PALESTINE

Does the United Nations today repeat the experience of the League of Nations in Abyssinia 90 years ago?

In 1935, Italy, led by Mussolini, launched an aggression against Abyssinia, and the League of Nations failed to take a decisive stance to stop this aggression. The positions of the major powers at the time varied, as there were fears of pushing Italy to ally with Nazi Germany. Despite the decisions made by the League in favor of Ethiopia, these decisions were not implemented, leading to Italy's withdrawal from the League.

Today, it seems that history is repeating itself with the Zionist occupation in Palestine, where international positions of inaction are recurring. The Secretary-General of the United Nations and many international organizations have condemned the starvation war waged by the occupation against our people in Gaza, but these condemnations remain ineffective due to the American veto that protects the occupation.

The delayed stance of the United Nations reflects the stagnation of the international organization and its inability to make binding decisions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter. This incapacity threatens the organization's existence, especially if unconditional American support for the occupation continues without any balance.

International relations are heading towards a state of absolute incapacity to stop the war against the Palestinian people, threatening to paralyze the international system. The absence of any role for international laws and treaties leaves the world in a state of chaos, where the law of the jungle prevails.

The predicament that the world is experiencing due to the American veto confirms that what is happening in Gaza is not merely an assault on a people, but an assault on the international system. This situation poses a threat to the security of the entire world and reflects the international community's inability to protect human rights.

If the situation continues as it is, we may witness the dissolution of the United Nations and all its affiliated organizations, which could lead to global chaos. The international community must address this crisis towards a more effective and just system.
