The decision by the U.S. State Department to revoke visas for several Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas, was shocking, as it prevents them from attending the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to explain their people's suffering to the free world. This annual meeting is an international legal demonstration against countries and groups that violate the rights of others and insist on killing people, destroying their civil structures, and barbarically violating all their human rights. It is a diplomatic demonstration that embodies the most important principles, regulations, and provisions of international law and the United Nations.
In a first-of-its-kind move on the historical stage of the United Nations, Secretary of State (Mark Rubio) decided not to grant President Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian diplomats visas to enter the United States to attend the annual UN meeting and deliver a speech on behalf of the Palestinian people, voicing their concerns to the world from the highest international platform, which is the United Nations. This is the dome under which all countries of the world gather to call out in unison for justice, freedom, and equality for peoples, protecting their basic rights from violation, and safeguarding the lives of humanity regardless of their religions, languages, and nationalities. It is the platform where world leaders stand to call for the end of conflicts, cessation of wars, and protection of humanity, advocating for a just and comprehensive peace that is a divine right for all humans. The three heavenly religions have guaranteed them life and peace and prohibited the violation of their souls and properties. It is the legitimate platform for demanding rights, freedom, and justice for all oppressed peoples of the earth, foremost among them the Palestinian people, who are still, in the twenty-first century, witnessing the extermination of their children, the colonization of their lands, the destruction of their cities, the bombardment of their children's schools with heavy missiles, the filling of wells from which their children drink, the burning of their crops, and the theft of their livestock before the world by an Israeli occupation that does not respect or care for the laws and treaties of the United Nations, international humanitarian law, or the Geneva Conventions, and does not even respect the principles and teachings of all religions.
In the most heinous American action that violates the UN Charter, all laws, agreements, and treaties, and breaches the commitments of the United Nations General Assembly, the U.S. State Department took a scandalous action of fake diplomacy, exposing the claims of protecting and defending humanity by preventing representatives of the Palestinian people from entering the United States to voice their concerns and the voice of the Palestinian people to the world, under the pretext that this voice disturbs them and worries their diplomacy, affecting the relationship between America and its ally Israel, due to the Palestinians' diplomatic struggle for international and European recognition of their legitimate state and their right to self-determination, which the United Nations itself has recognized in several resolutions. Resolution 3234 of 1974 affirms the inalienable right to self-determination, independence, and national sovereignty of the Palestinian people, as well as several subsequent resolutions such as Resolution 67/19 of 2012, which granted Palestine observer state status at the UN, and Resolution 2017, which affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and Resolution 174 of 2024, which recognized that Palestine is eligible for full UN membership.
Secretary of State (Rubio) justified his decision by stating that under U.S. law, the minister has the right to revoke the visa of any member of an organization, authority, or state, and considered that the (PLO) no longer fulfills its obligations and continuously works to undermine peace. He accused the Palestinian leadership of not renouncing terrorism and continuing to incite violence, and of launching international legal campaigns against Israel through the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice.
In a separate statement on the American platform X, (Tommy Bigot), Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, wrote: "Before we take them seriously as partners in peace, the Palestinian Authority and (PLO) must unequivocally reject terrorism and stop the unproductive pursuit of unilateral recognition of a fictional state." This illustrates the extent of American arrogance and blatant bias towards the occupying state without shame or embarrassment from a world that knows that President Abu Mazen has condemned terrorism in all its forms from the United Nations platform throughout many years, including organized Israeli terrorism targeting Palestinians, their land, their children, their history, and their holy places, foremost among them Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Moreover, Mr. Riyad Mansour, the representative of the State of Palestine at the United Nations, has consistently affirmed on every occasion and in every meeting the condemnation of the State of Palestine and its unequivocal rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cases where states are involved, whether directly or indirectly. He has always
