Nominations for the Yasser Arafat Achievement Award for the year 2022 are open


Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The Yasser Arafat Foundation has announced the opening of nominations for the "Yasser Arafat Achievement Award" for the year 2022, which is granted by the Foundation annually to an individual, institution or work team, in recognition of his achievements in the fields of national, cultural, social or economic or academic.


A special committee (the Prize Committee) studies the nominations submitted to the Foundation and selects the winner, which includes the award’s patent, a symbolic figurine, and an amount of $25,000. The Foundation said in a statement today, Thursday, that “the outstanding achievement has several aspects and components that contribute to the general excellence of the work it has accomplished.” Therefore, the candidate is expected to enjoy originality and creativity, to have established a leadership approach in the specified field, to have a great effort in completing the work and an indication of perseverance and commitment, and to have had a positive and sustainable impact on a large scale that benefits society, and that It also enjoys popular appreciation, especially among groups that have been directly affected by it.


She added, "It is the responsibility of the candidate to provide all documents and information that support the candidate, noting that the award committee will evaluate only what it receives and does not take it upon itself to fulfill the deficiencies. Shortlisted, and the winner is chosen from among them after an additional evaluation. Nomination conditions:


1. It is required that the candidate be either a living Palestinian individual, an existing institution or a work team, who has provided great services to the homeland through his work in any of the five areas specified above, and a non-Palestinian can be nominated if he has provided great services to Palestine.


2. No person may nominate himself for the award.


3. Attach a complete CV of the individual candidate with a copy of the personal ID or passport. For institutions, an identification of their mission, articles of association, headquarters, registration number, and those in charge of them. In the case of the assigned work team, details of goals, achievements, and assignment.


4. That the nomination be by an institution or corporate body approved by the board that represents it.


5. The individual nominee must have demonstrated competence and experience in the field of the nominee's work.


6. Attach the nomination file with a letter from the candidate presenting the reasons that prompted him to submit the nomination, indicating the scope and justifications for the nomination, as well as a letter from the candidate confirming the acceptance of the nomination and the desire to compete for the award.


7. The establishment of evidence rests with the candidate.


8. Organizations and institutions should not submit nominations for parts of them.


9. Issuance of the work nomination by two independent bodies (individuals, institutions or corporate bodies) stating that they have reviewed and supported the file.


10. The nominated body may be Palestinian or Arab, and the nomination submitted by the following bodies is accepted only: A - Institutions and corporate bodies through their councils that represent them. B - Individuals with expertise and recognized professional reputation.


11. Nominations outside the five fields specified for the award will not be considered.


12. No nominations submitted without documented attachments will not be considered. It is advisable to print written materials.


13. The deadline for receiving nomination files is July 31, 2022. She explained that our Palestinian people are full of individuals, institutions, and work teams that have accomplished a lot, which deserves appreciation, and a prize committee urges all concerned to compete for this award, noting that it will be awarded to one winner only, and that it is possible to re-nominate who had been shortlisted but not won in a given year.
