The Palestinian people need international protection, not fiery rhetoric
The blood of the martyrs has not yet dried up in Jenin and its camp, and in the town of Turmusaya, which was invaded by settlers a few days ago under the protection of the occupation forces, so that the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, the minister of the so-called "national security" in the Netanyahu government, stormed Jabal Sabih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus yesterday, and announced it to hundreds of settlers who "I give you my full and utter support, but I want much more than the settlement here, and there should be a complete settlement here, and not only here, but in all the hills around us."
This extremist did not take that provocative step in vain, but it came after Netanyahu agreed to legalize the "Avitar outpost" built on the aforementioned mountain following his submission to the demands of the pillars of his extremist government, led by Ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich and a group of hateful religious people who consider the West Bank more important than Tel Aviv. From a religious point of view.
This infamous incursion was accompanied by a series of attacks launched by settlers yesterday against our people in various governorates, and also with the protection of the army forces that participated with them by firing bullets and poisonous gas at the defenseless citizens who are defending their assets by the only means they have, which is the "stone" that is fortified by the overwhelming popular will of rejection. For the continuation of the occupation in all its forms and coexistence with it and with hundreds of thousands of settlers who are crowded with the West Bank, to become an incubator for two Palestinian states, the first is a Palestinian state that is fragmented, lacks sovereignty and besieged, and the second is strong and impregnable and supported by money and weapons. The aim of all this is to push us to emigrate or remain in the cycle of violence and killing, because Israel refuses to coexist with the Palestinian people, and even rejects their existence in the first place, and says to the international community, with practical steps on the ground, "No to the two-state solution."
The Palestinian people, who do not possess nuclear weapons or combat tanks and planes, will not raise a white flag and will not surrender in front of the Israeli machine of killing and oppression. Acceptance of the fait accompli, which also confirms that the old Israeli saying that the Palestinian people is “the dust of the earth” is a miserable saying and was dispelled by Palestinian valor on the ground. The Jenin camp is only the most prominent address and a living example of what we say.
In front of this difficult reality, for which the Palestinian people pay daily with pure blood from the young bodies of their children, there must be a clear and frank international stance towards what Israel, which is ruled by settler gangs, is doing in terms of daily aggression, whether by the army, which has returned to the policy of assassinations with its drones, which have stopped After the end of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, or by settler gangs that have unleashed their free will and are now practicing their orgies in public to show a buried hatred against our people, who will definitely not stand idly by and will defend themselves with all their will to steadfastness and survival on the land of their usurped homeland.
What is required of the United States of America and the international community in general is to provide international protection for our people immediately and without hesitation, as well as clear and explicit positions that stop the shedding of blood and put an end to the creeping settlement that devours the land and prevents the establishment of an independent and sovereign state. It cannot be deterred unless the world says its word, "Enough with the occupation, and the Palestinian people have the right to live free and independent, like the rest of the peoples of the world, in a fully sovereign state that will be established on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital." Hence, we affirm that speeches and slogans do not benefit the Palestinian people insofar as they need to take concrete practical steps on the ground that provide them with protection and lift the heavy hand of the occupation and its settlers from them.
