Hamas Responds to Trump's Statements on Aid: His Accusations Are Unfounded and Lack Evidence

The Hamas movement issued a strongly worded statement condemning the remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he claimed that the movement is stealing and selling humanitarian aid provided to Gaza. The movement confirmed that these allegations are unfounded and lack any reliable evidence.

Hamas clarified that Trump's claims were justified only by reports and testimonies from international organizations, including the United Nations, in addition to an internal investigation by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which confirmed that there are no reports indicating that the movement has stolen aid. It emphasized that these accusations come in the context of an ongoing smear campaign against it.

The movement stressed that what is happening in the Gaza Strip in terms of famine and genocide is a direct result of Israeli occupation policies supported by the United States, which uses food and medicine as weapons of war against more than two million people living in the sector. It confirmed that the occupation imposes a comprehensive siege on Gaza, aimed at starving the population and weakening their resistance.

Hamas called on the U.S. administration to stop viewing the situation solely from an Israeli perspective and to take its moral and legal responsibilities regarding what is happening in Gaza. It urged the international community to condemn the starvation and siege policies imposed by the occupation and to work on supporting efforts to deliver humanitarian aid safely and fully through the United Nations, while rejecting dealings with what it described as the "Gaza Humanitarian Institution," which it considered a trap to kill the hungry and those in need of assistance.
