Despite claims of reducing bombardment, Israel kills 6 Palestinians in attacks on Gaza.

Six Palestinians were killed and others were injured since dawn on Sunday in ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been facing a genocide for nearly two years, amid claims from Tel Aviv of reducing its military operations.

Medical sources and eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army targeted residential buildings and tents of displaced persons in various areas of the strip.

The Israeli attacks come as U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday that he believes Hamas is now "ready for lasting peace," calling on Tel Aviv to stop bombing Gaza "immediately" to facilitate the release of Israeli prisoners.

Trump's remarks were in response to a statement from Hamas, in which it announced its agreement to release all Israeli prisoners according to his proposal and to hand over the administration of the strip to a Palestinian body of independents.

In detail, four Palestinians waiting for aid were killed near the U.S.-Israeli distribution hub in the Al-Shakush area northwest of Rafah city in southern Gaza.

Beyond the supervision of the United Nations and international relief organizations, Tel Aviv has initiated since May 27 a mechanism for distributing aid through what is known as the "Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation," which Palestinians refer to as "death traps."

The Israeli army targeted those waiting for aid at distribution points rejected by the United Nations, resulting in thousands of casualties among the dead and injured.

Several Palestinians were injured after an Israeli march dropped bombs on the tents of displaced persons east of the Asda area north of Khan Younis city in the southern strip.

Israeli artillery also shelled areas in central Khan Younis, while fighter jets launched two airstrikes on its northern outskirts.

In the northern strip, a Palestinian was killed in the ongoing Israeli attacks on various parts of Gaza city, with no further details available.

Additionally, several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted the upper floors of several residential buildings on Al-Thalathini Street in the Al-Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza city.

Another group of Palestinians was injured in an Israeli strike that targeted the homes of the Al-Louh and Abu Shaaban families in the Al-Sabra neighborhood as well.

The Israeli artillery continued to bombard areas in the Al-Nasr neighborhood and the Al-Maqousi area northwest of Gaza city.

Israeli artillery shelled the intersection of the Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza city.

In the central strip, a Palestinian was killed and others waiting for aid were injured by Israeli army fire near the distribution center around the Netzarim junction.

The Israeli army also renewed its bombardment of the Al-Azhar University building around the Netzarim junction.

Israeli fighter jets conducted an airstrike on the eastern side of the Al-Maghazi camp, while artillery shelled areas in the northern part of the Al-Bureij camp.

On Saturday, Netanyahu's office announced readiness to implement the first phase of Trump's plan for the immediate release of all Israeli prisoners.

Meanwhile, Israeli army radio and the official Hebrew broadcasting authority reported that the political leadership directed a halt to the occupation of Gaza city and "to reduce military activity in the strip to purely defensive operations."

On September 29, Trump announced a plan consisting of 20 points, including: the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while around 11,100 Palestinians are imprisoned in its jails, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, with many having died, according to human rights and media reports.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 67,074 deaths and 169,430 injuries, most of whom are children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 459 Palestinians, including 154 children.
