The United Nations Security Council condemned, on Thursday evening, the strike that targeted the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday, without naming Israel. This came in a press statement agreed upon by all 15 members, including the United States, ahead of an anticipated emergency session of the Security Council later today to discuss the situation in the Middle East and address the Israeli attack on Qatar.
According to the statement prepared by both the United Kingdom and France, Security Council members expressed their condemnation of the recent strikes in Doha, the headquarters of a key mediator in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, on September 9.
Security Council members also expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of civilian lives in the Israeli attack on Doha. They emphasized the importance of de-escalation and expressed their solidarity with Qatar, reaffirming their support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
