The prisoner, Noureddine Jarbou, was sentenced to two years in prison

It is worth mentioning that the wounded Jarbou, since his arrest, has faced serious medical negligence, which led to infections and severe ulcers on his body, and the prison administration deliberately did not provide him with a special mattress, and as a result of his inability to move, these ulcers occurred, and this led to his serious infections, In addition to being paralyzed, the severe injury resulted in an opening in his back with a wound 25 cm long and 10 cm deep, and rotting in the area of the injury. Neither Semitic nor Democracy

Written by: Dr. Hany Akkad
The Semitic peoples are Arab peoples whose original homeland is the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula. They are divided into the Arabs of the North and the Arabs of the South, in addition to the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Arameans who lived in Mesopotamia, the Canaanites, the Phoenicians, the Amorites, the Moabites, the Domites, the Ammonites, and the Hebrews, and these lived in states in the Levant. To the peoples that belong geographically to the Levant, Mesopotamia, and the land of the Arabian Peninsula, and these researchers confirm that the Semitic peoples are those peoples that migrated from the Arabian Peninsula to Palestine and Jordan due to the harsh conditions of the desert and the request for security and stability. The Jews or the Israelis, by the modern name, were never Semitic people, and the claim of Semitism against themselves came after this date because of the European persecution of the Jews, knowing that European Jews are not Semitic at all, and part of the Arab Jews may be Semitic because they are Arabs who lived within those ancient tribes that migrated to Regions of the Levant and Palestine seeking protection like others. Historians say that the first important human migrations to Palestine began at the beginning of the third millennium BC, which is the migration of the Canaanites, who were known by the name of the places in which they lived. It was called Palestine, the land of Canaan until 1200 BC, when it was invaded by the Cretan tribes.

Historically established and clear is that the Jews have nothing to do with peace, especially the Europeans who migrated to Palestine and established a state, and the evidence is that they did not call it the "Semitic state" but rather "Israel" in the sense of the victorious man in relation to Jacob, peace be upon him, who defeated the divine king. Victorious and victorious, and (Eel) means God, so they persevered in killing the Palestinian Arab people when Britain gave them a promise and prepared for them political conditions and provided them with weapons to enable them to carry out criminal attacks against the Palestinian population in Palestinian cities and villages in 1948, and thus establish an alleged entity for them in Palestine, my son. On the basis of killing, burning, displacing, and seizing Palestinian homes, farms, and fields, given that this is considered victory and victory. The accusation of "anti-Semitism" by any opponent and critic of the Israeli colonial policy in Palestine is false and has no basis in history because the concept of "anti-Semitism" is a newly created concept that was projected onto ancient history and used to explain the relationship of Jews with other peoples in modern and contemporary history, even Now, whoever criticizes the policy of the Zionist occupation in Palestine, describes their policy as criminal, and demands that the leaders of this entity respect the rules of international and international humanitarian law and implement all international legitimacy resolutions related to resolving the conflict, in their view, it is considered "anti-Semitic."

Recently, Netanyahu, head of the fascist right-wing Zionist coalition, and the new government in the occupying country, sharply criticized the American newspaper "The New York Times" because it sharply criticized the new government headed by him. Netanyahu's agreements with the religious bloc, which seemed to control the joints of the Hebrew state and its religious legislation. The editorial stated that the occupying state (Israel) that we knew no longer exists, as the religious and extremist nationalist parties endanger the model of the Jewish democratic state. The newspaper explained that the Netanyahu government poses a great threat to the future of the state Occupation (Israel) The editorial stressed that (Ben Gvir) and his ideology of hatred and his racist actions could trigger a new round of Arab-Israeli violence. Netanyahu accused the newspaper of inciting against the new government, which means undermining it. He said in a comment on social media, "After burying the Holocaust (the Nazi Holocaust) for years on its back pages and demonizing Israel for decades on its front pages, the New York Times is now calling, shamefully, to undermine the elected government." Netanyahu accused the newspaper of delegitimizing democracy, the only real one in the Middle East and America's best ally in the region.

The New York Times is not the largest newspaper in the United States, but all strategic thinkers, many researchers in democracy and human rights, and members of the US House of Representatives and Senate consider what is happening as a collapse of Israeli democracy because the occupying state, with this approach and this policy towards the Palestinians, will not be in any way a state. Democracy, especially in light of racist laws and decisions that violate international law and unleash the hands of fascist extremists to commit more hate and racist crimes that destroy any semblance of democracy, especially since Netanyahu has implemented all parliament projects in his entity to pass laws that unleash the hands of these extremists to eliminate the Palestinians and deprive them of their freedom. Their historical dream of living in an independent entity and legitimate sovereignty like the rest of the peoples of the earth.

Today, due to these laws, the occupying state has become a state (neither Semitic nor democratic), and those who will rule it are the ultra-Orthodox religious who do not accept living with other nationalities on the land, such as the Arab Palestinians, especially since Netanyahu granted members of his ultra-Orthodox government powers regarding settlement in the West Bank related to resolving the scene on The land by imposing Israeli sovereignty over large areas, especially Areas (C), and this is what the Biden administration had sent messages in this regard to Netanyahu, but Netanyahu did not care about these warning messages, and it seemed as if he had completely removed his hand from the settlement issue, which would double the scene in the occupied territories. In sum, the world is definitely facing an extremist religious transformation in the state of the entity to become a Sharia state ruled by extremist religious people who ignore judicial legislation and legislative laws and spread the rules of governance according to the extremist Jewish law, which means blowing up all the rules of democracy at the hands of all those eight religious factions in the Knesset and all of Netanyahu's liberal attempts will not Democracy saves from the state of intentional assimilation pursued by the adherents of this extremist religious ideology.

Non-governmental organizations partially resume their work in Afghanistan with the participation of female employees

Kabul (AFP) - Three NGOs have partially resumed their activities with female employees in Afghanistan , after receiving guarantees from the Taliban authorities that the women can continue working in the health sector.

On December 24, the Afghan Ministry of Economy announced that Afghan women would be banned from working in non-governmental organizations, due to "serious complaints" related to the lack of respect for wearing the veil, which must cover the body and face.

Immediately, several NGOs, including the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Save the Children and CARE, announced the suspension of their activities in the country, in protest of this decision.

However, in recent days, these organizations have resumed providing assistance in the health and food sectors, with the participation of their female employees in a number of regions.

"We have resumed our activities in the health sector with female employees" in four regions, Samira Syed Rahman, an official of the International Rescue Committee, told AFP.

"We are continuing discussions with the regional authorities to resume health and food activities in other areas," the organization added in a statement.

About 1,260 NGOs operate in the country, according to the Ministry of Economy, and employ thousands of women in key positions, whether in food aid programs or in the fields of health and education.

For its part, "Save the Children" confirmed the resumption of its activities in the health sector.

"We have received clear and reliable assurances from the relevant authorities that our female employees will be safe and able to work without hindrance," she said in a statement.

"However, given that the general ban is still in place, our other activities, for which we have not received reliable guarantees that our female colleagues can work, remain suspended," the organization added.

Also, the "CARE" organization confirmed in a statement that it "is resuming its health and food activities in Afghanistan with male and female employees."

In turn, the spokesman for the Ministry of Economy, Abdul Rahman Habib, told AFP on Tuesday, "Non-governmental organizations working in the field of health are working with their female employees... We need them to help children who suffer from nutritional deficiencies and other women who need health services."

"They all work according to our religious and cultural values," he added.

NGOs are providing essential aid to a country where more than half of the 38 million people suffer from acute food insecurity.

Russia wants Ukraine's "obligations" not to use the grain corridor for "military purposes"

Moscow - (AFP) - The Russian army said Monday that it wants "obligations" from Ukraine not to use the grain export corridor for military purposes, after the drone attack on its fleet in Crimea and the suspension of the agreement to export grain.

"There is no way to guarantee the safety of anything in this region until Ukraine makes additional commitments not to use this road for military purposes," the Russian Ministry of Defense wrote on Telegram.

The ministry called on the United Nations, the guarantor of the Ukraine grain export agreement signed in July, to help "obtain guarantees from Ukraine that the humanitarian corridor and Ukrainian ports designated for the export of agricultural products will not be used for hostile acts against Russia."

Moscow suspended its participation in the grain transfer agreement after it accused Ukraine of launching a "major" attack with drones on its Black Sea fleet in Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014.

The Russian military said the attack, which Moscow attributed to Ukraine with the help of British specialists, was carried out in part from the sea lane used to transport grain.

"Pending clarification of the situation resulting from the terrorist act committed by Ukraine on October 29 (...) the security corridor will be suspended," he added.

"The movement of ships along the security corridor is unacceptable, as the Ukrainian leadership and the leadership of the Ukrainian army use it to carry out combat operations against Russia," he added.

Paris - (AFP) - French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan announced today, Thursday, that his country will soon deport an imam in the north called Hassan Ekoissen, known for his closeness to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Haaretz reveals details about the efforts of America and Egypt to calm the situation in the West Bank

A translation of Al-Quds.com - The Hebrew newspaper "Haaretz" revealed, on Friday, details of the American-Egyptian efforts, which are being made in coordination with other Arab countries, including Jordan, to contain the recently deteriorating escalation in the West Bank .

According to the newspaper, the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah linked any talk of calm and a return to security coordination with several measures that the Israeli government must take, including stopping the demolition of homes, stopping the attacks and attacks it is waging against prisoners inside prisons, and stopping daily arrests in the West Bank.

It quoted a senior Palestinian official as saying that the Palestinian Authority and its security services can only move on this basis, until it succeeds in working, and not turn it into an executive contractor with Israel.

He pointed out that strengthening the Palestinian security forces and improving their capabilities requires allocating resources and budgets and not deducting tax money as the Israeli government does.

He said, "Israel is behaving contrary to all logic. On the one hand, Netanyahu declares that he is not interested in escalation, but in practice he lets the settlers do whatever they want, and Ben Gvir sends bulldozers to demolish Jerusalem and suffocate the prisoners more and more ... and the Palestinians must surrender, sit quietly, coordinate security and organize cities so that there is general Peace in Israel, but what about us?!

The Hebrew newspaper quoted high-ranking Palestinian and Egyptian sources as saying that the Egyptian intelligence, led by Major General Abbas Kamel, and a team of mediators, on his part, are working with the faction leaders to prevent further escalation.

According to the same sources, Egypt has conveyed a message to Israel that the behavior of the current government is detrimental to Cairo's efforts to achieve calm, and that the provocative measures of government ministers in Tel Aviv, including against Palestinian prisoners, are detrimental to mediation efforts.

Abbas Kamel met this week with President Mahmoud Abbas, and in Cairo he will meet the leaders of Jihad and Hamas, including Ziyad al-Nakhala and Ismail Haniyeh.

According to sources in Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Cairo has received clear messages from both Ramallah and Gaza, stating that they are also interested in calm, but this requires Israel to take steps, including stopping pressure on Palestinian prisoners in prisons, and stopping demolishing homes, especially in eastern Gaza Strip. Jerusalem, and stop the daily raids and arrests inside Palestinian cities.

A senior Hamas official told the Hebrew newspaper, "No one wants a new confrontation... This is the prevailing atmosphere so far between the factions in Gaza, and the recent rocket fire was a calculated response, and the Israeli response was according to that, but the steps that Israel will take will be the ones that will rule." On what will happen on the ground, any decision or step taken by the Netanyahu government and his ministers will have consequences.

Sources from Cairo told the newspaper that the firing of rockets from Gaza, even if it was limited, is a message to Israel that things could get out of control and drag the organizations into a new round of fighting.

An Egyptian source warned, saying: "Who guarantees that the situation will continue in this way if the shooting range is expanded? .. In Egypt, we are preparing for the coming weeks, with a focus on the last week of March with the beginning of the month of Ramadan, which may be an explosive factor, but we want that It passes quietly."

Fixing the leakage in the oil pipeline between Russia and Germany

Warsaw - (AFP) - The Polish company Bern, which operates the Druzhba oil pipeline linking Russia with Germany, announced Saturday that it had addressed the problem of the leakage that caused the closure of part of the line.

"Bern Technical Services on Saturday restored full functionality to the damaged pipeline supplying the company's German customers with crude oil," the company said in a statement.

"An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the leak," she added.

The company had said earlier that preliminary examinations indicated that the leak could be accidental.

The accident came after four leaks that damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines that stretch under the sea and link Russia with Germany.
The leak was detected in a section of one of two underground Druzhba pipelines late Tuesday near the village of Zorawec in central Poland.
The pipeline provides supplies mainly to the Schwytt and Leona refineries in Germany.
Work on the Drogba pipeline, whose name means "friendship", began in the early 1990s and today extends over a 5,500-kilometre network. It transports oil from the Urals to Europe, via a northern branch through Poland and a southern one through Ukraine.

An asteroid the size of a truck passes close by Earth

Los Angeles - (AFP) - An asteroid the size of a truck passed near Earth without causing any damage, according to the US space agency (NASA).

There was no need to launch a space mission aimed at detonating the asteroid or diverting its path through missiles, as appears in Hollywood films, as the BU-2023 asteroid passed by Earth without recording any incident before completing its path in space.

The asteroid approached the southern tip of South America, Friday, at approximately 00:27 GMT, according to scientists.

BU 2023 approached 3,600 km from the Earth's surface, much closer than several satellites orbiting the Earth.

The asteroid was spotted on Saturday by an observatory in Crimea by amateur astronomer Gennady Borisov, who had previously spotted an interstellar comet in 2019.

Then dozens more observations were made from observatories around the world.

NASA's impact risk assessment system quickly concluded that the asteroid would not hit Earth.

"Despite the very small number of observations, the system was able to predict that the asteroid would pass very close to Earth," said NASA researcher David Farnocchia, who helped develop the system.

"In fact, this is one of the closest times an object has ever come close to Earth," he added.

Even if it had collided with Earth, the asteroid, with a diameter of 3.5 meters to 8.5 meters, would have largely disintegrated in the Earth's atmosphere, which would have produced a few small meteorites.

NASA officials said Earth's gravity would change the asteroid's orbit around the sun. The asteroid took 359 days to complete its orbit around the sun, but after this great approach to Earth, it will take 425 days to complete its orbit.

Begum loses her appeal to regain British citizenship because she joined ISIS

London - (AFP) - The British judiciary confirmed on Wednesday the revocation of the citizenship of Shamima Begum, who went to Syria at the age of fifteen in 2015 to join the Islamic State.

London stripped the young woman of her British citizenship in 2019, citing national security, in a case that particularly affected public opinion due to her young age. But Shamima Begum, now 23 and still in Syria, has appealed the decision.

After fleeing the battles, the young woman found herself in a Syrian camp in February 2019.

She was pregnant with a child who died, sparking criticism of the British government.

She expressed her desire to return to the United Kingdom but was stripped of her citizenship by London. Her family objected to this procedure.
At the beginning of 2020, the Special Committee for Immigration Appeals Considered that the decision does not make Shamima stateless because she was born to parents who hold Bangladeshi nationality.

But Dhaka refused to accept her because she had never applied for her nationality.

Defense lawyers for the young woman, Gareth Pearce and Daniel Furner, said that she was a victim of trafficking by the Islamic State to marry a jihadist, explaining, "There is now no protection for a British child who was trafficked outside the United Kingdom, as the Home Secretary invokes national security."

Amnesty International said, "The ability to simply remove a citizen should not exist in the modern world, particularly when it comes to someone who was severely exploited as a child."

Our children were created for life... and our people for freedom

Written by: Nihad Abu Ghosh
Amid successive waves of recent resistance operations, which came as natural and expected reactions to the crimes of the occupation, the occupied territories witnessed some emotional operations carried out by a number of children under the age of eighteen, that is, under the age of majority, and under the age of legal and penal responsibility in accordance with all national laws. and international. This in itself raises a number of political, legal and moral questions, which require from us as Palestinians, factions, individuals and institutions, a clear, bold and categorical stance towards this phenomenon. There is no need to stress more than what is known to each of us that the crimes of the occupation do not differentiate between old and young, nor between men and women. Every Palestinian is a permissible target for the weapon and uncontrollable killing tools carried by the soldier or the settler, who is protected and supported by a fascist government, and legislated by a system of laws of racial discrimination.

Resistance is the noblest phenomenon of political struggle that people have known, and it is often the weapon of the weak and defeated in the face of the tyranny of the strong aggressor. It was guaranteed by international charters and laws, and it constituted an undeniable lever to restore our Palestinian national identity. It also constituted in colonial countries the noblest method of liberation from colonialism, as practiced by it. Developed countries and peoples when they were subjected to external invasion, as happened with most of the peoples of Europe in the face of Nazism.

But resistance must be guided, and it is a means and not an end in itself, and our cause is the equivalent of truth and justice, and it is a fortiori that we elevate the morals of our struggle and struggle to the level that befits the great values of freedom, and we have in the heroes of a number of recent operations an example of the chivalry of our fighters and their lofty morals, When they intentionally avoided harming children and civilians, as was recognized by a number of eyewitnesses in the fields of operations, although no one would blame those "who went to their death in two names", confident in the justice of their cause.

Israel, according to the testimonies of local and international human rights organizations, applies two parallel legal systems: one for the dominant party, who are the Jews to whom the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international treaties on minors under the legal age apply, and the second does not recognize international covenants and applies the laws inherited from the era of the British Mandate and Israeli military orders against our youth and children. The result is that a child like Ahmed Manasra (who has become a young man) is arrested at the age of twelve, and he spends more than half of his life until now being deprived of treatment and care, while the criminals who burned the Dawabsha family and the martyred child Abu Khudair escape punishment, taking advantage of the applied racist laws. Because some of them were under eighteen days at the time of committing the crime.

Let us be clear and firm about the phenomenon of children’s participation in operations, and say it out loud: No to the participation of our children in the armed struggle as long as they are below the age of legal responsibility. their contribution to the struggle of their people. We are fully aware that these children who participate in the operations are mainly victims of the crimes of the occupation, and it is responsible for pushing them and other young people to choose this way to respond. The occupation commits it, so they respond with whatever makes it possible for them to respond, with scissors or a screwdriver, without planning or training, resorting to the nearest available means, after which they become a target for field executions that the occupation propaganda calls “neutralization.”

It is true that our distant and recent history is full of stories of heroism and sacrifice of young men and children that we have begun to sing of, such as the phenomenon of RPG children and children of stones, but each time has its own circumstances, our people, factions and adult fighters did not hide behind children or watch them carry out operations to praise them afterwards.

It is strange that the national factions race to glorify the phenomenon of child operations and describe it as a natural phenomenon and a response to the crimes of the occupation, and even call for more of these sacrifices, without highlighting that these children are practically victims of the Israeli killing machine. It is better for these factions, as long as they are convinced of the armed struggle, to take the initiative To mobilize its members and affiliates and push them to carry out these tasks instead of glorifying what the children are doing, no one denies that these factions have a glorious history of sacrifice and redemption, and they individually and collectively provided thousands of martyrs on the path of freedom and independence, but they cannot cover the crisis of their relationship with the current wave of resistance with statements Glorifying the martyrs, including children.

There is no natural person who would like his children to go to battle instead of him, let alone see them killed, whether for the sake of the homeland or for any lofty idea, so it is logical to complete this by saying that we do not wish to see our children or children of others sacrifice their lives and become martyrs. This simple fact is not canceled by our convictions about the fate of the martyrs and their reward with God and in the Hereafter, nor the forms of condolence with which we console ourselves. His bereavement, but all the following days of her life will not extinguish the oppression, pain and anguish of loss that will accompany her for life.

Death cannot be a goal for us, neither for our youth, nor for our children who were created for life and for the future. Let us protect them with the pupils of our eyes and spread awareness and culture that protects their childhood, so that they live in a free homeland. We and all our institutions must ensure that the detained children receive Muhammad Aliwat and Muhammad Abu Qutaish And Muhammad Basil Al-Zalbani, the care and protection they deserve as children, so that the scenario of oppression and abuse to which the detained child Ahmed Manasra was subjected will not be repeated.

Guterres presses for a truce in Ukraine despite a negative response from a Russian envoy

NEW YORK - (Xinhua) - UN Secretary-General António Guterres continues to press for a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine even though Russia's UN envoys said a ceasefire is not a good option for now, a United Nations spokesman said.

"We continue to call for a ceasefire or some kind of pause. And the Secretary-General did that, as you know, just last week. And that obviously didn't happen in time for (Orthodox) Easter," said Farhan Haq, Guterres' deputy spokesman. .

"I don't want to give too much detail at this point on what kind of proposals he's going to have," he said in a daily press briefing. "I think we're going through a rather delicate moment. It's important that he be able to talk clearly with the leadership on both sides and see what progress we can make." achieve it.”

"At the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to stop the fighting and find ways to improve the situation of people in Ukraine, reduce the threat to them, provide humanitarian assistance (to them). So, those are the goals that we are trying to achieve, and there are certain ways that we will try to move forward," he said. with it.”

Guterres left Turkey on his way to Moscow. He will hold a business meeting and lunch with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday, and will be received by President Vladimir Putin. Guterres will then travel to Ukraine and hold a working meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and President Volodymyr Zelensky will receive him on Thursday.

Before his trips to Moscow and Kiev, Guterres stopped in Turkey, where he discussed the Ukrainian issue with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Haq noted that the Secretary-General is making these trips because he believes there is an opportunity now.

"A lot of diplomacy is about timing, about knowing when is the right time to talk to someone, to travel somewhere, to do certain things. He goes in anticipation that there is a real opportunity that can be exploited now, and we will see what we can make of it," he explained.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, said on Monday that now is not the time for a ceasefire.
"We do not think that a ceasefire is a good option at the moment. The only advantage it will offer is that it will give the Ukrainian forces the possibility to regroup and carry out more provocations like the one in Bucha," he added, adding that "it is not up to me to decide, but I I see no reason for that now."

The United Nations expects 8.3 million Ukrainians to flee their country

Geneva - (AFP) - The United Nations predicted that the number of Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country, which was invaded by the Russian army on February 24, would reach 8.3 million.
According to the international organization, more than 5.2 million Ukrainians have so far fled their country.
Given the deterioration of the situation, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which at the beginning of the conflict expected four million Ukrainians to leave the country, requested $1.85 billion to support its activities and the actions of its partners to help people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
UNHCR spokeswoman Shabia Mantoo said during a press conference in Geneva that the review of the expected number of refugees "was developed in cooperation with the authorities and neighboring countries, but it is important to remember that the situation is witnessing rapid developments."
The United Nations also announced that it had doubled an urgent appeal for funds to provide humanitarian aid to 8.7 million people in Ukraine, bringing the total to $2.25 billion.
"More than $2.25 billion has become necessary to meet Ukraine's needs, more than double the amount required ($1.1 billion) when we launched the appeal on March 1, days after the start of the war," the office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.
This appeal, which was originally launched for a period of three months, was extended for an additional three months, until August.
The number of people in need of humanitarian assistance inside Ukraine also increased from 12 million to 15.7 million. The new appeal aims to help 8.7 million people among those most affected by the conflict in the country. More than half of these people are women.
The United Nations has so far received $980 million from donors, representing 44% of the funds requested under the new appeal.
"This money has allowed the United Nations and its partners to provide humanitarian assistance to 3.4 million people in Ukraine," said Jens Lark, spokesman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, during a press conference in Geneva.
