Iranian Health Ministry: 224 dead and more than 1,000 wounded since the start of the Israeli aggression.

The Iranian Ministry of Health announced early Monday that the death toll from Israeli attacks on Iran has risen to 224, with more than 1,000 injured, since the start of the military escalation last Friday.

The head of the Ministry of Health's Public Relations and Media Center, Hossein Kermanpour, said in a social media post that the total number of dead and injured has reached 1,481, including 1,277 who have been transferred to university hospitals for treatment, according to Mehran News Agency.

Kermanpour explained that more than 90% of the injuries were recorded among civilians.

He pointed out that 522 of the wounded had left the hospital after receiving treatment, indicating that women and children were among the victims.

At dawn on Friday, Israel, with tacit US support, launched a massive attack on Iran with dozens of fighter jets, bombing nuclear facilities and missile bases in various areas and assassinating prominent military leaders and nuclear scientists.

The Israeli military said the attack was "preemptive" and came under directives from the political echelon, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the "unprecedented" operation aimed to "strike Iran's nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile factories, and numerous other military capabilities."
