Kirby: Iran suffered a stunning defeat

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that reports of Washington receiving early warning from Iran before its attack were "false."

Kirby added during a press conference on Monday that Iran clearly intended to cause massive destruction, but it suffered a stunning defeat, as 99 percent of the missiles and drones it launched were destroyed.

He pointed out that there is a viable ceasefire proposal in Gaza on the table and Hamas must take it.

Kirby stressed that the United States will not abandon the idea of negotiation until it can achieve a ceasefire, release detainees, and bring aid into the Gaza Strip.
