Details of a Hamas Leadership Meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister in Istanbul

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas revealed details of the meeting held between a leadership delegation from the movement, headed by Mohammed Darwish, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul, where both sides discussed the latest political developments and efforts to stop the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.

The meeting addressed the ongoing crime of starvation in the Gaza Strip, which is considered part of the continuous aggression against the region, in addition to attempts at displacement in Gaza and the West Bank, issues of settlement, land confiscation, and the Judaization of Jerusalem, within the framework of the ongoing Israeli escalation against Palestinian territories.

Hamas's statement indicated that the movement's delegation reviewed during the meeting the actions taken by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, through ethnic cleansing and starvation by preventing food, medicine, and other means of life, considering these policies as a crime of genocide against the Palestinian people.

Darwish emphasized during the meeting that Hamas is ready to return to negotiations as soon as the humanitarian crisis ends, stressing the necessity of allowing sufficient aid to alleviate the suffering of the population in Gaza, and asserting that the Palestinian resistance continues to defend the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and dignity, and to work towards establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed Turkey's ongoing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression and to work on delivering humanitarian aid urgently and effectively, reaffirming his country's continued support for the Palestinian cause.

Fidan pointed out that "Gaza is witnessing a genocide that brings shame to the international community," reiterating Turkey's firm rejection of the Israeli occupation's steps aimed at displacing Palestinians from Gaza and annexing the West Bank, expressing his concern over the escalation of Israeli aggression against Palestinian territories.

Fidan added that "Israel" aims, by prolonging the ceasefire negotiations, to break the resistance of Palestinians in Gaza and force them to leave their homes, emphasizing that the international community must act to stop these crimes and end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
