The Palestinian government issued an urgent call to the international community and its humanitarian institutions to exert more pressure on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings of the Gaza Strip for the entry of aid trucks that are piling up in the vicinity of Gaza, at a time when food insecurity levels have reached 100%, according to reports from specialized UN institutions, and to stop the escalating use of hunger as a weapon to kill our people in the sector that is facing a genocide.
The Palestinian government also praised, in a statement issued today, Saturday, the ongoing efforts made by international humanitarian and UN institutions that provide their contributions to our starving people in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the need to secure more resources necessary to complete relief operations on a wider scale as soon as larger quantities of aid are allowed in and a ceasefire is established.
The government expressed its high appreciation for the joint coordination between Jordan, the UAE, France, Spain, and Germany, which led to the air dropping of aid packages over the sector, amid the escalating hunger crisis reaching unprecedented dangerous and catastrophic levels.
