In the dark night, the late Palestinian media knight Mahmoud Abu Al-Zaluf - Abu Marwan - is missed
To write about a national media figure who lived through different historical periods, full of great challenges, is not an easy matter, in order to give him his historical right and shed light on his rich career, so that younger and later generations can recognize a specific personality, who left a media message that still penetrates the darkness and in which the Palestinian citizen finds an outlet to express his joys and sorrows.
There are many characteristics and successes of the late Abu Marwan, Mahmoud Abu Al-Zaluf, founder of the newspaper "Al-Quds" which, as I said above, was born from the womb of suffering, and is still making its way despite all the difficulties and challenges.
One of the most important of these achievements is the ability of the media knight, who dismounted while on the job, to formulate an insightful media vision in its independence and comprehensiveness, and the satisfaction of the vast majority of audiences with it throughout its successive historical eras.
A second success trait that characterized this great journalist was his ability to convey his message and vision to his successors, male and female, and to his life partner, who was awake day and night and with all concern for the continuity of the independent national approach that he adopted. It is as if he was extrapolating the future of our people, and the state of confusion and strife experienced by this people, to which the media knight Abu Marwan belongs. Yes, he completely moved away from sectarianism and narrow partisanship and mortgaged himself and his media organization to serve his people and their just cause, without giving up his professional and humanitarian principles. How much we need such penetrating vision and insight.
Believing in the important role played by the media in promoting civil peace, defending human rights, and serving society in all its aspects, we would like to launch an academic initiative, Abu Al-Zaluf for Media, through which young media professionals are trained on how to employ the media to confront hate speech, and to strengthen and unite all efforts to serve all of humanity, and we are absolutely certain that his family and many friends have the ability and love of loyalty to return some of the favor to this media figure, which is missed not only by the Palestinian media family, but also by the Arab and even international media.
Your efforts, Abu Marwan, and influences will remain immortal among the generations who studied in your school or who would like to follow in your footsteps. Sleep soundly, for here are the children carrying the flag with all honesty, care, and integrity, to continue accomplishing more of what you aspired to when you began the journey.
