The World Health Organization said - yesterday, Friday - that it has no information about the fate of the director of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, who was arrested by Israel this week, and called for “full respect for his rights.”
The organization stated in a statement that the director of the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip was arrested on November 22, along with five other health workers, while they were participating in a United Nations-led mission to evacuate patients.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network expressed its concern about reports of the World Health Organization's possible involvement in the Israeli army's kidnapping of medical personnel in Gaza, including the director of the Shifa Medical Complex, Muhammad Abu Salamiya.
