories that were occupied in 1967, and how the brutality of this occupation increased with each passing year.

We did not and will not forget this biography; Despite the screams of pain and the sighing of blood, the differences between the eras must remain visible before us. The idea of getting rid of us as one group has today become accepted by the majority of the Jewish community, and its echoes are heard in all the corridors and corridors of the state.

The Israeli policy produced a number of fierce extremists who raised fascist slogans and tried to harm the Palestinian citizens, inside Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories, but we also know how some state institutions and large sectors of the people confronted them and fought them to a large extent. It may help us to evoke, in this haste, the story of the “original Kahana,” that bloody, racist rapper, who preceded all the Kahanists and established, before them, the jurisprudence of the “iron fist,” which he adopted as a slogan for the banner of his party, “Kach” (so), because he was convinced that the Arabs do not They only understand the language of force and brutality.
That racist, whose name was also Meir Kahane, preceded Deputy Minister Matan Kahane by three decades; We can, if we go back to reading the history and ideas of his movement, stand on how Israel changed between the ages of these two priests; And how Israel was a racist state with institutions and an army, and it became a rogue entity abounding with its fascist brigades.
The first Kahane, an American Jewish citizen, began his activity in America and then moved to Israel to establish several racist movements that ended in the early seventies with the establishment of a racist party based on the literal teachings of the Torah, which he called "Kach". His party ran in the 1973 Knesset elections, but failed to cross the threshold. He continued his provocations against the Arabs and his attempts to enter the Knesset, where he succeeded in doing so in 1984, and his central slogan at that time was "Give me the strength to teach them/heal them." It is noteworthy that the Central Elections Commission decided to delete his list, but the Israeli Supreme Court authorized it in the name of democracy. Then his bloody incitement campaigns against the Arabs escalated from the Knesset until the 1988 elections came, so the Central Elections Committee decided to delete his list, and likewise the Supreme Court did in a decision describing him as a bloody racist and as sowing discord among the citizens of the one state. Thousands of Jewish and Arab citizens have repeatedly demonstrated against him and stubbornly resisted him; Many have likened his legislative proposals to the Nazi Nuremberg Laws. The era of Meir Kahane came to an end with his murder on November 5, 1990, in New York City, after he was shot while addressing a crowd of Jews to persuade them to emigrate to Israel.

But..
How do the narrators differ on the words of light in a stone? It was the wisdom of our poet, Mahmoud Darwish. But we did not pay attention to it, when a priest was killed, "Israel" did not die, but rather its sky rained down on us with armies of priestesses who multiply among us and fight in the name of everything "my God, biblical and for their salvation that is built on stones and a temple" and because they believe and know that "from a stone of poor light shines wars.

Draghi in Algeria to increase gas supplies to Italy

Algeria - (AFP) - Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi chaired Monday in Algiers with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who was received by the fourth Algerian-Italian summit, which constituted an opportunity to sign several agreements, especially to increase Algerian gas supplies to Rome.

The summit, which was attended by six Italian ministers and the Italian prime minister, aims to "confirm the distinguished partnership in the energy sector" between the two countries, according to Draghi's office.

Tebboune and Draghi signed a number of agreements on issues of the judiciary, small enterprises, startups, and cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, and sustainable development.

Algeria, which enjoys special relations with Italy , has become its "main supplier of gas in recent months," after Russia overtook it for a long time, as 45% of Italian gas imports were from Russia, according to what Draghi confirmed in an interview with the media, along with Tebboune.

Several countries have looked to Algeria to reduce their dependence on Russia since the beginning of its invasion of Ukraine in late February.

For his part, Tebboune announced the signing "tomorrow (Tuesday) of an important agreement between (the American) Occidental (the American) and (the Italian group) Eni and (the French) Total, which will enable the supply of large (additional) quantities of gas to Italy."

And the Algerian News Agency announced on Friday that Algeria will deliver about 4 billion additional cubic meters of Algerian gas to Italy, starting this week.

Since the beginning of the year, Algeria has sent Italy 13.9 billion cubic meters of gas, 113% more than the expected quantities. It expects to supply it with an additional six billion cubic meters by the end of the year, according to APS.

Eni, present in Algeria since 1981, runs with the giant Algerian company "Sonatrach" the "Transmed" pipeline that connects Algeria with Italy, via Tunisia. It has an annual capacity of 32 billion cubic meters of natural gas. "Algeria exports 22 billion cubic meters through the Transmed pipeline," expert Abdelmadjid Attar, former Algerian Minister of the Environment, told AFP in April, leaving the possibility of exporting an additional 10 billion cubic meters.

Draghi had announced, during his last visit to Algeria in April, an agreement to increase gas shipments that Algeria exports, but he did not give any figures at the time.

And the “Eni” group had indicated in April that this agreement would use “the transportation capabilities of the (Transmed) pipeline to secure greater flexibility in energy supplies and the gradual supply of increasing volumes of gas from 2022, (in order to reach) 9 billion.” (additional) cubic meters of gas annually in 2023-2024.
The gas contract between the two countries was renewed in May 2019 for eight years until 2027, in addition to an additional two optional years.

Professional league and finals controversy

* Dr. Rafi Asfour
At the outset, I congratulate the Palestinian Football Association for the efforts made to bring the league to safety, despite the circumstances in which the Palestinian territories live, and I congratulate the champion clubs and the clubs that remained within the ranks of the Palestinian Professional League, but the time has come to turn the page on buying matches, which is the controversial issue that arises at the end of each league. .

Here I offer a solution to the Palestinian Football Association to get out of the renewed crisis in each league so that the unremitting efforts that are being made to bring out the league in the best way and image are not lost, and that we put an end to the trolls in troubled water, and to the weak-minded who waste these efforts.
And here is why the federation does not organize a league for the golden square and a square for the bottom four teams, and by this we increase the number of matches played by each club that graduates us a true champion and increases the opportunity to compete for the title, and thus the level rises due to the increase in the number of matches and the increase in the playing period leads to an increase in the clubs’ readiness period, This is a modern method adopted by most world championships in order to raise the level of clubs.

And the clubs must play a large number of matches, and on the other hand, there is honest competition in the relegation box, so there are no conspiracies or buying matches, because everyone needs every point and those who deserve to be relegated are relegated without injustice to anyone.
This is my opinion, and I hope that my proposal will be accepted. My goal is for the Palestinian sport to be at its best.

Harry, Meghan and Andrew will miss the Queen's enthronement ceremonies

London - (AFP) - Queen Elizabeth II's son Prince Andrew, her grandson Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will be absent from the balcony of Buckingham Palace during a military parade that will launch early next month the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne.

The 96-year-old queen decided to limit the attendance to members of the royal family in the official appearance, after a military parade to be organized to celebrate her birthday.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement Friday that the people who will appear alongside the Queen on the balcony on June 2 are only "members of the royal family who carry out official duties on her behalf."

He added that the decision was taken "after careful consideration".

Speculation had been that the three individuals might attend the event, which spans four days of celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, including tea parties, a pop concert and a public performance in central London.

In March, Prince Andrew (62 years) appeared for the first time since he settled a lawsuit filed by an American woman against him for sexual assault, after public outcry over his friendship with the American financial expert Jeffrey Epstein, who is accused of multiple sexual assaults.

Queen Elizabeth arrived at the memorial service for her late husband, Prince Philip, accompanied by the former Royal Navy helicopter commander, Prince Andrew, in a tired state and finding it difficult to walk and stand.

His prominent role at the memorial service in Westminster Abbey, and was reported by television channels, was taken as a sign that his mother believed he still enjoyed a role in family events.

His appearance, which was the focus of media coverage, sparked widespread controversy, and the Queen's announcement that he would not attend the Trooping the Color military parade may be seen as a sign that the palace does not want to repeat his appearances alongside the family on official occasions.

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, has denied the American woman's allegations of sexual assault, and remains stripped of his honorary military titles and his role in charities, depriving him of any official royal role.

Terrace promises not to cut spending to offset the tax cut plan

LONDON (AFP) - British Prime Minister Liz Terrace vowed Wednesday not to cut public spending while sticking to the tax-cutting mini-budget offered last month that caused turbulence in the British market.

Terrace, making her first appearance in parliament since September 23 when introducing the controversial plan, said she was "absolutely" committed to what she pledged during her campaign to take over the leadership of the Conservative Party by maintaining current spending.

With the currency, bond and other markets fearing additional borrowing to offset the tax cuts, fears grew that Truss would resort to cutting budgets for government departments and return to the unpopular austerity policy of a decade ago.

But Terrace insisted that would not happen. "What we're going to make sure is that debt goes down over the medium term," she told MPs during her second "Questions to the Prime Minister" session in the House of Commons. "We will not do this by cutting public spending, but by spending public money well," she added. She said her policies would "protect our economy".

Terrace has also insisted that its controversial economic package announced by Treasury Secretary Kwasi Kwarting that includes cutting many different taxes will lead to "higher growth and lower inflation".

However, the initial impact of that plan was negative on various levels, as the pound fell to unprecedented levels against the dollar, while government borrowing and mortgage interest escalated. The Bank of England was forced to make several emergency interventions in the bond markets, while the economy contracted unexpectedly in August after posting weak growth the previous month amid a cost-of-living crisis and rising energy bills.

Labor leader Keir Starmer accused Truss of being "lost in denial" and "shirking responsibility" because it refused to acknowledge the economic ramifications of its policies, instead blaming the destabilization of markets on external factors such as the war in Ukraine.

Media reports said the mini-budget - already softened with plans to scrap the higher tax rate - could see further adjustments.

But a spokesman for Trass denied this information and told reporters, "We are committed to the measures that were identified in the growth plan." He added that Truss was "confident that this is the right approach to take to ensure that low or no growth is avoided."

Blinkin seeks in Thailand to strengthen relations with Southeast Asia

Bangkok (AFP) - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will hold talks Sunday in Thailand as part of US efforts in Southeast Asia, a key area of competition with China, and as he explores new ideas on ways to restore democracy in Burma.

Blinken is visiting Thailand, his country's oldest ally in Asia, days after a visit by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The United States regards China as its main global rival, but both countries have recently sought to reduce tensions, and Wang and Blinken met Saturday for five hours in Bali.

Before leaving for Bangkok late Saturday, Blinken said his talks with Wang were "constructive," stressing that the world's two largest economies wanted to prevent their competition from spiraling out of control.

President Joe Biden invited Southeast Asian leaders to Washington in May to show the United States' commitment to the region, despite the administration's focus on countering Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Blinken also meets young people from Burma in Thailand, where in February 2021 the army overthrew the elected government and closed the door to the democratic transition that was sponsored by the United States and the country has lived through for a decade.

Biden responded by imposing a large number of sanctions on the military council, but achieved only a limited breach in pressuring the powerful army.

For its part, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) put forward more than a year ago a plan in which the military council participates with the opposition, but without any progress being made so far.

In a common and unfamiliar position with the United States, Wang Yi visited Burma last week and encouraged the junta to talk to the dissidents.

Daniel Kreitenbrink, the top US diplomat for East Asian affairs, said that Blinken would seek to "increase pressure on the regime to cut off its sources of funding" and work to "force Burma back to the path of democracy."

Kreitenbrink described Thailand as an "important partner" in helping restore democracy in Burma.

Blinken was scheduled to visit Bangkok late last year, but he postponed his trip after an outbreak of the Corona virus among the members of his delegation.

Snapchat is testing a small flying camera as an alternative to the selfie stick

Los Angeles - (dpa) - The social networking application company, Snapchat, seeks to provide a completely new feature to restore users' interest in the application in the face of fierce competition from other video and photo platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

The application company, which can automatically delete and destroy images exchanged between users, is testing a very small flying camera to facilitate the capture and exchange of images between users.

"In an effort to make the selfie stick a thing of the past in the age of drone technology, the company is developing Snapchat's built-in Pixie Camera, which is capable of working with several preset flight programs," said Evan Spiegel, co-founder of Snapchat.

The flying camera rotates around the user, takes photos and videos, and places them in the palm of their hand.

Snap says that the price of this flying camera will reach 229 and will be available in the United States and France only at the present time.

The Snapchat application achieved its popularity in the beginning through the feature of automatically destroying images exchanged between users after viewing them. However, this distinctive feature is no longer the case with the emergence of similar features on other social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp. Since that time, Snap's management has been trying to develop the application based on AR technologies.

Using augmented reality technology, Snapchat allows users to see digital photos and other items on top of what they can see using their smartphone camera.

Spiegel tells the German news agency (dpa) that he is convinced that the use of augmented reality technology will continue to grow, and many companies are investing in this feature.

Israeli-Palestinian Strategies

By: Gershon Baskin

I have been looking for strategies to try to turn the Israeli-Palestinian conflict back toward a viable and credible peace process that can win support in both communities and internationally. I'd like to share some of my thoughts.
The Oslo framework was envisioned as a two-state solution based on the model of separation (some have called it divorce) in which a Palestinian state would be created on 22% of the land and Israel on the remaining 78%. Because of the Israeli settlements, for that to happen, Israel would have to annex at least 5% of the West Bank and make a 1:1 land swap of land inside the Green Line. While this annexation and land swap may place about 75-80% of the Israeli settlers under Israeli sovereignty, the remaining 70,000-100,000 settlers will be left behind. Meaning that they would either have to return to Israel itself or to the annexed area. It is very unlikely that they will be allowed or choose to remain within the State of Palestine. The expansion of Israeli settlements and Israeli control of land and infrastructure in the West Bank, coupled with the fact that settlers in remote areas are the most ideological and extremist settlers, makes this option very unlikely. Combined with the objection of the majority of Palestinian youth and the majority of Israelis to this option, the Oslo model of the two-state solution seems completely unworkable.

Another paradigm for the two-state solution is the so-called "Two States, One Homeland" now called "Land for All". This model recognizes the importance of the entire land to both peoples, and instead of being based on a model of separation it is based on a model of cooperation. In their statement of principles, they wrote: “Our vision precludes the supremacy of one nation over another. Our vision is equal national and individual rights for everyone who lives in this homeland… Israel and Palestine will be two independent sovereign states with full control over their lands, with borders drawn according to the lines of June 4, 1967.. The two states will establish a joint superstructure of effective and joint institutions that operate on the basis of equality and are agreed upon by the two states...Each state will have full sovereignty over its territory. However, the borders will be open to the citizens of the two independent states...With the borders set for political separation between the two states, but not Demographic or geographic separation…” Therefore, in this model, Israeli settlers can remain where they are as citizens of Israel but as residents of Palestine. Returning Palestinian refugees may be Palestinian citizens but are residents of Israel. This seems far fetched, but it is a model that attempts to deal with the realities on the ground of settlers who, for the sake of peace, should not be removed from their homes.
The fastest model to gain support among Palestinians and foreigners appears to be the one that focuses on citizen rights and less on national self-determination. This model argues that the two-state solution is dead. They claim that the option of dividing the land was rejected by Israeli decisions to continue building settlements throughout the land. It is also rejected by the Palestinians, who see Palestine as more than the West Bank and Gaza. There are those who speak directly about the one-state solution and there are others who do not talk about a solution, but only talk about the urgent need to obtain equal rights. The motto of this model is very simple and hard to dismiss: one person, one vote. The need to protect the national, ethnic and religious identities of both peoples living on the land can be done by mutual agreement through democracy within the basic framework of equal right to equal rights. Both peoples want to protect their identity and their historical connection to the land. Both peoples claim religious ties to the same holy places and it is conceivable that they would be willing to respect these ties if there were a full reciprocity and equality of these rights.
I think there is little point to the classic two-state solution. Most people on both sides don't seem to think that's possible. The international community and those who benefit domestically from the status quo remain its main defenders. I tell these people to either recognize the state of Palestine now or stop talking about the slogan of two states. I say this mainly to the United States and the European Union countries that have not recognized Palestine but also to Japan, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and other large and important countries.
I think serious Israelis and Palestinians need to sit down and discuss other models of federation or confederation (land for all is a confederal model) or other hybrid solutions. I also believe that Palestinians should embrace a global call for full equality (and this includes Palestinian citizens of Israel). The Palestinians' embrace of "one person, one vote" must be part of a real and widespread embrace of a Palestinian commitment to the continuation of nonviolence. This does not mean acquiescence to the reality of the occupation and the absence of political and human rights, which is their current reality. Once the claim for full equality which is the essence of "one person, one vote" is accepted there must be an understanding that ultimately it is a statement of true willingness to live with Israeli Jews in full peace and equality.
Our main challenge is that the vast majority of Israelis and Palestinians do not believe that there is any chance in the foreseeable future for peace or even a viable peace process. Public opinion is a good reflection of the utter absence of real leaders on either side who themselves believe in true peace. Public opinion on both sides can and will change when there are leaders on both sides who recognize the legitimate existence of the other and are genuinely willing to discuss and negotiate all claims and possibilities for conflict resolution.
