Two Hezbollah members and a civilian were killed in an Israeli bombing of southern Lebanon

Two Hezbollah members and a civilian were killed and three civilians were injured at dawn today (Saturday) in Israeli bombing on several border towns in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military and medical sources.


Military sources told Xinhua News Agency, "Israeli warplanes carried out a series of air strikes at dawn on five towns in the eastern and central sectors of the border region in southern Lebanon."


It explained, "A warplane targeted with two missiles a house in the center of the town of Kafr Kila in the eastern sector of the border area, which led to its complete destruction, the killing of two Hezbollah members who were inside, and the wounding of three civilians."


The sources added, "Another warplane targeted a two-story house in the town of Kafr Shuba, Hasbaya district in the eastern sector, which led to its destruction and the killing of its owner, Qassem Asaad."


The raids led to the destruction of five homes in three towns and damage to about 35 homes in the eastern sector of the border area, according to the sources.


It noted, "Members of the Civil Defense, the Islamic Health Authority, and the Islamic Message Scouts Association went to the targeted homes, equipped with bulldozers, cranes, fire trucks, and ambulances. They worked to remove the rubble and transported three bodies and three wounded to the Hasbaya and Marjayoun hospitals in southern Lebanon."


An official Lebanese medical source confirmed to Xinhua, "Two bodies and 3 wounded were transferred to Marjayoun Governmental Hospital, and one body to Hasbaya Governmental Hospital."


While the official Lebanese National News Agency reported, “Israeli warplanes carried out two raids at dawn on the towns of Kafar Shuba and Shebaa, which led to the death of a citizen, the destruction of two homes, and significant damage.”


On the other hand, Hezbollah announced in a statement that its fighters bombed on Friday evening “the Habushit site and the 810 Hermon Brigade headquarters in the Maale Golani barracks with dozens of Katyusha rockets,” in response to the Israeli bombing “on steadfast villages and civilian homes, especially the cowardly assassination on the Sarira road,” in A reference to the killing of two leaders of the Islamic Group in an Israeli raid on the Western Bekaa region in the east of the country.


A Lebanese military source told Xinhua, "About 20 surface-to-surface missiles were monitored from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel, some of which were intercepted by Israeli Iron Dome missiles, a number of which exploded in the airspace of the Kfar Shuba area in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon."


On Friday, two leaders of the Islamic Group in Lebanon were killed in a raid launched by an Israeli march on a civilian four-wheel drive vehicle that was driving on a road linking the towns of Sarira and Maidoun in the Western Bekaa, according to Lebanese and Israeli sources.
The Islamic Group is an Islamic political organization with a military wing under the name “Fajr Forces” that recently carried out military operations against the Israeli army.
The border between Lebanon and Israel has witnessed exchanges of fire and bombing between Hezbollah and armed factions on the one hand and the Israeli army on the other since the outbreak of war between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel in the Gaza Strip on October 7th.
