Al-Bakri: More than one million shekels of donations from Palestine for the afflicted in Morocco and Libya.
The Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Hatem Al-Bakri, said that the proceeds of donations collected by the “Palestine with You” campaign to relief those affected by the hurricane in Libya and the earthquake in Morocco have amounted to more than one million shekels, since its launch last Sunday.
Sheikh Al-Bakri said that the committee formed to follow up on the “Palestine with You” campaign in the Ministry of Endowments will hold a meeting tomorrow, Sunday, to take a decision to extend it for another week, or stop it.
Regarding how to deliver aid, he explained that there is coordination with the ambassadors of the State of Palestine to Morocco and Libya to deliver aid, noting that the Moroccan government has allocated bank accounts to assist and provide relief to the afflicted.
Al-Bakri stressed that the Ministry of Endowments launched this campaign, under the guidance of President Mahmoud Abbas, to stand by our brothers in Libya and Morocco in facing the difficult conditions resulting from natural disasters.
Last Sunday, the Minister of Endowments announced the launch of a relief campaign for those affected by the hurricane in Libya and the earthquake in Morocco, by collecting donations in mosques after Friday prayers, or by donating to the account numbers of the Palestinian Zakat Fund.
