Saudi delegation in Palestine, first in three decades

An official Saudi delegation, headed by the non-resident ambassador to the Palestinian territories, Nayef Al-Sudairi, arrived in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, a Palestinian official confirmed to Agence France-Presse.

The acting governor of Jericho, Yusra Sweiti, explained to Agence France-Presse that "the Saudi delegation arrived in the Palestinian territories."

The visit of the delegation, which arrived via the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge, which is controlled by Israel, is the first since the signing of the historic Oslo Accords.

It comes in conjunction with American efforts to normalize relations between Riyadh and the Hebrew state.
