The White House spokesperson, Caroline Levitt, stated that Washington expects Hamas to approve President Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, warning that any negative response from the movement would represent a 'red line' that the American president himself would set.
In an interview with 'Fox News', Levitt responded to a question about the possibility of Hamas rejecting the plan: 'This is a red line that the President of the United States will have to set, and I am confident that he will.'
She added: 'We hope and expect that Hamas will accept it so we can move forward towards a more peaceful Middle East.' For its part, Hamas continues its internal consultations and discussions with other Palestinian factions to study the proposal.
