The Israeli occupation demands information from mediators about the Bibas family

Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation asked the mediators who sponsored the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip for information regarding the family members of Yarden Bibas, who was released by Hamas, as part of the fourth batch of hostage and prisoner exchange.

Referring to Bibas' wife and two children, the Israeli coordinator for hostage affairs, Gal Hirsch, said in a statement that "the Bibas family... has been living in constant fear for their lives for a long time... and we continue to demand information about their condition from intermediaries."

The release of Bibas has once again shed light on the fate of his wife, Sheri, and their two young sons, who were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz. A video of their abduction by armed men shows Sheri wrapping her children, Arbel and Kfir, in a blanket. Kfir was the youngest of about 250 people taken on Oct. 7.

The story has sparked a sense of helplessness and anger in Israel, where the Bibas family has become a household name.

Hamas said Sheri and her two sons were killed in an Israeli air strike in the early months of the Gaza war.

Experts: Rebuilding the completely collapsed health system in the Gaza Strip will require 12 years

Health experts concluded during a solidarity event with the Gaza Strip that "the health system has completely collapsed throughout the Strip as a result of the Israeli war of extermination, and its reconstruction requires about 12 years."

This came during an event organized today, Saturday, by a group of health workers, under the title "The Great Protest in the White Tent", in front of the United Nations office in the Swiss city of Geneva, to shed light on the events in Gaza.

Participants described Israel's practices in the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023, as "genocide," stressing the need not to remain silent about it.

“An international health coalition has been formed to support Gaza,” said Huseyin Durmaz, an activist from Turkey who is a member of the Global Health Initiative and is participating in the protest. “More than 100 health organizations from more than 12 countries are currently active at the protest site,” he said, adding that “other organizations from more than 50 countries have signed the statements we published or shown solidarity by organizing simultaneous protests.”

According to the activists' estimates, "even if they were allowed to enter Gaza without any conditions, it would take 12 years to build everything."

The activist and participant in the event, the French health worker of Algerian origin, Nouria Belhaj, said, “We, as health workers, are particularly affected by what is happening to our colleagues in Palestine, and we consider that we have a sacred mission towards our patients, and we must be in complete solidarity with them.”

Sarah Gali, a Dutch health worker, said the event called on the United Nations to protect health workers in Gaza and the West Bank "because they are under attack like we have never seen before in our lifetimes."

Ghali pointed out that the health situation in Gaza has reached a "catastrophic level, with more than 1,400 attacks on health facilities since October 7, 2023," resulting in the deaths of more than 1,000 health workers.

Report: Israeli authorities deny Jerusalemites building permits and expand home demolitions

A report prepared by the National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements stated that the policy of demolishing citizens’ homes in occupied Jerusalem and other areas of the West Bank is returning to the forefront of events, but with greater momentum under pressure from parties in the ruling coalition in Israel, especially the “Religious Zionism” party headed by Bezalel Smotrich and “Jewish Power” party headed by Itamar Ben Gvir, and with the active participation of influential parties in the Likud party and the “Land of Israel Lobby” coalition in the Israeli Knesset.

The office added in its weekly settlement report issued today, Saturday, that the occupation authorities notified the residents of the village of Al-Nu'man (Khallet Al-Nu'man) last Sunday of the demolition of all the village's homes, in preparation for annexing it to the borders of the occupied city of Jerusalem. It consists of 45 homes threatened with demolition on the pretext of lacking a license, after the occupation municipality in Jerusalem stormed the village and distributed demolition notices.

The head of the local council in the village, Jamal Al-Darawi, explained that the demolition decisions came under the pretext of lack of a permit, noting that the village was built before 1948 on an area of 1,500 dunams, with a population of about 150 people in houses built of old stone.

The village of Khallet al-Nu'man is located on the southeastern edge of the city of Jerusalem, hundreds of meters north of the city of Beit Sahour. It was inhabited by the first Palestinians in the thirties of the last century.

In 1967, after the occupation of the West Bank, Israel registered the villagers as residents of the West Bank and did not issue them Israeli identity cards, as is the case with most Palestinians living in those areas of Jerusalem and its environs that Israel later annexed, and continued to treat them as “illegal residents.”

Based on this position, the occupation authorities prevented the villagers from being present in the neighborhoods and villages that were annexed to Jerusalem. In this case, the Jerusalem Municipality refused to provide them with the necessary services such as water, sewage networks and garbage disposal. It also refrained from establishing maps and plans for the village’s infrastructure and structure, which prevented the residents from obtaining building permits. This situation continued in the lives of the villagers for many years.

The construction of the racist separation wall, which was built by the occupation forces after the Al-Aqsa Intifada along the southern borders of the city, exacerbated the deterioration of the situation in this village, which was isolated by the wall from the city of Beit Sahour and the rest of the villages and towns of the West Bank in an attempt to displace its residents.

These days, the village of Khallet al-Nu'man is not alone in facing plans for demolition, displacement and ethnic cleansing. Alongside it, the residents of the town of Silwan are threatened by the same plan.

Last Sunday, hundreds of the town’s residents held a sit-in in front of the municipality in Jerusalem, protesting the policy of house demolitions and eviction orders carried out by the occupation forces against the town’s residents. Activists from the Israeli left participated in the sit-in, raising banners denouncing the house demolitions and demanding that they be stopped.

The town of Silwan is not like the village of Khallet al-Nu'man. It is a large town in which about 59,000 Jerusalemites live. The current threat of forced displacement surrounds about 7,500 citizens, who live in 6 neighborhoods.

These people are threatened with either having their homes demolished under the pretext of building without a permit, or with being displaced for the benefit of Israeli colonial associations.

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the occupation authorities had carried out 320 demolitions, including more than 87 in the town of Silwan between October 2023 and November 2024, and that there are more than 30,000 properties in East Jerusalem threatened with demolition, which will lead to displacement and cause great losses in the lives of tens of thousands of Jerusalemites.

The Jerusalem Governorate estimates that there are 22,000 homes and facilities in East Jerusalem, including 7,000 in the town of Silwan, which the municipality, or the so-called “District Committee for Building and Planning,” claims are illegal, and that a number of homes and facilities were demolished without notice, or without waiting for a “judicial” decision regarding the demolition.

The governorate stated that the town of Silwan in particular is being systematically targeted, especially the neighborhoods of Al-Bustan, Wadi Al-Rababa, and Wadi Qaddum, due to their proximity to Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to implement the occupation’s plans to establish what are called “Biblical Gardens” and what is called “King’s Garden” on the ruins of homes and on the lands of the neighborhood’s owners.

The number of demolition notices that the occupation authorities and municipality plan to implement increases from year to year. Before October 7, 2023, there were 25,000 demolition notices in Jerusalem. After that date, the total number of notices increased by about 7,000, becoming 32,000, after Itamar Ben Gvir received the entire file.

According to the report, the year 2023 witnessed the demolition of about 150 residential buildings, 70 of which were self-demolitions, while the year 2022 witnessed the demolition of 143 dwellings, 71 of which were self-demolitions, and the year 2021 witnessed about 181 demolition operations, 97 of which were self-demolitions.

Data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicate that the occupation authorities demolished 215 buildings in East Jerusalem during the year 2024, and more than 40,000 citizens were affected.

Based on this data, the highest number of demolitions were in the town of Silwan, where (41) buildings were demolished, followed by Jabal Mukaber (34), Al-Walaja (27), Al-Issawiya (24), Beit Hanina (17), At-Tur (11), Sur Baher (10), Ras Al-Amud (9), Shuafat (9), Wadi Al-Joz (8), Al-Thawri neighborhood (5), Shuafat camp (4), Beit Safafa (3), Al-Zaim (3), Bab Al-Sahira (2), Bir Ona (2), the Old City (2), and Al-Qanbar (2). The remaining demolitions were distributed in Jaba’, Sheikh Jarrah, and Umm Tuba.

The data indicates that this number rises to 402 if the Jerusalem Governorate area is included, and it is clear that the areas that witnessed the most demolitions are Anata, where (47) buildings were demolished, Hizma (23), South Anata “Aar al-Baik” (18), Sur Baher (15), Jaba’ “Bedouin community” (14), North Anata (14), al-Za’im (14), Biddu (11), Rafat (11), Nabi Samwil (10), Qalandia (10), Beit Anan (7), al-Jib (2), Beit Hanina “al-Barid suburb” (2), al-Ram (1), and Qalandia camp (1).

This destructive policy was not limited to the city of Jerusalem and its surroundings, but rather extended over a wide area to cover most of the West Bank, in a clear indication of the intentions behind the future of the Palestinian territories under occupation.

Tens of thousands of new colonial units are being pushed into the occupation authorities’ circles, to deepen colonialism and expand its geographical area, while demolition notices and operations threaten the lives of Palestinian citizens.

According to OCHA, the occupation army demolished 1,058 Palestinian facilities in Area C during 2024, including 192 inhabited homes. These demolitions led to the displacement of 860 citizens, and affected about 38,000 others during the same period.

The occupation government realizes that the policy of demolition, displacement and ethnic cleansing is inconsistent with international law and international legitimacy, but it continues to do so in full view of the international community, in light of its inability to stop it, as Article 25/1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 11/1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 stipulate that “the demolition of homes is a clear violation of international human rights declarations and agreements that guarantee the right of the individual to adequate housing.”

Article 53 of the Convention also prohibits the destruction by the occupying power of any movable or immovable property of individuals or groups.

International criminal law also considers the large-scale demolition of homes an illegal act and a violation of international law. According to Article 8/2 of the Statute of the International Criminal Court, “the extensive destruction of property, not justified by military necessity, constitutes a war crime.”

On another level, the Israeli Knesset has approved in principle the cancellation of the Jordanian law in effect in the West Bank regarding the leasing and sale of real estate to foreigners, even though the Knesset does not have the authority to impose laws on occupied lands, as this law flouts all international laws that prohibit dealing in any way in lands under occupation.

The bill was supported by 58 members, while 33 members opposed it. It will be referred to the Knesset Committee, which will set a date for a vote on it later, with 3 readings.

Last week, the Israeli Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved a bill that allows settlers to purchase land in the occupied West Bank, in a manner that contradicts international law and opens the door wide to forging land purchase contracts. It referred the bill to the Knesset General Assembly for a vote. The bill was submitted by MK Moshe Solomon, from the Religious Zionism Party, on behalf of the “Land of Israel Lobby” in the Knesset, and was signed by 40 members of the lobby.

The bill states that "anyone can purchase rights to land in the Judea and Samaria area (the West Bank) as anywhere else."

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation had discussed this bill in mid-November, but did not decide to refer it to the Knesset for a vote at that time.

This legislation was passed despite the fact that in the current situation, settlers cannot directly purchase land in the West Bank, except through companies registered in the companies registry of the occupation authorities, and the issuance of a permit for such a deal, after the military commander of the West Bank issued a military order in 1971, allowing such indirect deals.

The Israeli Peace Now movement warned that the bill is “another annexation step initiated by the right-wing salvation movement,” and that the bill seeks to allow settlers to purchase land without any oversight throughout the West Bank.

The movement added that "the bill gives a small group of extremist settlers the ability to buy land and then establish settlements on it, whether in the heart of Hebron or anywhere else.

Moreover, the Knesset has no authority to enact laws in an area not under Israeli control, while an attempt to impose a law it enacts on an occupied area would mean annexation and a flagrant violation of international law.”

Peace Now reported in its latest report that the “Supreme Planning Council” of the occupation authorities, which is run by the Minister of Finance and Settlement in the Ministry of the Occupation Army, Bezalel Smotrich, decided last Wednesday to submit a plan to build 682 colonial units in three colonies: Halamish, built on the lands of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, with (531 units), Metzad, built on the lands of the Hebron Governorate, with (126 units), and Peduel, built on the lands of Salfit, with (25) units.

In the case of Halamish (Neve Tzuf), the plan calls for the construction of 531 settlement units, which means doubling the number of settlers there.

The movement added as a reminder that since the beginning of December 2024, weekly discussions have been held to advance colonial units in the colonies.

The number of units advanced varies each week, but the 682 units advanced in the discussion on January 29 is a record number for a single week, and since the formation of the current Netanyahu government, record numbers of settlement units have been advanced in the West Bank.

The weekly violations documented by the National Office for the Defense of the Land were as follows during the reporting period:

Jerusalem:

The occupation forces stormed, accompanied by demolition vehicles, and completely surrounded the Al-Khalayleh neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, and prevented citizens from approaching, before carrying out the demolition operation that targeted a butcher shop, a restaurant, a supermarket, a glass shop, and a stone-making workshop. These facilities constitute a source of livelihood for about 30 Jerusalemite families, and have been in existence since 2004.

In Sur Baher, the occupation forces demolished the Al-Taqwa prayer hall, as the occupation municipality crews, accompanied by police officers, stormed the village and surrounded a building, then raided the upper floor where the “Al-Taqwa prayer hall” was located, and demolished it.

Khalil:

Settlers attacked the homes of citizens in Khirbet al-Tuba in Masafer Yatta, south of Nablus, and burned a vehicle belonging to citizen Ali Awad, and caused material damage to a number of homes and residences in the area.

In the Khallet al-Farra area, west of the town of Yatta, the occupation forces notified the demolition of three houses and an agricultural barn, including two inhabited houses and another under construction, and gave their owners seven days before carrying out the demolition.

The occupation forces also notified the demolition of seven houses in the town of Idhna in the western region, specifically in Al-Ras and Wadi Al-Bir, and gave their owners seven days to evacuate them, after notifying them two months ago of the decision to demolish them.

In Khallet Taha in the town of Dura, the occupation forces demolished four houses and agricultural facilities in the area adjacent to the "Negohot" settlement, which was built on citizens' lands.

Bethlehem:

Settlers destroyed large quantities of cauliflower crops in the Khalayel Al-Loz area, southeast of Bethlehem, and released a flock of sheep to graze on citizens’ lands, which led to the destruction of 5,000 of the crop belonging to citizen Othman Abu Kamil.

In the town of Tuqu’, the occupation bulldozers demolished a two-storey inhabited house belonging to the brothers Osama and Tayseer Hassan Musa Suleiman. The house consists of two floors, each floor having an area of 300 square metres.

In the town of Al-Khader to the south, settlers proceeded to plow agricultural lands estimated at dozens of dunams in the “Wadi Abu Al-Hassan” area west of the town, adjacent to the colonial road leading to the “Beitar Illit” settlement and close to the “Sidi Boaz” colonial outpost.

In the Makhrour area in Beit Jala, the occupation forces demolished a restaurant built five years ago on an area of 3 dunams, owned by the Jerusalemite citizen Mahmoud Ali Musa Sari, under the pretext of not having a license, while bulldozing the land and uprooting dozens of old olive trees, estimated to be more than 100 years old.

Ramallah:

Settlers from the Ma'ale Levona colony attacked the homes of citizens in the town of Sinjil to the north, belonging to the citizens: Abdul Karim Khalil, Rajih Ghafri, and Abdul Moneim Farhan, before withdrawing from the place.

Nablus:

Settlers attacked citizens' vehicles south of Nablus, throwing stones at them on the road near the "Yitzhar" settlement. Others assaulted the elderly man, Jawad Ghazal (71 years old), while he was working on his land in the plain of the town of Sebastia, with sticks, which led to him suffering bruises, and he was transferred to the hospital as a result.

In the village of Furush Beit Dajan, the occupation bulldozers demolished an inhabited house, owned by the citizen Sami Ahmed Abu Hanish, with an area of 120 square meters. They also demolished an agricultural room owned by the citizen Ameed Hajj Muhammad, and two agricultural ponds owned by the citizens Jasser Abu Jish and Adli Mustafa Abu Jish. They also notified the demolition of seven houses in the village, noting that they were built decades ago inside the village.

The occupation authorities also delivered a demolition notice to a building on Mount Gerizim in Nablus, owned by the Al-Khammash family, consisting of five floors and located on the top of the mountain.

Salfit:

Settlers from the "Netafim" settlement cut down 30 olive trees, owned by citizen Ahmed Mustafa Asi in the town of Qarawet Bani Hassan in the "Khallet Hassan" area east of the town, and others stole 50 heads of sheep in the Mahfour area north of the town, owned by citizen Muhammad Abdul Aziz Mar'i.

In Deir Ballut, the occupation forces demolished a house that had been inhabited for 5 years and was owned by citizen Jawad Yaqoub Hadrous. The house’s area was approximately 150 square meters.

Settlers also cut down a number of olive trees west of Salfit, and vandalized agricultural land located in the "Al-Takweera" area between the towns of Burqin and Kafr Ad-Dik, owned by citizen Abdullah Ali Ahmed.

Northern Jordan Valley:

Settlers grazed their sheep among the homes of citizens in the Bedouin village of Ras al-Ain, north of the city of Jericho, in order to pressure the citizens to displace them and seize their homes and properties.

Settlers also continue to pave a colonial road west of the Ras Ein al-Auja settlement, with the aim of connecting the colonial outposts located in the area to each other. The road extends to connect the outposts surrounding the settlement with another colonial outpost built on the neighboring mountains, which threatens further colonial expansion at the expense of the citizens in the area.

In Ein al-Hilweh in the northern Jordan Valley, citizen Sati Alian Daraghmeh sustained bruises as a result of a number of settlers assaulting him and attempting to strangle him after they raided his tents, while others stormed tents belonging to citizen Yousef Abu Awad in the “Dhraa Awad” area near the Hamra military checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley.

Jericho:

The occupation forces demolished a house and a number of surrounding retaining walls in the Sama Jericho area east of the city, belonging to Jerusalemite Hala Abbasi from the town of Silwan.

Settlers graze their sheep among the homes of citizens in the village of Arab al-Malihat, northwest of the city of Jericho, and seize bales of straw and fodder.

In the village of Al-Duyouk Al-Tahta, the occupation authorities demolished four houses and several walls in the “Satih” area. These are inhabited houses owned by Ali Kaabneh and Saad Khawaja.

In Khirbet al-Farisiya, the occupation forces notified the citizen Shamekh Mustafa Daraghmeh to evacuate his residence under the pretext of military training in Khirbet al-Farisiya in the northern Jordan Valley, and gave him a week.

The resistance completed the handover of 3 Israeli detainees

This morning, the process of handing over 3 Israeli detainees as part of the fourth batch of the first phase of the exchange deal ended.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over an Israeli prisoner with American citizenship to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the port of Gaza City some time ago, Saturday, as part of the fourth batch of the exchange deal within the framework of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel began on January 19, with the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

Yesterday, Friday, the Qassam spokesman said in a statement: “The following Zionist prisoners will be released on Saturday, February 1: Ofer Calderon, Keith Shmonsel Segal, and Yarden Bibas.”

Qassam releases prisoner Keith Segal from Gaza City

The handover of Israeli prisoner Keith Shmonsel Segal, who also holds American citizenship, took place in Gaza City.

Earlier today, the Qassam Brigades released two Israeli prisoners who were being held in the Gaza Strip.

The process of handing over the prisoners, Ofer Calderon and Yarden Bibas, to the International Committee of the Red Cross took place near the Khan Yunis port in the southern Gaza Strip, using a special Israeli vehicle used by the settlement security units, which the resistance had captured in Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” in October 2023.

The handover took place in the presence of hundreds of Palestinians and a heavy deployment of Qassam Brigades members, as the Brigades raised pictures of their leaders who were martyred during the genocidal war that Israel committed in the Strip.

Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Jenin and its camp for the 12th consecutive day

The Israeli occupation army continues its aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp, for the 12th consecutive day, leaving 19 martyrs and dozens of injuries and arrests.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces arrested 4 citizens after storming the town of Qabatiya, and burned a vehicle before withdrawing. They also arrested a young man after assaulting him during their storming of the town of Araba, south of Jenin.

The occupation forces continued to blow up citizens' homes in Jenin camp, while continuing to storm it. Explosions were heard inside, resulting from the bombing of citizens' homes, especially in the neighborhoods of: Al-Damj, Abdullah Azzam, and Al-Bishr.

The occupation bulldozers caused massive destruction in the Al-Damj neighborhood and the eastern entrance to the camp, and continue to destroy the street of Jenin Governmental Hospital and its infrastructure. The occupation forces also obstruct the entry and exit of ambulances to and from the hospital.

Palestinian refugees where to?

op-ed - Al-Quds dot com

op-ed - Al-Quds dot com

Opinion Writer

The refugee issue is a central axis in the Palestinian cause, in light of the catastrophes imposed by Israel, which witnessed the largest campaigns of displacement, expulsion and ethnic cleansing since 1948, through 1967, and up to the current year, which also witnessed the racist Israeli campaigns that preceded it in 23 and 24, which are still ongoing, through which Israel, with the help of the United States, targets Palestinian refugees and displaced persons, in dangerous attempts to deepen their crises and catastrophes, in what can be described as the greatest political, social and humanitarian tragedy in history.

Israel, by force of occupation, has prevented the refugees from returning to their homes and houses, and the story of the refugees who were forcibly distributed to numerous camps in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, has remained the basic pillar of any fair and just solution to the Palestinian issue.

While Palestinian refugees lack the most basic human rights, suffer from the lack of adequate international protection and assistance, and pay the price of asylum in a double manner, whether abroad or at home, due to the racist occupation measures, Israel has been more determined than ever in the war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to eliminate the existence of the displaced and forced them to flee their homes that were destroyed by the language of war. They then left the tents in which they had settled temporarily for successive journeys of displacement and eviction.

Israel has designed a plan that carries disastrous effects and consequences on the lives and future of Palestinian refugees, after it began yesterday, falsely and slanderously, the decision to ban UNRWA from working in Palestine, which will deprive Palestinian refugees of their basic needs and services provided by UNRWA, as it is the largest international humanitarian organization that supports the Palestinians. Despite the United Nations’ confirmation of UNRWA’s neutrality, Israel insisted on withdrawing and ending the residency visas of the agency’s employees in Jerusalem, amid the agency’s determination to continue its work in the West Bank and Gaza, in order to provide relief and assistance to the afflicted and the bereaved, and to provide its life-saving services.

The chapters of the Nakba continue with the continuous threats from the American president, who is obsessed with the necessity of displacing the residents of the Gaza Strip to foreign countries. This is a dangerous targeting of the Palestinian people’s cause and their right to return and deepening the refugee issue, in addition to the ongoing aggression on the Jenin and Tulkarm camps, which Israel threatens to expand to include other camps. All the measures, attacks, and campaigns of burning, destroying, and blowing up homes and deporting citizens aim primarily to displace the Palestinians and eliminate all the components of their lives, as the camps live in difficult and catastrophic conditions, and the citizens suffer from the lack of basic services, such as water, electricity, communications, medicine, and a severe shortage of food, drinking water, and baby milk, in addition to targeting the infrastructure by the occupation bulldozers. The question is: To what extent will the Cairo meeting dedicated to the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Emirates, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the Arab League succeed? The meeting will discuss efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and to provide sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip, and to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). UNRWA and enabling it to carry out its international mandate to achieve decisive results, to compel Israel to lift the decision to ban the international agency, and to cancel Trump’s idea of displacing the Palestinians?

Equation: Beware... the wolf is wounded and licks his blood

One phone call, from a powerful spy accredited to the Shin Bet, saying that he was able to find out where five of the soldiers held by Hamas were being held, made Netanyahu immediately decide to send a military strike force to bomb the place and bring the prisoners back alive or dead.

Netanyahu will not pay attention to any commitment, signature, agreement or mediators - especially if they are Arabs - he will tell the world that Israel's interest and the lives of its soldiers are more important than anything else at all, and that he personally is the one popularly charged with this task, not Biden or Trump after him, as they are far away and do not understand the fine lines of the conflict. Not Sisi or Tamim, as they have their own countries and peoples that they care about. He will say that God prevents him from hesitating, procrastinating or postponing, especially since the scenario of their exchange will be in the second stage after six weeks, and who can guarantee, he asks, that it will happen? And who can guarantee that Hamas will not kill them? He will say what Yitzhak Shamir said before him when he went to the Madrid Conference, that his intention was to extend the negotiations for ten years, and now they have extended to forty. He will say what Yitzhak Rabin said, that deadlines are not sacred. He will say that Hamas violated the deal three times in ten days, when it did not hand over the lists to us in the first batch, when it did not commit to releasing the Arbil Jews in the second batch, and when it put the lives of the kidnapped soldiers in danger in the third batch, as it wanted to exploit that in the vicinity of Sinwar’s house.

Of course, all of these are just excuses, and Netanyahu is searching for them with a flashlight in broad daylight. He promised his partners in government that he would not reach the second stage, and would resume the war, eliminate Hamas and 20-30 thousand civilians with it, thus helping Trump in the displacement plan, and he will make the people pay the price for their support for Hamas when they returned to their destroyed homes, and as soon as he attacks them this time, they will be displaced for the last time to where hunger, thirst and despair lie. As for Hamas, after its recent announcement of the killing of its military leadership, headed by Daif, this is a golden opportunity to pounce and finish it off, instead of catching its breath, rebuilding itself and replacing its leaders with life-sentenced prisoners who are being freed from the shackles.

The most important point on the popular and personal level is the defeat that befell the army, politicians and society, to the point that Palestinian laughter and Palestinian ululations have become forbidden. It is his opportunity to turn defeat into victory within six weeks, thus transforming himself from a defeated war criminal into a victorious Israeli king.

It is not a discouraging message to the resistance led by Hamas, but rather a warning about the dangers of the wounded wolf, so that it may be aware, comprehend, beware and plan, for he who searches for an excuse will find it, and if he does not find it, he will invent it, claiming that a call has arrived reporting the location of kidnapped people.

Arthur Balfour's Promise and Donald Trump's Orders

Fawaz Ibrahim Nizar Attia

Fawaz Ibrahim Nizar Attia

Between the years 1917 and 2025, more than a century has passed, as if history is repeating itself, a saying that revolves around the words of God Almighty in verse 140 of Surat Al Imran: “If a wound should touch you, there has already touched the [former] people a wound similar to it. And these days We alternate among the people that God may make evident those who believe and take from among you martyrs. And God does not like the wrongdoers.”

Although international charters, covenants and resolutions, whether issued by the UN Security Council or the UN General Assembly, all affirmed the right of self-determination for the peoples of the world.

Since the Palestinian Arab people are one of the peoples of the world, who are still impatiently awaiting the implementation of dozens of international resolutions regarding their self-determination, the so-called Arthur Balfour, the British Foreign Minister at the time, had previously made a promise to establish a homeland for the Jews in Palestine in October 1917, so that his promise was issued by a person who does not own you to someone who does not deserve you.

The international conspiracies against the Palestinian cause continued in various forms, under the cover of darkness over the past years, until US President Donald Trump came out during his presidency of the United States of America between 2017-2021, with an idea that goes beyond the context of international law, as on 12-6-2017 he issued a promise in the form of written recognition that Israel has the right to determine its capital, in addition to announcing the transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

And then the days continue to pass and a few years pass, and despite the end of Trump’s term at the beginning of 2021, the aforementioned returns to the presidency of the United States at the beginning of 2025, and his chair is burdened with the blood of Palestinians for a year and three months before his inauguration as president for the second time, as a result of the absolute support from the Biden administration with equipment and weapons to the occupying state throughout the aforementioned period.

It is true that Trump instructed his envoy hours before his inauguration to oblige the Israeli occupation government to stop the war on the people of the Gaza Strip, so that the world’s television screens would be focused only on his inauguration ceremony, but time has passed and is passing with a truce whose outcome we do not know, in light of the attempt by the various Palestinian factions to portray the scene of victory from the exchange deal between the Palestinian prisoners and the Israeli prisoners and hostages, which is something that did not please the Israeli side, and in light of the breaking of the latter’s will with the scene of a great day of God’s days on 1/27/2025, and the entire world witnessed the return of the displaced Palestinians from the south of the Strip to its north.

This crowd, with the return of the people from the south of the Strip to its north, is something we have not witnessed since 1948, as the world has become accustomed to seeing the Palestinians in a state of asylum, displacement and exodus from their homes due to the successive wars against them, and the world has never witnessed a return movement of this form and number.

The right of return in the aforementioned manner from the south of the Gaza Strip to its north, confirmed for the first time since the history of the Arab-Palestinian-Israeli conflict, a new historical and legal reality that would not have been implemented for 8 decades, and that manner was one of God’s manners in His promise to His faithful and patient servants, on a blessed day connected to the anniversary of the Isra’ and Iraj, and with conclusive evidence and firm proof, that the Palestinian will not budge from his land that God has blessed with an unparalleled blessing.

So this new equation imposed by the people of Gaza put Trump and his team, along with the occupying state, to a real test, either by opposing the international legitimacy related to international law and international humanitarian law, and the extent of the enforcement of the United Nations Charter on the occupying state and its ally, the United States of America, or by correctly applying the provisions of international law, and issuing a declaration by Trump to correct his strategic mistake that he committed at the end of 2017, in what he called “Israel’s right to determine its capital” and considering all of Jerusalem as its capital, by issuing a parallel declaration to the 2017 declaration, the content of which is the right of the Palestinian people to have Jerusalem as their capital, as a legal basis for enforcing international law on that conflict and implementing international legitimacy resolutions.

I firmly believe that Trump will not issue his announcement, and will not care about the Palestinian reality. Rather, he increased the arrogance of the occupation by providing it with more deadly bombs on the first days of his inauguration as president for the second time. He went beyond the politeness and context of diplomatic dealings between countries, and between those he considers friends, to try to satisfy the arrogance of the occupation, which rejected the scene of return. Rather, all politicians of the occupying state considered it a bad omen for them, because this return constitutes the nucleus of the right of return to the villages and cities of historic Palestine, supported by international resolutions.

The return of the people of Gaza from the south of the Strip to its north also disturbed Trump, so he issued an order to two neighboring Arab countries to receive the people of Gaza, and asked other countries to receive a number of them. For example, he asked Albania to receive 100,000 Gazans, and asked other countries, whose request is not important and whose names are not important to mention, to receive a number of the people of Gaza, to erase the image of the return and uproot it forever under the name of rebuilding the Strip.

This painful reality, issued by the president of the most powerful country in the world, reflects disdain for the rights of others, and even hatred and arrogance that go beyond the foundations of humanity. Therefore, we find that Trump, with his policy of ignorance of the nature of the rights of the Palestinian people, and his blind and absolute support for the policy of the occupying state to continue further in falsehood in violating international laws, with a methodology stemming from premeditation, and this matter will inevitably increase the cohesion of the peoples of the region in confronting the plans of Trump and the occupying state, and will lead to the cohesion and solidarity of its peoples with their leaders, especially in light of what the Egyptian president announced in a press conference two days ago that Egypt's national security will not allow the idea to be accepted or thought about, and this is what King Abdullah II stressed, and Trump's statement that the United States' assistance to the two countries will make them subject to the pressure of his order, is a departure from diplomatic etiquette and a departure from the politeness associated with the ethics of dealing between presidents, as American assistance to the two countries is not a favor or kindness, nor does it stem from good morals, righteousness or charity.

Rather, the international agreements concluded between the two aforementioned countries and the Israeli occupation state were combined with an American pledge to provide material and military assistance, to ensure the continuation of the treaties between their parties.

Therefore, linking the Balfour Declaration to Trump’s orders issued a few hours ago, obligating both Egypt and Jordan to receive the people of Gaza or a large number of them, constitutes a promise and an order from someone who has no right to issue them, to a people whose fate neither Trump nor anyone else has the right to influence, because in colloquial language it is said: The Palestinian people have no authority over anyone except their freedom and emancipation from occupation.

Therefore, the ominous promise and the dwarfed order, although their edge is like a damaged sword, are a lie that will not last, and Trump's order has become the title of the next stage - God forbid - with more bloodshed between the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, and will lead us into a cycle of violence, distress, massacres and endless hatred, although the components of the solution are simple. The decent living between the two peoples under the umbrella of the Ottoman state, over the previous 400 years of Ottoman rule over Palestine and the rest of the Arab countries, was enough to remind us that coexistence existed between us, and still exists, provided that we do not deny each other's rights. Is there anyone who will answer?

.........

The return of the people of Gaza from the south of the Strip to its north disturbed Trump, so he issued an order to two neighboring Arab countries to receive the people of Gaza, and asked other countries to receive a number of them. For example, he asked Albania to receive 100,000 Gazans.

Israel continues its aggression on Tulkarm and its camp

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the sixth consecutive day, causing great destruction to citizens’ properties, homes, and infrastructure, which led to the forced displacement of dozens of families.

In the city of Tulkarm, foot patrols of the occupation army roamed the streets of the city, especially in the western, southern and eastern neighborhoods, raided citizens’ homes, searched them and checked their identities. They also turned several residential and commercial buildings into military barracks and deployed snipers on their roofs.

Among these buildings are: Al-Adawiya Commercial Complex near the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, Al-Daw and Diab buildings in the city center, Al-Zahraa Building and the Agricultural Relief Building in the western neighborhood, and Al-Babaa Building in the vegetable market.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces stationed in the commercial buildings launched intensive filming drones throughout the night in the vegetable market area, while infantry soldiers stormed the western cemetery and carried out combing operations inside and around it.

A WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces are carrying out search and combing operations in the city's neighborhoods, setting up ambushes between trees, houses and in the alleys, chasing citizens and vehicles and forcing them to return to their homes, while raiding shops in the eastern neighborhood after smashing their locks with heavy tools.

The occupation forces continue to besiege the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and the Israa Specialized Hospital, obstructing the work of ambulances and medical crews, subjecting them to searches, interrogating paramedics and detaining them.

In Tulkarm camp, the occupation forces continue to impose a tight siege on the camp, deploying their foot patrols in all its neighborhoods, and their snipers are on the tall buildings inside and around it.

Eyewitnesses told WAFA that the occupation forces continue to force citizens in the camp to leave their homes in the Al-Nadi, Al-Shuhada, Al-Ghanem, Al-Matar and Abu Al-Foul neighborhoods.

They added that these operations included destroying the contents of homes, blowing up a number of them, demolishing them and burning them, as a means of intimidating and pressuring citizens, under the pretext of searching for wanted persons.

This escalation, which has been ongoing for six days, comes amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions that have been exacerbated by the destruction of basic facilities and infrastructure in the camp by the occupation bulldozers, and the accompanying power, water, communications and internet outages, as well as a shortage of food, medical supplies, drinking water and baby milk.

In addition, the efforts and initiatives of the Dignity and Relief Committee formed by Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil continue to stand by the people of Tulkarm camp and support the families who were forced by the occupation to leave their homes.

Associations, centers and mosques in the city and its suburbs received dozens of displaced people from the camp and those who were stranded and unable to reach their countries and villages.

Mutated Trumpism!

“They will,” he repeated three times, as if he were a god, in response to journalists’ questions about whether Cairo and Amman would respond to his call to receive the Palestinians from Gaza, who had not left their land, despite the thousands of missiles that rained down on their heads, and the vile brute fantasizes about the ease with which he could transport them in chains, as he did with the Colombian immigrants.

"They are the Palestinians, you idiot." They do not submit to gold or the sword. They are not deceived by promises or intimidated by threats. They believe in the inevitability of their victory, the establishment of their state, and the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the most powerful weapons developed and tested by the "state of human values" on the brick and tin houses in Jabalia, Shaboura, and Beit Lahia, and under whose rubble tens of thousands perished, most of them children and women.

The one who has returned to the White House is at odds with the universe as he turns his face to the heavens, turning against systems and laws, threatening countries and peoples with annexation, displacement and deportation, and threatening to return to the Star Wars.

It seems that the Corona vaccine did not succeed in sterilizing the first version of Trumpism, which provoked humanity, and the second version of it came as a naked mutant, practicing its provocative displays of freedom, governance, transparency, and democratic systems.

This is how Trump is reducing the superpower to a bullying and real estate construction company, and replacing the Statue of Liberty with Trump Tower.

What Trump failed to achieve during his first term, he will not be able to achieve in his second and final term.

Trump will go, and with him Trumpism, like all racist movements, just as before him civilizations that prevailed and then quickly perished, and empires on which the sun never set, then disappeared.

First attack on Israeli occupation forces since the start of their incursion into Syria

The Israeli army announced that gunmen opened fire on its forces in the Quneitra countryside on the liberated side of the occupied Golan Heights, for the first time since the start of its incursion into Syria and its occupation of the buffer zone following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

The occupation army said in a statement that the attack took place on Friday evening, without causing any injury to any of its soldiers, adding that it responded to the source of the gunfire.

He added that his forces in the region will work to remove what he described as threats facing Israel and its citizens.

In turn, the Israeli Army Radio described the incident as unusual, noting that it was the first time that Israeli forces had been targeted by fire since the start of their incursion into the buffer zone in the Golan Heights and adjacent areas in southern Syria.

For his part, media sources reported that the shooting took place in the town of Taranja in the northern Quneitra countryside during an Israeli force’s incursion into the town.

The sources said that Israeli helicopters intervened to secure the withdrawal of the invading forces, and the attacking forces used flares.

He added that the Israeli forces arrested two people during their incursion into Taranja.

Since the fall of Assad on December 8, the Israeli army has carried out incursions into a number of cities and towns in the Quneitra and Daraa governorates on the border strip with the occupied Golan Heights before withdrawing from most of them.

WHO calls for urgent medical evacuation from Gaza Strip

The World Health Organization called on Friday to resume urgent medical evacuation from the Gaza Strip, as up to 15,000 people need treatment outside the Strip.

The organization's representative in the Palestinian territories, Rick Peeperkorn, explained that the health needs in the Gaza Strip are enormous, and that only 18 hospitals out of 36 are partially operating, and 11 field hospitals, while the ceasefire allowed sufficient health supplies to reach about 1.6 million people.

He pointed to the burden of mental health in Gaza, while there are only two psychiatrists in the northern part of the Strip, in addition to the small number of mental health specialists, and the only mental health hospital has stopped operating since 2024.

Peppercorn added that the organization plans to expand Al-Shifa Hospital by 200 beds, while it is assessing the renovation of the Indonesian Hospital and installing a prefabricated health facility in Gaza City.

He explained that the organization deployed surgical teams to support capabilities in Al-Ahli Al-Arabi Hospital, and enhanced disease surveillance, response, and the operation of the early warning system, while hospitals in Rafah need renovation.

Trump and Forced Displacement: The New Blueprint for Hegemony

Written by: Tharwat Zaid Al-Kilani

Written by: Tharwat Zaid Al-Kilani

Opinion Writer

American policy has always played a pivotal role in shaping power equations in the Middle East. This role has not been limited to unconditional support for Israel, but has extended to include adopting a discourse that legitimizes coercive solutions that serve American and Israeli strategic interests. In this context, Donald Trump’s statement that “Egypt and Jordan will do whatever I want” when talking about displacing Palestinians from Gaza was a dangerous indication of a hegemonic approach that goes beyond merely supporting Israel to extend to imposing specific perceptions on the countries of the region. However, this discourse is not just a passing media outburst, but rather reflects deeper transformations related to major economic projects and the redrawing of the region’s political geography, including vital areas such as energy and infrastructure that Israel seeks to dominate, which increases the complexity of the regional scene and reflects the intertwined conflicts of interests.

First: The geopolitical dimension: Gaza between isolation and demographic emptying

1. The proposed channel and the final isolation of Gaza

A- According to the plan of Israeli General Giora Eiland, Israel seeks to establish the Ben Gurion Canal, a two-lane waterway that aims to form a strategic alternative to the Suez Canal. This canal is not just an economic project, but is considered an effective tool to isolate Gaza from the rest of the Palestinian and Egyptian territories, turning it into a water- and land-locked enclave. This isolation makes it difficult, if not impossible, to connect Gaza to the West Bank in the future, and reinforces the disintegration of the geographical and political fabric of the Palestinians, which exacerbates the challenges they face in their quest for independence and sovereignty.

B- This new geographical reality imposes two harsh choices on the people of Gaza: either accept the new occupation and live under its pressure, or face stifling living pressures that push them towards forced migration. This situation does not leave them room to think about other options, but rather reflects a state of despair and frustration, as the harsh conditions reinforce their desire to escape their bitter reality. Consequently, displacement becomes an imposed choice, which increases the complexity of the humanitarian dimensions of the crisis and deepens their suffering in the absence of effective political solutions.

2. The impact of the canal on the Egyptian and Jordanian role

Despite the economic gains that may appear to be for Egypt and Jordan from the Ben Gurion Canal project, the risks involved far outweigh the potential benefits. Opening a new trade route threatens the Suez Canal, which reflects a direct threat to one of Egypt’s most important sources of national income, and weakens its strategic position in global trade. In addition, the infrastructure transformations resulting from this project may impose a new reality on Jordan, where it becomes a mere transit station for new trade routes, without having a sovereign role or effective influence in shaping trade policies, as it reflects the erosion of the regional influence of both countries, and increases the complexity of political and economic relations in the region, which raises questions about the future of regional cooperation and the ability of countries to protect their interests in light of geopolitical changes.

Second: The economic dimension: Gas and trade as tools of political pressure

1. Controlling gas as a primary driver

A- The Eastern Mediterranean region has huge reserves of natural gas, estimated at about 3 trillion cubic meters, some of which are located in the waters adjacent to Gaza. Israeli control over these resources means that it has a strategic pressure card on European countries seeking to reduce their dependence on Russian gas.

B- The escalation of tensions over the gas fields is not new, but the change in the dynamics of the conflict—with the destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure and the possibility of redrawing its maritime borders—gives Israel a golden opportunity to redraw the gas exploitation lines away from any Palestinian demands.

2.Israeli Silk Road Project

A- In parallel with the Ben Gurion Canal, Israel seeks to develop land trade routes as an alternative to traditional routes. This project is in line with Israel’s vision of becoming a global trade hub linking Asia to Europe, bypassing Egyptian and Turkish influence in the region.

B- This project cannot be separated from the war on Gaza, as dismantling Hamas’s authority and emptying the Strip of its residents or subjecting it to indirect Israeli control opens the way for turning the Palestinian territories into mere transit points for goods, and not a viable political entity.

Third: The security dimension: from the threat to Israel to the threat to Egypt

1. The emergence of Hamas as a persistent force despite the war and its massive destruction, scenes of prisoner exchanges and the appearance of Hamas fighters driving modern cars and using advanced weapons have raised deep concerns in both Israel and Egypt. These phenomena reflect Hamas’s ability to adapt and persist, raising questions about the effectiveness of the military and political strategies adopted by the parties involved.

2. For Israel, the continued existence of Hamas’s armed wing, even if decentralized, means that the Israeli project has not fully achieved its goals. This reality indicates the failure of attempts to weaken Hamas and silence its voice, reflecting an ongoing challenge to Israeli security. As for Egypt, the presence of an independent armed force on its borders could constitute a factor of strategic instability, especially in light of the lack of full control over Sinai, which further complicates the security landscape and increases fears of potential repercussions on Egypt’s internal security.

Fourth: The social and psychological dimension: Distortions resulting from war, and the return of civilians to an uninhabitable land:

1. The tragic scenes of residents of northern Gaza returning on foot or in primitive animal-drawn carts reflect the massive destruction of infrastructure. These painful images embody a human tragedy that reflects the loss of hope and the absence of basic necessities of life, making the return to the homeland an unbearable and bitter experience.

2. This destruction is not limited to demolished buildings, but extends to distort the social fabric that existed. The loss of basic necessities of life prompts residents to hold Hamas responsible for the catastrophic reality, although this blame may be far from the truth, especially in light of the lack of a clear alternative beyond accepting the occupation. This feeling of disappointment reinforces the internal division and increases the complexity of the political scene.

3. In this situation, an environment is created for Israel to promote the narrative of “liberating Gaza from Hamas,” seeking to gain international support for its future projects in the region. This narrative exploits the suffering of civilians to justify military policies, raising questions about political ethics and the ability of the international community to confront these humanitarian challenges.

Future results and implications

1. Reshaping the Middle East according to an Israeli vision

A- The proposed projects are not just future plans, but actual movements that have begun to crystallize on the ground, whether through infrastructure projects or economic agreements that enhance Israeli influence in the region.

B- Achieving this vision requires either emptying Gaza of its population or subjecting it to indirect Israeli control, which explains the political and economic pressures exerted on Egypt and Jordan to accept these arrangements.

T- Neutralizing the Egyptian and Jordanian roles in managing the Palestinian issue files may lead to internal unrest in both countries, as the governments will face popular opposition to any steps that may be understood as acceptance of Israeli plans.

2. The impact of American policies on the future of the conflict

A- The United States adopts a discourse that gives Israel a wide margin of action that enhances the possibility of implementing these plans, whether through military support or through imposing economic agendas that make the countries of the region mere tools to achieve the American and Israeli strategy.

B- This approach increases the possibility of escalating the conflict in the long term, as imposing coercive solutions will not lead to stability, but will create new rounds of violence and resistance, as previous experiences have proven.

3. Possible scenarios: between resistance and forced adaptation

A- If pressure on Gaza continues without achieving a large-scale displacement, the resistance may develop into new forms, whether through regional alliances or through long-term strategies of war of attrition.

B- However, if the pressures succeed in imposing a new reality, we may witness radical transformations in the nature of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, where the economic and security dimensions become the primary driver instead of traditional national demands.

T- In all cases, the region is heading towards a major restructuring phase, the repercussions of which will not stop at the borders of Palestine, but will extend to include the balance of power in the entire Middle East.

Trump’s speech appears to be more than just random statements, but rather a reflection of a broader strategy aimed at redrawing the political and economic geography of the region according to an Israeli vision. With the proliferation of mega-projects such as the Ben-Gurion Canal and new trade corridors, the Palestinian issue is entering a new phase that goes beyond direct military confrontation to a struggle over infrastructure and resources. However, attempts to impose this vision by force will not necessarily lead to lasting stability, but may push the region into further chaos and confrontation, making the future of the Middle East more uncertain than ever.

In light of these major challenges, the Palestinian leadership is required to take strategic steps that strengthen Palestinian steadfastness and thwart plans aimed at emptying Gaza and reshaping the political geography in Israel’s favor. Among the required steps are:

1. Building a unified national vision

A- Overcoming internal divisions between Palestinian factions, and working to form a unified political front capable of facing challenges.

B- Restructuring Palestinian institutions to be more representative and effective in decision-making.

T- Strengthening unity between the West Bank and Gaza to prevent Israel from imposing a separate geographic and political reality for each.

2. Activating international diplomacy more effectively

A- Employing international changes, especially the change in the positions of some countries towards Israel, to mobilize greater support for the Palestinian cause in international forums.

B- Pressuring Arab and Islamic countries to take stricter positions towards projects that threaten the Palestinian existence, especially with regard to forced displacement.

T- Communicating with influential international powers, such as the European Union, China, and Russia, to ensure that the United States does not monopolize shaping the future of Palestine and the region.

3. Strengthening economic and social resilience

A- Investing in projects that enhance self-reliance, especially in the agricultural, industrial and energy sectors, to reduce economic dependence on Israel.

B- Encouraging youth and economic initiatives within Palestine, to provide job opportunities and reduce migration resulting from the deterioration of living conditions.

T- Developing support programmes for Palestinian families in Gaza and the West Bank, especially in light of attempts to empty the Strip of its population.

4. Investing in political and popular resistance

A- Supporting peaceful popular resistance movements such as the economic boycott of Israel (BDS), and strengthening international campaigns that expose Israeli violations.

B- Maintaining the momentum of resistance in all its forms, while developing new strategies that make the continuation of the occupation politically and economically costly for Israel.

T- Strengthening the Palestinian presence in areas targeted by settlement and displacement, such as Area C in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

5. Redefining the relationship with Arab countries

A- Not to be satisfied with reactions to Israeli moves, but to work on formulating Arab initiatives that enhance the Palestinian presence in the regional equation.

B- Pressuring countries that have normalized relations with Israel to prevent normalization agreements from becoming a tool for imposing Israeli agendas at the expense of Palestinian rights.

T- Strengthening the Palestinian role in regional cooperation projects, such as energy projects and trade linkage, to ensure that Palestine is not excluded from these equations.

6. Confronting Israeli plans through the media and politics

A- Establishing research and media centers specialized in exposing Israeli plans, especially with regard to projects such as the Ben Gurion Canal and plans to displace Palestinians.

B- Using international media and social media platforms to expose Israeli violations and gain the sympathy of global public opinion.

T- Developing a unified Palestinian media strategy that confronts the Israeli narrative that markets itself as the party harmed by the conflict.

In conclusion, the Palestinian leadership today faces a historic challenge that requires a unified vision, well-thought-out diplomatic and economic moves, and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of forced displacement and normalization projects. The battle is no longer just military, but has become a battle for political and economic survival, requiring new strategies that restore the initiative to the Palestinians, instead of being merely a party that receives shocks.

Trump insists that Egypt and Jordan will receive displaced Palestinians from Gaza

President Trump insisted Thursday that Jordan and Egypt will accept Palestinian refugees displaced from Gaza despite strong objections from the two Arab countries.

Trump's recent proposal to "cleanse" Gaza of its Palestinian population and send them to Jordan and Egypt raised fears that the United States might support the ethnic cleansing of the Strip, but his idea was quickly rejected by Amman, Cairo and the wider Arab world.

Asked Thursday about the Egyptian and Jordanian response to his proposal, Trump said, “They will do it. They will do it. They will do it, OK?! We do a lot for them, and they will do it.”

Trump's calls to remove Palestinians from Gaza have been welcomed by the most hardline elements in the Israeli government who openly support ethnic cleansing and the establishment of Jewish settlements, including Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who said he was working to make Trump's vision a reality.

Smotrich and others see their desire for ethnic cleansing as “voluntary migration,” but the Israeli military campaign has left most of Gaza uninhabitable.

Some media reports said the Trump administration has discussed with experts and officials the idea of moving Gazans “temporarily” during reconstruction, but many are likely to be reluctant to leave for fear that Israel will not allow them to return.

Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, said Thursday that “almost nothing” was left of Gaza, comments he made after visiting the Israeli-controlled Netzarim corridor and surveying the devastation from a helicopter. “People are moving north to go home and see what happened and come back and leave… There’s no water, no electricity. It’s just amazing how much damage there is,” Witkoff told Axios.

Witkoff, a New York real estate investor, said he believed it would take 10 to 15 years to rebuild Gaza. “There was a perception that we could have a solid plan for Gaza in five years. But that’s impossible,” he said. “It’s a 10- to 15-year rebuilding plan.” Witkoff added that it would take five years to demolish and remove the rubble alone. “There’s nothing left standing,” he said. “There’s a lot of unexploded ordnance. It’s not safe to walk there. It’s very dangerous. I wouldn’t know that without going there and looking.”

Prisoners' institutions: 90 detainees will be released tomorrow as part of the prisoner exchange deal

The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced that 90 detainees in Israeli occupation prisons are scheduled to be released tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the fourth batch of the ceasefire agreement.

The Commission and the Prisoners Club explained in a brief statement, today, Friday, that 81 detainees with high sentences will be released, and 9 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment.

In turn, the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate decided to move the reception site for the freed prisoners from the Ramallah Recreational Complex to the open square in front of the Ramallah Cultural Palace and the Mahmoud Darwish Mausoleum.

She pointed out that this decision came in light of the large crowds and preparations coming from all governorates to receive the released prisoners, and the proximity of the new site to the city of Beitunia, which allows the buses of the released prisoners to arrive more easily and quickly, without any obstacles.

She pointed out that any editors who need medical care will be transferred directly to hospitals, while medical crews, ambulances, and emergency teams will be on standby to deal with any emergency cases.

It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities released the third batch of detainees yesterday evening, as part of the ceasefire agreement. The batch included 110 detainees, 32 prisoners serving life sentences, 48 prisoners with various sentences, and 30 children.

Israeli occupation continues to force citizens to evacuate their homes in Tulkarm camp

Today, Friday, the Israeli occupation forces continue to force citizens to evacuate their homes in Tulkarm camp, in light of the unprecedented escalation of aggression witnessed by the city and its camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces forced families to leave their homes at gunpoint, specifically in the Al-Nadi and Al-Shuhada neighborhoods, which caused a state of panic and fear, especially among children and women.

Eyewitnesses added that these operations were accompanied by the destruction of the contents of homes and the bombing of a number of them, as the occupation uses eviction as a means to terrorize and pressure citizens, under the pretext of searching for wanted persons.

This escalation, which has been ongoing for five days, comes amidst difficult humanitarian conditions in the camp, where residents are suffering from the interruption of basic services such as water, electricity and communications due to the targeting of the infrastructure by the occupation bulldozers, and a severe shortage of food, medical supplies, drinking water and baby milk.

The Palestinian Red Crescent crews in Tulkarm continue to evacuate citizens from the club area in the camp, after they received evacuation orders from the occupation.

The association said that the ambulance crews have so far evacuated a number of patients, while the association's disaster management team has evacuated 150 citizens.

In turn, Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil said that the Red Crescent Society crews, in order to relieve the citizens, began distributing food parcels, bread, and basic needs of water and medicine inside Tulkarm camp, which has been subjected to the occupation’s aggression for the fifth consecutive day.

Governor Kamil added in a press statement: "There is a comprehensive and major aggression against Tulkarm Governorate, which includes systematic destruction of infrastructure in a number of locations throughout the city, re-destruction of what was previously rehabilitated in Tulkarm camp, and forcing hundreds of families from the camp to be forcibly displaced from their homes."

He explained that the Dignity and Relief Committee, in cooperation with all the governorate’s institutions, activities and volunteers, is working to support the families who were displaced from the camp as a result of this aggression, in addition to the tremendous efforts of the Health Emergency Committee and all the teams working in the field.

Kamil renewed his call to the international community and human rights institutions to stop this aggression, directing an invitation to our people in the remaining governorates and the lands of 1948 to stand by Tulkarm Governorate in view of the difficult situation and the necessity of helping to secure the needs of the families and households affected by this invasion.

Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Tulkarm for the fifth consecutive day

The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city and camp of Tulkarm for the fifth consecutive day, amidst widespread destruction of public and private property and infrastructure, and the bombing of homes.

On Friday morning, the occupation forces arrested five young men after besieging two houses in the city, amid heavy gunfire and intensive low-altitude reconnaissance flights.

Local sources reported that an occupation army force surrounded a house in the Engineers Housing between the Shuwaika and Iktaba suburbs east of the city, and demanded via loudspeakers that those inside the house surrender, while a special occupation army force supported by military vehicles surrounded another house in the southern neighborhood of the city.

She added that the occupation forces fired bullets and sound bombs intensively towards the two houses, amidst the outbreak of clashes in the area, without any injuries being reported.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces arrested the two young men, Ammar and Ahmed Al-Aoufi, from the house they surrounded in the east of the city. They also arrested the young men, Ayman Marai, Majd Hadaydeh, and Moamen Abu Tamam, from the house they surrounded in the southern neighborhood.

At the same time, the occupation forces deployed large-scale infantry patrols in various neighborhoods of Tulkarm city, specifically the western neighborhood and Jamal Abdel Nasser Square in the center of the city, while continuing to seize commercial buildings there and turn them into military barracks and sniper locations.

The occupation forces continue their siege of the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and the Israa Specialized Hospital, and their seizure of the tall commercial buildings surrounding them, while obstructing the work of ambulances and medical crews and subjecting them to inspection and field investigation.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces are blowing up a number of houses inside the neighborhoods of the besieged Tulkarm camp for the fifth consecutive day, after forcing their residents to evacuate them at gunpoint. Every now and then, the sounds of explosions are heard in the camp as a result of the bombings and the burning of tarpaulins in its neighborhoods.
