Casualties and injuries in new Israeli attacks on Yemen

Media outlets affiliated with the Yemeni Houthi group reported on Wednesday that Israel launched attacks on the capital, Sana'a, and Al-Jawf governorate (northeast), resulting in casualties and damage to civilian homes.

The Houthi-affiliated channel "Al-Masirah" reported casualties and injuries "and damage to several homes due to the Israeli aggression on Sana'a," without specifying a number.

It added that "the Israeli aggression also targeted civilian facilities in Al-Jawf governorate, including the central bank and the government complex."

For his part, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the group's air defenses launched "a number of surface-to-air missiles while responding to the Zionist aggression against our country."

He added in a post on the American platform "X": "Some combat formations were forced to leave before carrying out their aggression, thwarting the majority of the attack."

Meanwhile, the "Al-Masirah" channel quoted the head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, as saying that "the response is inevitable to the Israeli aggression."

In contrast, the Israeli army stated in a written statement, a copy of which was sent: "Fighter jets targeted military objectives of the Houthi regime in Sana'a and Al-Jawf."

It claimed that among the targets were: "Camps where military elements of the Houthi regime were observed, in addition to the headquarters of the Houthi military media and a fuel storage site used for military activities."

It alleged that "these airstrikes came in light of the repeated attacks carried out by the Houthi regime against the occupying state, which include launching drones and surface-to-surface missiles towards Israel."

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated in a statement: "We promised more strikes, and today we are preparing for another painful blow to the Houthi organization in Yemen."

He added: "The Israeli army is attacking military camps run by Houthi elements, including the Houthi propaganda apparatus, in Sana'a and other locations across Yemen, as part of Operation 'Sounding the Bells'."

On Tuesday, the Houthi group announced the execution of "successful" military operations targeting "sensitive and vital" objectives in Eilat, Ramon Airport, and occupied Jerusalem.

On the same day, the Israeli army announced the detection of a missile launched from Yemen and its interception following alerts activated in Jerusalem (central) and settlements by the Dead Sea (southeast).

On August 28, Israel assassinated the head of the Houthi government (not internationally recognized), Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, along with several ministers due to a bombing in the capital, Sana'a.

The Houthis attack Israel with missiles and drones, targeting ships associated with it or heading towards it, claiming that their attacks are in response to the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Israel, with American support, is committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 64,656 dead and 163,503 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that claimed the lives of 404 Palestinians, including 141 children.
