Today, Monday, the UN Security Council will hold a session on Palestine, during which members will hear a briefing from the Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, on the implementation of UN Resolution No. 2720.
Last December, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling for urgent steps to immediately allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and create conditions for a ceasefire.
The Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services, Jorge Moreira da Silva, will also provide a briefing on the matter.
It is noteworthy that the United Nations Office for Project Services has been assigned to activate and manage the mechanism stipulated in Resolution 2720.
