Video || "Al-Quds" reveals the identity of the Jordanian MP who is being held by the Israeli occupation

Well-informed Jordanian sources revealed, on Sunday evening, the identity of the Jordanian parliamentarian, who has been detained by the Israeli occupation forces since the morning hours, and interrogated him while he was traveling in his vehicle across the "Allenby / Karama" bridge that connects the Palestinian territories and Jordan.

The sources told Al-Quds.com that the Israeli occupation is detaining MP Imad Zaidan Al-Adwan .

The Jordanian deputy, Al-Adwan, is a resident of the city of Salt in the center of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Al-Adwan is a lawyer, holds a master's degree in international law, and is a member of the Palestine Committee in the Jordanian Parliament.

Earlier, unreliable Hebrew pages on social networks published a short video clip showing the Israeli customs authorities seizing weapons and quantities of gold, claiming they were trying to smuggle them across the bridge.

According to these different pages, these weapons were tried to be smuggled by a member of the Jordanian Parliament, without revealing his identity.

The military correspondent of Reshet Kan only indicated that there was censorship over the publication of the news.

Later, Jordanian MP Khalil Attia confirmed in a statement that the occupation had detained one of his colleagues, calling for immediate action to release him.

He stressed the need not to leave any space for the occupation to harm the dignity of Jordanians.

He held the Jordanian government responsible for any failure to secure his release.

The British Labor Party suspends the work of a deputy in Parliament over her statements about racism

Britain's Labor Party on Sunday suspended its deputy, Diane Abbott , who was the first black woman to hold a seat in the House of Commons, over a letter she wrote about racism.

Abbott said in the letter, which she published in the newspaper "The Observer", that the Jews, the Irish and travelers are "undoubtedly victims of prejudices (...) but they are not subjected to racism for life," unlike blacks.

A Labor spokesman said the party "fully condemns these comments, which are deeply offensive and misleading," announcing that Diane Abbott had been suspended pending investigation.

Diane Abbott apologized on Twitter in the face of strong reactions to the letter. "I wish to completely and unreservedly withdraw my remarks and distance myself from them," she said.

"I want to apologize for all the pain I have caused," she added, noting that "racism takes many forms and it is undeniable that the Jewish people have suffered its ugly effects, just like the Irish, travelers and many others."

Diane Abbott wrote in her letter that these groups are "undoubtedly victims of prejudice (...) Many white people with points of difference, such as redheads, can be victims of prejudice."

"But they don't experience racism their whole lives. Before civil rights in America, they didn't have to sit in the back of the bus. In South Africa during apartheid, these groups had the right to vote."

The case comes days after local elections were held and the Labor Party is leading the opinion polls against the Conservatives, who have been in power for 13 years.

The issue of anti-Semitism is very sensitive in this party, which has been shaken in recent years by repeated events in this field.

In 2020, the EHRC found "unexplained" failures resulting from a "lack of will to address anti-Semitism" within the Labor Party.

At that time, Jeremy Corbyn, who was leader of the party between 2015 and 2020, was suspended from membership due to his questioning of a number of the report's conclusions.

In February, UK Labor leader Keir Starmer reiterated his desire to turn the page on the "scourge" of anti-Semitism.

A sanctuary in Sudan launches a relief appeal to save hungry lions and animals

On Sunday, the Sudan Wildlife Park launched an appeal for help for the animals in the park, including 25 hungry lions, with power outages and food shortages, at a time when battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been going on for more than a week.

The fierce battles taking place in Sudan since April 15 between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo have killed more than 420 people and wounded 3,700.

"The situation of the zoo and animals has become very critical," the Sudan Wildlife Park said in a statement posted on social media.

The park is located in Bagir, southeast of Khartoum, near one of the military headquarters, "which witnesses clashes on a daily basis."

According to the park, "the siege tightened on us due to the power outage, and our stocks of animal food and drink began to run out," stressing that since the start of the battles, "we face all risks on a daily basis to perform our duties towards animals."

The park is home to 25 lions, six hyenas, many monkeys, birds, six deer, two camels, dogs, squirrels and wild cats.

"Our car, which we use to perform our duties, was stolen, and even fuel has become impossible to provide," the statement said.

AFP visited the volunteer-run reserve in Bagir last year, which opened in 2020. They told how they distribute between 5 and 10 kilograms of meat to each lion and a handful of hyenas.

There are only 20,000 lions left in the wild in Africa, including a handful living in Sudan in the Dinder National Park near the border with Ethiopia.

Deputy Oil Minister: Almost 10 million liters of diesel are smuggled out of Iran every day

Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Jalil Salari said that nearly 10 million liters of diesel are smuggled out of the Islamic Republic every day because of its competitive price.

Salari, who is also the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, made the remarks in an interview with the official IRNA news agency, published on Saturday.

He stated that the price of a liter of diesel in Iran is about $0.8 less than its price in the surrounding countries, adding that the differences in diesel prices between Iran and its neighbors made smuggling an attractive activity.

Salari stated that the daily consumption of diesel in the country's transport sector is now 84 million liters, while it is estimated that the figure should not exceed 75 million liters per day.

Salari explained that to stop diesel smuggling, Iran encouraged the use of personal fuel cards and developed smart systems to impose greater control over cash transactions and identify suspicious transactions.

Salari said that Iran, which has one of the largest oil and gas reserves in the world, refines more than 2.2 million barrels of crude oil and condensate in its 10 refineries every day, adding that the country's daily production of diesel and gasoline reached 110 and 115 million liters, respectively.

The Iranian government subsidizes the use of fuel, making fuel smuggling a lucrative business. Over the past few months, the Iranian Navy has stopped a large number of ships for transporting smuggled fuel.

The United Kingdom prepares for the coronation of Charles III between pomp and a family crisis

The United Kingdom is preparing for the coronation of King Charles III on May 6 in London, in a religious ceremony organized with the pomp of the British monarchy and featuring the presence of rambunctious son Prince Harry.

With the approach of the first event of its kind in seventy years, the first exercises for marches are taking place on horseback, souvenir porcelain cups - in "masculine" blue - are spread in the shops, and an official dish is a spinach, bean and tarragon tart.

Only the enthusiasm of an inflationary public is lacking more than the new 74-year-old king, who wants to adapt the centuries-old institution to the demands of his time from ecology to diversity, but struggles to embody renewal and is still less popular than his heir William.

Eight months after his accession to the throne following the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, at the age of 96, the time has come to publicly dedicate Charles as Head of State of the United Kingdom and 14 other kingdoms from Canada to Australia and the Bahamas.

Charles III will become the 40th British king to be crowned at Westminster Abbey since William the Conqueror in 1066.

Queen Camilla, 75, who was mistress in the shadow of Princess Diana, will be crowned.

Charles III wanted a modern ball, which was shortened to one hour and limited to 2,000 guests (three hours and eight thousand people for Elizabeth II). But the event remains rooted in centuries of tradition.

The head of the Church of England, Charles, will take the oath and benefit from the blessing of the Archbishop of Canterbury. He will also receive the royal mantle, orb (a golden orb surmounted by a cross) and the scepter and crown of St. Edward which will be placed on his head.

After that, the royal couple, accompanied by four thousand soldiers, will return in an eighteenth-century carriage to Buckingham Palace, where the royal family will receive the crowd from its famous balcony.

The event will kick off a weekend of festivities with neighborhood parties and a concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday and a public holiday on Monday during which Britons are invited to volunteer.

But the atmosphere is far from those celebrations that Britain witnessed at the coronation of the young Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, which constituted a renewal in a kingdom suffering from the effects of World War II, not even the farewell ceremony of the very popular queen, after seventy years of rule last June.

And according to opinion polls conducted by the "YouGov" institute, about two-thirds of Britons (64 percent) are not interested, and a majority of them (51 percent) believe that the state should not pay for the expenses of the party.

British stars, from Elton John to Adele and Ed Sheeran, refused to participate in the concert, so the poster is dominated by Americans Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, and Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli.

Since his accession to the throne, Charles has seemed very active, breaking away from his mother's steadfast reticence to delve into issues such as the environment or the war in Ukraine.

But on his travels, he often encountered anti-monarchy demonstrators, something that would have been unimaginable in the reign of Elizabeth II, and he found himself repeatedly targeted for egg-throwing.

The "Republic" movement called on the British to wear T-shirts that read "Not mine" on the occasion of the coronation.

Most of the media in recent weeks has focused on Prince Harry and his wife Megan, who have separated from the royal family since he left for California in 2020.

And in mid-April, the palace raised the bar for excitement by announcing that the youngest son of the king, despite his very malicious remarks against the monarchy, would attend, but not his wife, the American actress, or their two children Archie (who will celebrate his fourth birthday on the day of the coronation) and Lilibet, who is about two years old.

Will the Duke of Sussex meet his father or older brother William, whom he described as hot-tempered and violent?

The British media is expecting a lightning turnout, but the interest will be great.

His last trip to London in late March for a trial against a tabloid aroused more interest than his father's first foreign trip the same week to Germany.

Britain is testing an alarm system on millions of mobile phones

Britain plans to test a new emergency alert system on Sunday, so that at 3:00 pm local time (1400 GMT) millions of mobile phones will sound like a siren in addition to vibrating.

The national system, modeled on similar systems in Canada, Japan, the Netherlands and the United States, aims to warn the public if there is a life-threatening danger nearby, but has raised suspicions of privacy violations by the "custodial country".

A message will appear on the mobile phone saying: "This is a test for Emergency Alerts, a new British government service to warn you if there is a life-threatening emergency nearby."

Emergency agencies and the government hope to use the system to alert people during disasters such as severe floods and fires.

The 10-second alert, even if the phone is on silent, is expected to disrupt technical and sporting events, including English Premier League football matches.

The World Snooker Championship organizers will stop playing just before the alert, while the London Theater Association has advised its members to tell the public to turn off their phones.

Drivers have been warned not to pick up their phones during the test, and people who don't want to receive alerts can cancel the service in their device settings.

Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden said: "Keep calm and carry on. That's the British way and that's exactly what the public will do when they receive this alert test at 3pm today."

"The government's first job is to keep people safe, and this is just another tool in the emergency toolkit," he added.

But some conservative figures have criticized the test, with former minister Jacob Rees-Mogg urging people to defy government calls and turn off phones, saying "we are back in the incubator state".

Sarah Vine, a Daily Mail columnist and ex-wife of government minister Michael Gove, described the idea as "as terrifying as it is tiring".

"Terrifying because it is a reminder of the tyranny imposed on us all by technology that has invaded our homes," she wrote.

Dowden sought to reduce concerns about privacy and intrusion, stressing that "all people have to do is remove the message or click OK."

"The test is safe, free to receive, and one-sided and does not reveal anyone's location or collect personal data," he added.

But Judy Edworthy, an expert in alarm systems and professor of psychology at Plymouth University, considered the alert system a positive development, even if its first test surprised people.

"If (the regime) encourages people to look at their phones, read the message and act accordingly, it can be said that it has succeeded," she said.

Lawmakers also criticized the awarding of the alert system contract to Japan's Fujitsu, which is responsible for flawed postal service systems that have led to fraud convictions of managers.

A senior official has been charged in a fire at a migrant center in Mexico

A top Mexican immigration official was charged Saturday with murder over a fire that killed 40 migrants in a detention center in late March.

Salvador Gonzalez Guerrero, director of the National Institute of Migration in the northern state of Chihuahua, was arrested on September 16 in the border city of Ciudad Juarez (north) with the United States, where the tragedy occurred on the night of March 27 to 28.

According to the Federal Judicial Council, González Guerrero has been charged with causing death and injury, and the illegal exercise of public office.

The judge ordered that he continue to be remanded in custody.

Mexican authorities believe the fire started when a migrant set fire to his bed in a cell he shared with 67 other men, to protest his possible deportation.

And footage captured by surveillance cameras showed that when the fire broke out, neither immigration officials nor security men came to rescue the migrants, who were stuck in their cells.

39 of them died of suffocation on the spot, and another died in the hospital.

Four other officials from the National Immigration Institute were arrested after the tragedy, as well as a security guard and an immigrant suspected of setting the bed on fire.

Francisco Gardoño, commissioner and chief official of the National Institute of Migration, was mentioned in the prosecutor's investigation. He is still free, but he is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge on Tuesday.

CAF Champions League: Al-Ahly and Sundowns are on the cusp of the Golden Square and the fall of Wydad

Al-Ahly of Egypt and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa put forward in the semi-finals of the African Champions League , after the first defeated its Moroccan guest, Raja Athletic, 2-0, and hit the second hard outside its stadium by dropping Al-Shabab Al-Sport Belouizdad, Algeria, 4-1, Saturday, in the first leg of the quarter-finals. .

Moroccan Wydad Athletic Club, the defending champion, returned with a disappointing result from the land of Simba, Tanzania, by losing it with a clean goal, after the Tunisian Esperance had defeated its Algerian host, JS Kabylie, with the same result yesterday, Friday.

And after he was on the brink of exiting the back door of the competition, Al-Ahly of Egypt regained its luster in the playoffs, and honored and honored its guest, Moroccan Raja, with two goals at Cairo International Stadium in front of more than 50,000 spectators.

Veteran Raja goalkeeper Anas Al-Zeniti said that his team was the best in the first half. ".

He continued, "The result is harsh, but it is not impossible. We need to appear at a higher level in the second leg, and the desire to compensate, as well as the support of our fans against an experienced team in this competition, which we count on to save our season."

Raja pressed from the start whistle, hoping to achieve rapid progress, and thus put pressure on the red team in its stadium and among its fans, and Egyptian international goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy saved his team when he saved a free kick after a missile shot from a free kick by Mohamed El-Nahiri (4).

The owners of the land responded with a shot from Mahmoud Abdel Moneim, "Kahraba", which was easily blocked by Zaniti (9), and Hussein Al-Shahat hit a powerful ball from the outskirts of the area, which was caught by Al-Zaniti (11).

The Egyptian team continued its dangerous quick rebounds, and Al-Shahat again aimed a weak ball, although he was in a suitable position to score (21), and from the same ball, Muhammad Zuraida hit a powerful ball that passed near the left post of Al-Ahly’s goal (22).

Al-Shennawi shone again in front of Zuraida’s shot, who took advantage of a mistake from Al-Ahly’s defense to shoot (39).

Before the two teams entered a half-time break, Mohamed Abdel Moneim gave Al-Ahly the lead with a deceptive header, after a cross from Tunisian full-back Ali Maaloul (45 + 2).

The situation changed in the second half, as the Moroccan team seemed tired, so that control would devolve to the owners of the land, but without any danger, as the play was confined to the middle of the field.

The red team moved in the last quarter of an hour in order to consolidate its superiority, and South African Percy Tau hit a powerful ball that was brilliantly blocked by Al-Zeniti (74), and the Moroccan goalkeeper caught a ball fired by Marawan Attia (83).

And the owners of the land reached their goal, through Hamdi Fathi, who scored the second goal for Al-Ahly, taking advantage of an elaborate pass sent by Percy Tau, who deceived the Moroccan team’s defense (84).

Morocco's Wydad Athletic Club, the defending champions, returned with a 1-0 defeat to Simba, Tanzania, on Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
The goal was scored by Jan Palecki (31).

The Moroccan team was affected by several factors, including playing in rainy weather, and the absence of influential players, especially Senegalese scorer Pauly Sambo and goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Al-Taknouti.

The "Wydad of the Nation" gave the worst performance since Spain's Juan Carlos Garrido took over the supervision of the team, but the opportunity was clear to compensate in the second leg next Friday in Casablanca.

Wydad began to dominate in the first minutes, and Saif Al-Din Bohra was alone, but he did not handle the ball well (3).

The owners of the land gradually took control, and Jean Palecki hit a powerful ball that passed near the goal (16).

Dennis Keyboard took a free kick, sending it in front of Wydad's goal, where the defenders failed to clear it, so Jean Palecki followed it calmly into the net of goalkeeper Youssef Al-Mutie (31). Garrido objected to the validity of the goal, due to the presence of offside.

The Moroccan team was confused to create several opportunities for the hosts, and Moti' blocked a powerful shot from Baliki (37), before the match was stopped due to fog after the crowd ignited fireworks.

The players of the Moroccan team did not regain their focus after the break, and the Zambian Clatus Shama almost strengthened Simba's progress, but he hit the side of the goal (51).

The defending champion's performance improved after Garrido's changes, with the entry of Zuhair Al-Mutraji, Imad Al-Khanous and Abdullah Hammoud, but he suffered to penetrate the Tanzanian defense, and Hisham Bousfian hit a powerful ball from inside the area over the goal (69).

This is Wydad's first loss under the supervision of coach Garrido after 10 matches.

Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa, issued a strong warning to its rivals, after defeating its host, Shabab Belouizdad, 4-1, at the “Nelson Mandela” stadium in the Algerian capital.

Despite the slight preference for the owners of the land in possession of the ball, the danger was constantly South African, led by the trio Themba Zwane, the Namibian Peter Shaluleli and Thabelo Morena, and the Algerian defense bore a great burden, but it did not last long, as Aubrey Modiba sent a cross ball, which Shaluleli grabbed with his head in the heart of the goal Alexis Kunduz (6).

The guests continued their danger and had several chances in front of them, in exchange for zero danger from the Algerian side in the goal of goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, and the impact of a series of through passes that Aubrey started in depth to Shalulili and from him crosswise, and New Mayema, far from control, followed it strong in the net (20).

Before the end of the first half, the hosts reduced the score when Youssef Al-Awafi took a corner kick and played it crossly, which Miloud Al-Rubaie turned his head into the goal, taking advantage of the wrong exit of goalkeeper Williams (45 + 3).

The red and white team entered the second half strongly, seeking to equalize and rectify the situation, but the South African team managed to consolidate the score quickly when Zouani, who led a counterattack, took advantage of the Algerian defense's confusion, and the ball accidentally hit Chaluli, so he followed it up with a deceptive shot into the net (51).

The Algerian team tried again to return, but failed to stop the offensive tide of Sundowns, which created wholesale opportunities and hit the crossbar after Zouani's shot (68).

And in the calculated time, instead of lost, Juleso Modao penetrated from the right side and passed a ball crosswise, which was blocked by Kunduz goalkeeper, to prepare in front of Cassius Maylola, so he followed it into the net (90 + 2).

Real Madrid, the defending champion, continued its series of victories and reduced the gap between it and its arch-rivals Barcelona, the leaders, by defeating its guest Celta Vigo 2-0, on Saturday, in the 30th round of the Spanish Football League .

Marco Asensio imposed himself as a star in the match, opening the scoring in the 42nd minute, and passing the ball for the second goal to Brazilian defender Eder Militao in the 48th minute.

"We will fight until the last game, as long as it is mathematically possible," Real's Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois told the DAZN broadcasting network.

He continued, "We have to try to win the next three matches, and then when we play in the cup final, we see how many points we have, and if there is a chance."

And he added, "Our task is to follow up on winning, not just to reduce the gap, but for the good feelings before the Champions League."

Real Madrid strengthened its second position, although its focus is on its favorite tournament in the European Champions League and the local cup final, raising its score to 65 points, to be 8 points behind its traditional rivals Barcelona, who will receive tomorrow the second pole of the capital, Atletico III, in a summit match.

The royal club entered its match against its guest, Celta Vigo, ecstatic from reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, by renewing its victory over Chelsea, England, in the last home contract, 2-0, on Tuesday, similar to the result of the first-leg match.

The European champion, who won his fourth successive victory in various competitions, set a final square date with Manchester City in a replay of last season's semi-finals, and he also faces Osasuna in the local cup final.

Real presents fluctuating levels in the league after losing two of its last four matches, against Barcelona (1-2 in stage 26) and at home against Villarreal (2-3 in stage 28), before achieving its second successive victory this evening after dropping Cadiz 2. Zero in the last stage.

Italian coach Carlo Anceloni made 5 changes to the winning squad against Chelsea, resting veterans Croatian Luka Modric and German Toni Kroos, but he pushed French striker Karim Benzema (35 years), who seemed upset when he took him out in front of the "Blues", but he failed this evening to score.

At the “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium, Asensio opened the scoring with the first shot between the three woods of the royal club before the end of the first half, after a pass from the Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who crossed his marker and passed the ball to the Spaniard, who followed it with his left foot into the net (42), in his eighth goal in the “La Liga”. This season.

It is Asensio's third goal in his last four matches for Real.

Real started the second half as he finished the first, as he doubled the score in the first Madrid attack after he got a corner kick carried out by the first goal, Asensio, followed by Brazilian Militao, with a header in the goal of goalkeeper Villar (48).

Real Sociedad strengthened its final, fourth place, qualifying for the Champions League, by defeating its guest, Rayo Vallecano, 2-1 in fatal time and with friendly fire.

Rayo Vallecano scored the first goal through Essie Palason Camacho, after snatching the ball from John Pacheco from the middle of the field (57), and Sociedad responded two minutes later thanks to the Norwegian Alexander Sorloth through a pass from Aihn Munos (59).

While the match was taking its last breath, Sociedad scored the three points to overturn thanks to friendly fire when French defender Lorient Lejeune accidentally scored in his team's goal (81).

Sociedad, who won his sixteenth win this season, raised his score to 54 points in fourth place.
Athletic Bilbao continued its winning streak by beating Almeria 2-1.

It is the third successive victory for Bilbao after beating Espanyol Barcelona 2-1 and Real Sociedad 2-0 in the 28th and 29th stages, respectively, to raise its score to 46 points in seventh place and enhance its chances of a European position in the next season.

It is also the fourth victory for the Basque club in its last five matches in the league against a draw, noting that its last loss dates back to stage 25 against Barcelona, 0-1.

Bilbao advanced with goals from Neco Williams (9) and Oscar de Marcos (56), before Almeria scored a late goal through Alex Santis (90 + 2).

Osasuna returned to the winning streak by defeating its guest, Real Betis, 3-2.

Osasuna, who lost 2-1 to Rayo Vallecano in the last stage, advanced with two goals from Croatian Ante Bodemir (6 and 11), and Betis narrowed the difference to a goal through Juan Miranda (16).

Osasuna added the third before the end of the first half, thanks to John Moncayola (41), while Argentine defender Guido Rodrigues scored the goal to reduce Betis, who failed to increase his yield to lose.

Real Betis' balance froze at 48 points in fifth place, while Osasuna, who reached the final of the local cup, where it will meet Real Madrid by eliminating Bilbao in particular, raised its score to 41 points in eighth place temporarily.

England Cup: Manchester City is first party in the final, with three Algerian Mahrez

Manchester City's Algerian international wing, Riyad Mahrez, scored a hat-trick for his team against Sheffield United from the Championship on Saturday, to lead them to the final of the England Football Cup .

Mahrez's goals came in the 43rd minutes from a penalty kick, 61 and 66.

And City is waiting for the final match scheduled for Wembley Stadium, where the semi-final and final matches will be held a few years ago, on the third of next June, its neighbors Manchester United or South Brighton, who will face each other on Sunday.

City thus maintained its hopes of winning the treble (the domestic league, the cup and the European Champions League), an achievement that only Manchester United achieved in England in 1999.

Manchester City occupies second place in the English Premier League, 5 points behind leaders Arsenal, who played two more matches, noting that the two teams will face each other at the Etihad Stadium in an upcoming match next Wednesday.

City also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, where it plays against Real Madrid, the Spanish champions.

Spanish City coach Pep Guardiola made six substitutions to the squad that competed in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich (1-1) on Wednesday, the most prominent of which was the participation of Mahrez in particular and Argentine striker Julian Alvares, and the midfielders also relieved the Belgian playmaker Kevin. De Bruyne and Spaniard Rodri.

Guardiola said about Mahrez's achievement, "Riyad always complains to me when he does not play. But when he plays, he is always on time, and this is the most important. He is a player for the world stage. I am completely satisfied with Riyad."

He continued, "We saw the great level of Riyadh several years ago when he was in the ranks of Leicester City, he has great ambition to score goals."

As usual, City controlled the ball by a large percentage, but faced an organized defense from its opponent, who plays in the "Championship" league, until the referee awarded him a penalty kick after obstructing the Portuguese Bernardo Silva inside the area, so Mahrez successfully attacked it two minutes before the end of the first half.

Mahrez succeeded in adding the second goal after he walked the ball without any interference and fired it into the net (61).

The Algerian scored the hat-trick when he received a ball from Jack Grealish, and fired it at Al-Tayer into the net (66).

Mahrez became the first player to score a hat-trick in the England Cup semi-finals since Manchester United's Alex Dawson scored against Fulham in 1958, according to the Opta statistics agency.

Mahrez said, "I feel great (by scoring a hat-trick). I don't know which goal is the most beautiful, frankly. We played very seriously."

He added, "Playing in the cup final means a lot to us. We want to make efforts in all competitions in which we participate. Now we have to focus on the league and our next match against Arsenal."

Lens, winner of 13 home matches this season, which is the best record in the five major European leagues, started the match strongly, knowing that he inflicted a severe loss on Monaco in the first leg 4-1 on August 20 at Louis II Stadium in the emirate.

Belgian striker Louis Openda, who has been in form this season, opened the scoring for Lens after 9 minutes.

Soon, Obenda himself added the second goal in the 18th minute, taking advantage of a cross pass, and his shot hit the crossbar and fell behind the line, raising his tally to 17 goals this season.

Lens almost consolidated its lead, but Ivorian midfielder Sekou Fofana's missile hit the crossbar a minute before the end of the first half.

And after the referee ruled out a goal by Adrian Thomason early in the second half for offside (49), the same player succeeded in settling the score by a large percentage in favor of Lens when he scored the third goal for him after an individual effort by Opanda (56).

Lens thus compensated for its loss in the last round against Paris Saint-Germain 1-3, and it also put an end to a series of four matches that Monaco had not suffered a loss (3 wins against one draw).
In a second match, Auxerre tied with Lille 1-1.

The stage ends on Sunday, with Reims meeting with Strasbourg, Ajaccio with Brest, Nantes with Troyes, Nice with Clermont-Ferrand, Lorient with Toulouse and Montpellier with Rennes.

Paris Saint-Germain opened the stage by defeating Angers 2-1, to get closer and closer to its eleventh title in its history.

German Championship: Dortmund snatches the lead from losing Bayern with a "knockout"

Borussia Dortmund did not miss the opportunity to snatch the lead from its arch-rival Bayern Munich, taking advantage of the precious gift that Mainz gave him earlier by knocking out the Bavarian giants 1-3 on Saturday, to sweep away its guest, Eintracht Frankfurt, 4-0, in the 29th stage of the German League . for football.

Borussia Dortmund raised its lead to 60 points, one point ahead of Bayern, who suffered its fourth loss this season, foreshadowing a fierce struggle for the title 5 stages before the end.

At his “Signal Iduna Park” stadium, Dortmund took advantage of Frankfurt’s weak moments in the first half to settle the match in his favor thanks to the Englishman Jude Bellingham (19), Dutchman Doniel Mallen (24) and Mats Hummels (41).

Maln scored the second personal goal for him and the fourth for his team in the 66th minute of the second half, raising his tally to 7 goals this season in the league.

Dortmund has not won the title since the 2011-2012 season, and Bayern has dominated it after that in the past ten seasons.
"This is how we have to play if we want to be at the top," Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl told Sky Sports. "We know there are still difficult steps to go through."

Dortmund will play in its next five matches against Bochum (fifteenth), Wolfsburg (eighth), Borussia Mönchengladbach (tenth), Augsburg (13th) and against Mainz VI.

Bayern failed to maintain its advantage after opening the scoring through Senegalese striker Sadio Mane (29), Laird Mainz with a hat-trick thanks to French striker Ludovic Ajork (65), Luxembourgish Leandro Barreiro Martins (73) and Spanish substitute Aaron Martin Caricol (79).

Mainz, who had not lost since February 11, advanced to sixth place temporarily, with 45 points, to compete with the Danish coach Bo Svenson for European positions.

Martin Schmidt, sporting director of Mainz, who has not lost in 10 league matches, said he was "at a loss for words" to explain the level of his team, stressing that "what the team is doing is unbelievable."

And the failures of the Bavarian giant, who is going through a difficult period, followed with the arrival of his new coach, Thomas Tuchel, instead of Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed from his duties, as he exited the local cup and then from the quarter-finals of the European Champions League against Manchester City (lost 0-3 in the first leg and drew 1-1 in the forth). .
"They dealt us a fatal blow," Tuchel said in an interview with German television after the match, stressing that the team "must do its best now to respond."

Tuchel added that he would give his players three days off before next week's match against bottom club Hertha Berlin, who lost 4-2 to Werder Bremen on the same day.

"They came out of nowhere and there was no pressure. We didn't have the energy to respond to that, I don't know why."

Tuchel made several changes to the starting line-up after the tie against City, keeping French Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané on the bench, and replacing Canadian Alfonso Davis, Manet and Thomas Mueller. He also missed the efforts of Frenchman Benjamin Pavard to be suspended, who was added to the absence of compatriot Lucas Hernandez and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer due to injury.

Mane scored a goal with a "Loeb" drop ball after confronting goalkeeper Robin Zentner after a deep pass from Jamal Musiala, but the referee rejected it due to the offside of the Senegalese striker (15).

Bayern suffered a moral blow after Tuchel was forced to remove Davis after suffering an injury, and to introduce Moroccan defender Nosair Mazraoui in his place 10 minutes after the whistle at the start of the first half.

Bayern waited for the 29th minute to open the scoring after a solo effort from Portuguese Joao Cancelo on the left side, to pass a cross to the second post, followed by Mane's header into the net, in his seventh goal this season in the "Bundesliga".

And from a fatal mistake by the Swiss goalkeeper Jan Sommer, who evaded a ball shot by South Korean Jae-Sung Lee from him inside the area, and it reached the striker Ajurk, who followed it into the net, equalizing (65).

Mainz added the second, after pressure from the Austrian, Karim Onicevo, on Bayern's Croatian defender, Josep Stanisic, to pass the first ball to Martins at the penalty mark, which he easily followed into the net (73).

Tuchel pushed the young 17-year-old French striker Matthijs Till and the Dutchman Ryan Gravenburch instead of veteran Mueller and Joshua Kimmich (74) to give a dose of confidence, but Bayern fell into the ban by receiving his third after a left shot from inside the area to substitute Martin Karikol (79).
Wolfsburg returned to the winning streak after two draws and a loss by sweeping Bochum 5-1.

He scored for the Swedish winner, Matthias Svanberg (10 and 56), the Polish Jacob Kaminski (21), the Austrian Patrick Wimmer (33), and substitute Luka Waldschmidt (77). and for the loser, substitute Moritz Proczynski (68).

Colin beat Hoffenheim 3-1, raising its tally to 35 points in eleventh place.
Werder Bremen deepened the wounds of Hertha Berlin, bottom of the standings, by defeating them 4-2.

Marvin Doksch imposed himself as a star in the match, scoring a hat-trick in the 6th, 27th and 51st minutes, and Mitchell Visser added the fourth (63).

He scored for Hertha Berlin, who re-contracted with Hungarian coach Pal Darday with the aim of trying to save him from relegation, similar to his achievement in 2021, Jessek Ngankam (68) and Belgian Dodi Lukibakio (79 from a penalty kick).

Italian Championship: Lazio wastes 3 valuable points in the race towards the Champions League

Lazio wasted three valuable points at home in its quest to snatch one of the qualifying places for the Champions League, by falling to its guest Turin 0-1 in the thirty-first stage of the Italian Football League , and is threatened with losing second place in favor of Juventus, who hosts leaders Napoli on Sunday.

Lazio's balance froze at 61 points compared to 59 for Juventus, whose hopes of participating in the Champions League revived after he succeeded in his appeal after deducting 15 points from his balance because, according to mathematical justice, he regularly recorded exaggerated capital gains in his accounts when selling some players.

Roma, Lazio's neighbor, with whom he shares the Olympic Stadium in the capital, can also approach him by two points in the event of his victory outside his stadium against Atalanta on Monday at the end of the stage.

The loss is the first for Lazio since falling to Atalanta 0-2 on February 12 at home as well, before achieving eight successive victories.

Serbian Ivan Ilic scored the only goal of the match with a shot from the outskirts of the area two minutes before the end of the first half.
Lazio top scorer Ciro Immobile participated during the second half after suffering a terrible traffic accident a few days ago when a train invaded his car and he was bruised.

Salerentina beat Sassuolo 3-0, while Sampdoria later meets Spestia.

Seized 5 tons of cannabis and 60 kilograms of cocaine in the port of Tangier Med

On Saturday, the Moroccan police seized 5.4 tons of cannabis in the port of Tangier Med, which was loaded into a truck to be transported to Spain , according to the General Directorate of National Security.

A statement by the directorate stated that "police elements in the Tangier Med port security area managed, in coordination with customs services, to thwart an attempt to smuggle five tons and 438 kilograms of shira (cannabis) internationally, which was loaded on a truck for international transportation of goods."

He added that preliminary investigations showed that the truck driver was trying to use "false export documents when preparing to travel to Spain."

The statement referred to the driver, "a 45-year-old Moroccan citizen", who was arrested and kept "under the measure of theoretical guard, subject to investigation."

He explained that the inspection of the truck showed that "large shipments of shira" were stored in the form of "sheets" inside "specially prepared cavities in the trailer and the internal structure of the truck."

The Kingdom of Morocco is the largest producer of cannabis in the world, according to the United Nations.

Moroccan police seized about 100 tons of cannabis in 2022, and this amount is half of what was seized in the previous year, according to an annual report by the General Directorate of National Security.

On the other hand, the General Directorate of National Security and Customs seized, in another operation, Thursday, 60 kilograms of cocaine in a refrigeration container in the port of Tangiers Med as well, according to the local police.

The drugs were "carefully wrapped inside the guts of frozen tuna fish" in a refrigerated container from Ecuador and destined for Spain via the port.

For years, the Moroccan police have been seizing large quantities of cocaine if South American cartels use the kingdom as a passage to Europe.

A judicial investigation has been opened in the case under the supervision of the competent public prosecution and in coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

An immersive exhibition on the world of Harry Potter in Paris

An immersive exhibition, which opened Friday in Paris and continues until October 1, deals with the magical world of Harry Potter and the story of the birth of the famous novel and the films that have been adapted from it over the past twenty-five years.

In the exhibition center in Porte de Versailles, visitors log in with a bracelet, choose the house they would like to live in for a moment, whether fan favorite Gryffindor (the home of Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione), Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, then proceed to pick out their wand and pet Who protects them, or what is known as "Patronos", to become students at the "Hogwarts" School for Wizards.

And by means of the magic phrase "Alhomura", the first of the twenty-five halls of the exhibition, with a total area of four thousand square meters, opens, including those that represent the classrooms, the house of the giant Hagrid, the Ministry of Magic, and Harry's small room under the stairs of his aunt and husband's house, and other landmarks.

"A mix of authentic accessories and costumes from all of the core Harry Potter films," as well as "Fantastic Beasts" and "The Cursed Child" derived from the original series, are displayed "in an environment So immersive."

The music changes according to the setting and the lighting. In the botany class, the smell of flowers and squeaky plants is heard. In Hagrid, the smell of firewood wafts from the fireplace.

The bracelet allows visitors to participate in games and competitions in which they win points for their home.

It's also possible to "move" in magic shoes and practice playing Quidditch, the wizard's favorite, but... without riding a flying broom.

The visitor also gets acquainted with the clothing industry and movie decorations.

Holding the exhibition in France constitutes a stop in a global tour that included the United States and Austria. More than 175,000 tickets were sold on the eve of the opening, including "20,000 tickets on the first day of sale," according to Tom Zeller.

He explains that the organizers were keen to hold the exhibition in France, knowing that "there are many fans and it is not easy for them to go to the United States or London," where there are special parks for Harry Potter. "Travel is expensive, so we brought magic to Paris," he added.

The price of the entry card ranges between 19 euros for children under fifteen and 25 euros for those over this age.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling's controversial stances on transgender issues are unlikely to affect the show's success.

Warner Bros., which owns the rights to the series, Philip Rukol, says Rowling's views are "her own."

"We've been working with her for years, and her creative and narrative genius is unparalleled," he says.

He notes that Rowling "originally worked on this exhibition to make sure every detail was respected" in order not to "disappoint the visitors".

The series of Harry Potter books, which Rowling began issuing in 1997 and includes seven parts that were adapted from cinema, tells the story of the struggle of the young wizard Harry Potter with Lord Voldemort, the evil wizard who is looking for immortality.

The eight books and films have generated billions of dollars in sales. Philip Rokol believes that the passion for the novel and the films based on it "is passed on from one generation to the next."

The most recent example of this is that the video game "Hogwarts Legacy" has generated very large revenues since its launch last February, with 12 million copies sold, with revenues of $850 million in two weeks.

Harry Potter fans are looking forward to another Quidditch game, which is expected to be released "next year," according to Rockol.

The blue verification mark on Twitter belongs to celebrity accounts without their consent

After the new Twitter authentication system aroused discontent among users around the world when it was implemented a few days ago, the situation seemed more complicated on Saturday, with the return of the famous blue signs to the accounts of some media outlets or personalities, even without the consent of their owners.

American rapper Lil Nas X tweeted, "I swear I didn't pay to subscribe to Twitter Blue, you'll feel my wrath, Tesla man" (referring to Elon Musk, who also owns the company that specializes in electric cars).

And after it was previously free and a guarantee of the authenticity of the accounts and the fame of their owners, the blue mark now means that the user is subscribed to “Twitter Blue” (for $ 8 per month), and that his phone number has been verified by the platform.

On Thursday, accounts with the old blue badge lost that mark for users who had not paid for the new service, following the strategy laid out by Elon Musk over the winter to verify accounts and generate additional revenue.

But a tiny fraction of those with old blue ticks, less than 5 percent of the 407,000 accounts involved, subscribed to Twitter Blue, according to researcher Travis Brown.

Over Friday and Saturday, more and more people found the blue tick attached to their accounts, seemingly without any action on their part, such as writer Stephen King, NBA champion LeBron James, or former President Donald Trump.

"No means no, guys," tweeted technology journalist Kara Swisher, explaining that her account had been subjected to "forced verification" without her "consent."

An hour after announcing that she would not pay "eight dollars a month for a blue tick and crap," Swisher added, "People need to know: Does Elon like me for who I am or for my 1.49 million followers?"

Many users whose accounts were documented against their will were keen to confirm that they had nothing to do with the matter, after the controversial sign became a symbol of support for Elon Musk.

"Please note that I have not signed up for Twitter Blue, although for some mysterious reason the blue tick has reappeared (on my account)," said author Rick Wilson.

And the progressive Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, who poked fun at Elon Musk's "out of control impulsiveness" last July, wrote Saturday, "I have nothing to do with it and I'm certainly not paying."

The head of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX responded with a photo showing a child smeared with tomato ketchup, crying in front of a plate of pasta and wearing a bib with a blue authentication tag.

Musk had indicated on Friday that he had "self-paid for some of the subscriptions."

And accounts of deceased people, such as the famous American chef Anthony Bourdain, got the new blue badge.
The mark also appeared on several official media accounts, including even the New York Times, which lost its notarization mark in early April after Elon Musk described the information it published as "propaganda."

The accounts of some major news organizations feature a gold badge designated for "verified organizations" that pay at least $1,000 per month.

But American Public Broadcasting Corporation (NPR) and Canadian public media group CBC-Radio Canada had not yet resumed their tweets as of Saturday.

These two media organizations recently suspended their activities on Twitter in protest of the labels attached to their accounts by the network, which classified them as "government-funded media" or "state-affiliated", terms previously reserved for non-independent government-funded media.

On Friday, the Elon Musk-owned platform removed these tags, even from accounts of the official Chinese agency Xinhua (New China) or Russia's RT.

"Was the real purpose of all this fuss about (American Public Radio) NPR to help China and Russia?" Kara Swisher asked Saturday. for these systems.

AFP did not contact Twitter, after the network's official response to the media became limited to an automatic message bearing an emoji in the form of a pile of excrement.

Four Swiss activists walked 224 kilometers to demand greater climate action

Thousands of people gathered in Bern on Saturday to welcome four female climate activists who have walked 224 kilometers across Switzerland to demand greater action in climate protection.

On April 1, the "blue march" of the four women, university professor Julia Steinberger, lawyer Irene Wettstein, infectious disease specialist Valerie Dacrimon and political scientist Bastien Guerchel, began on April 1.

The initiative aimed to demand that the Swiss authorities make a greater effort to respect the Paris Climate Agreement signed in 2015.

In an online petition, the activists demanded that Switzerland make it "a top priority to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half before 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050".

Hundreds of people, most of them women activists, accompanied the four activists at various stages of their journey, and their number reached about 150 in the last part of it on Saturday, according to the "ETS" news agency.

They were received in front of the government and parliament headquarters in Bern by about four thousand people, according to the agency.

Summer flight reservations are filling up... despite the high ticket prices

Airline ticket prices are rising, while inflation is undermining purchasing power, but airlines in Europe confirm summer bookings are full, hoping to turn the page on their crisis after passing the peak of the Covid virus outbreak.

Some companies have not fully resumed their operational capacity, which was reduced during the health crisis, while Airbus and Boeing are facing difficulties in delivering new aircraft on time, but customers are accepting airline tickets in greater numbers than they were in 2022.

In these circumstances, the repercussions of the law of supply and demand are evident. In France, for example, ticket prices increased by 23.6% on an annual basis in the first quarter of 2023, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Environmental Transformation.

One of the most important reasons for the increase in ticket prices is the increase in the price of fuel since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as jet fuel represents about 30% of airline costs.

"Because of the 71% year-on-year increase in oil prices, our average tariff has increased by 31%," EasyJet CEO Johan Lundgren told AFP.

However, there are other factors such as the "very sharp increase in maintenance costs" associated with the scarcity of some minerals and the disruption of supply chains, according to Marc Rocher, the head of the French companies "Air Caraib" and "Français Bay".

Rocher also notes the implications of airline employee pay increases for ticket prices.

However, Lundgren stresses that "we don't see a weakness in demand", although customers "are looking for the best value for their money".

Nicolas Henin, assistant general manager of Transavia France in charge of sales and marketing, shares this sentiment, and says he hears "a lot of feedback" from customers who have noted the relatively high cost of tickets.

But Henein points out that "at the moment, we haven't seen any impact on demand," although "it's something we're watching closely."

"Since the pandemic, people have given more priority to travel," Lundgren said.

Transavia's summer flights to Greece, one of its main destinations, reported 60% fullness by mid-April.

The company also opened new destinations (Dakar, Yerevan, Paphos, etc.) and increased its fleet to 71 aircraft. The low-cost airline of the "Air France-KLM" group has seen its capacity increase by 65% over four years.

Maghreb cities are among the other destinations that are witnessing a "very significant recovery," because "people have not been able to visit them to see their families for a while," according to Hanin. Algeria has only recently lifted restrictions on flights.

Having tended to book very late during the pandemic amid uncertainty about border closures, "more selective" customers are also gradually returning to their old behaviour, such as booking tickets five months in advance for distant destinations, says Rocher.

There is a lot of good news for the aviation sector, which is in "a very good situation, in a state of complete recovery" after the Covid nightmare, according to Alex Partners expert Pascal Fabre.

During a recent meeting with the press, the specialist pointed out that the price hike "brought many companies a higher sales volume in 2022 than they were before the crisis," and transport companies "achieved returns and started to reduce indebtedness."

This is the case of the "Air France-KLM" company, which announced earlier this week that it had "paid in full" the assistance it received from the French state to enable it to overcome the health crisis.

However, there are those who warn against excessive optimism, as actors in the sector warn of a recurrence of staff shortages during the peak season, similar to last summer, which could cause chaos, which they also experienced in March during the strike of air traffic controllers in France.

Biden: Evacuation of US embassy staff from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum

US President Joe Biden announced late Saturday that US forces carried out a mission to evacuate US embassy staff from Khartoum , calling for an end to the fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.

′′ Today, on my orders, US forces carried out an operation to remove government employees from Khartoum, Biden said in a statement.

Biden expressed his thanks for the "extraordinary skill of our soldiers who carried them to safety," adding that Djibouti, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia had helped in the process.

As the fighting entered its second week, Biden urged an "immediate and unconditional ceasefire," "unhindered humanitarian access," and respect for "the will of the people of Sudan."

In a separate statement, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said he had ordered the evacuation of US embassy staff in Khartoum and their families due to "terrible and growing security risks" amid fighting that has so far claimed hundreds of lives, in addition to thousands of wounded.

"We remind both warring parties of their obligations under international humanitarian law, including those relating to the protection of civilians," Blinken said, repeating his earlier calls for an extension of the ceasefire reached during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

US Lieutenant General Douglas Sims told reporters that more than 100 US special operations personnel took part in the evacuation, which was attended by three CH-47 Chinook helicopters, which flew from Djibouti to Ethiopia and then to Sudan.

Under Secretary of State John Bass indicated that less than 100 people have been evacuated, including some foreign diplomats, and that it is unlikely that there will be a concerted effort by the US government to evacuate US citizens from Sudan in the coming days.

The Rapid Support Forces wrote on Twitter that, "at dawn today, Sunday, in coordination with the US forces' mission consisting of 6 planes for the purpose of evacuating diplomats and their families, they supervised the necessary arrangements that preceded the evacuation."

However, Bass confirmed that the operation was "conducted by the US Department of Defense alone," noting that the Rapid Support Forces "cooperated to the extent of not firing at our members."

Since its outbreak on April 15, battles between the army, led by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, led by Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, known as "Hamidti", have caused hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.

The two former allies seized all power in a coup in 2021, removing the civilians who shared power with them. However, the differences and the struggle for power soon began between them, although they remained latent in the first period.

France begins the process of evacuating its citizens from Sudan

France has begun a "rapid evacuation" of its citizens and diplomatic staff from Sudan , where violent fighting has entered its second week, the French Foreign Ministry announced Sunday.

And the French Foreign Ministry pointed out that the process will also include European citizens and others from “allied partner countries,” without providing additional details.

A diplomatic source said that both the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces "provided security guarantees" that would allow this operation to take place.

The same source pointed out that about 250 French citizens reside in Sudan.

The announcement of the French initiative comes hours after US President Joe Biden announced that US forces carried out a mission to evacuate US embassy staff from Khartoum.

Netanyahu cancels speech for fear of protesters in Tel Aviv

Last night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled a speech he was to deliver at the North American Conference of Jewish Federations.

Netanyahu was to deliver his speech through a live broadcast from the "fairgrounds" in Tel Aviv , but he feared that because of the intention of the protesters against "judicial reforms" to storm the place, as reported by the Hebrew website Ynet.

The participants in the protests are constantly coordinating their steps to besiege Netanyahu with marches in every public place he reaches, which is what happened this morning when he arrived to give his testimony before the Tel Aviv District Court in the case of journalist Ben Caspit.
