Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, warned Monday of an impending disaster as the hospital's diesel fuel supply runs out, indicating that only a few hours remain before a complete halt to healthcare services.
Hospital spokesman Khalil Al-Daqran said in a statement, "The continued power outage, in light of the lack of diesel fuel to operate the generators, will lead to a complete paralysis in all hospital departments, most notably operating rooms, intensive care, nurseries, and dialysis machines, putting the lives of hundreds of patients at immediate risk."
He called on all relevant authorities and international and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to provide sufficient quantities of diesel and ensure the continuity of medical services to citizens in the Central Governorate.
