Macron meets Mahmoud Abbas today in Ramallah

French President Emmanuel Macron will meet Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, today, Tuesday, according to the latter’s office.

Macron is the last Western leader to make a solidarity visit to Israel after the October 7 attacks launched by the Al-Qassam Brigades, "Hamas", but he will be the first to visit the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority in the occupied West Bank during the crisis.

The French presidency has not yet confirmed the meeting, according to Agence France-Presse.

Earlier Tuesday, the French President called for avoiding "expansion" of the war between the Qassam Brigades, Hamas, and Israel.

Macron said, after meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, "I believe that our mission is to fight these terrorist groups, without expanding the scope of the conflict," according to Agence France-Presse.

He added, "The first goal that we must have today is to liberate all hostages without any discrimination."
