New laws targeting Palestinians in front of the Israeli Knesset

Today, Sunday, Israeli Knesset member Sharn Haskel is expected to present a number of bills that aim to challenge the government coalition, for discussion in the Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs, which will meet this afternoon.

According to the Hebrew Maariv newspaper, Haskel will present two proposals, one of which stipulates that anyone who has served 75% of his military service as a soldier will be able to carry a weapon for self-defense in light of the recent Palestinian attacks, and the other is to add the families of Israelis killed in operations as a party to the “legal” procedures. taken against the perpetrators of those operations.

According to the newspaper, Haskel will try to reduce the standards currently in place for carrying weapons for self-defense, noting that the MK pointed out the success of many former soldiers in neutralizing many Palestinians and thwarting attacks, which enables them to quickly thwart potential attacks.

Haskel aims from the second law to allow the families of the dead Israelis to be a party in the court against the perpetrators of the attacks, and to express their demands during the hearings before the verdict is pronounced.

Today, the Israeli Knesset will return to its full activities, with the opening of the first plenary session of the summer session tomorrow.
