Qatar calls on the international community to take action to prevent genocide in Rafah

The State of Qatar called on the international community on Wednesday to take action to prevent a "genocide" in the city of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, after the Israeli occupation took control of the Palestinian side of the border crossing with Egypt and threatened a broader attack.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar called for "international action to prevent the city from being invaded and the crime of genocide being committed."

It stressed that forcing civilians to forcibly displace from Rafah is a serious violation of international laws and would double the humanitarian crisis.
