Five people were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting a fuel station in southern Lebanon on Friday, in continuation of successive Israeli violations of the ceasefire with Hezbollah.
This came according to what was confirmed by the Lebanese National News Agency, which reported that "a hostile drone targeted a fuel station on the Houla road with three missiles."
She added that this "led to the injury of five people in a prefabricated room on the station's roof."
This comes as four people were killed on Thursday in two Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency and the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Thursday evening that a second Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of one citizen and the injury of another. The Ministry of Health had previously announced that an Israeli airstrike on the town of Mays al-Jabal resulted in the death of three people, a Lebanese citizen and two Syrians, after their vehicle was targeted near the road linking the towns of Mays al-Jabal and Blida.
This raid is part of a series of attacks launched by the Israeli Air Force in southern Lebanon, which over the past few weeks have included the targeting of civilian vehicles, motorcycles, and homes, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries, including civilians, in a clear violation of Lebanese sovereignty and a blatant infringement of international law.
Israel is also intensifying its use of drones to target individuals and vehicles, a tactic that has become a prominent feature of its aggression against Lebanon. This exacerbates tensions and threatens to expand the scope of the confrontation with Hezbollah, given the international community's inability to curb this dangerous escalation.
The targeting of civilians and vehicles comes amid Israel's continued policy of field assassinations and repeated violations of the Lebanese border. The United Nations continues to warn of the deteriorating situation on the southern front, but this has yet to translate into concrete steps to halt the attacks.
