Scientists have discovered a rare species of orchid called Kylochista densiflora , in Mtoke County in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, and a summary of this discovery has been published in the journal Phytotaxa (Plant Classification).
In this context; The summary of the research paper said that morphologically, this type of orchid is characterized by having a middle lobe with mature callus extending from the base to the apex, and having two conical calluses at the base, in addition to a short plump column.
turn; Jin Xiaohua, a researcher with the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that this orchid was first discovered in Bhutan, and only Mutoc County in China is known to have this kind of orchid in China.
Jin added that Mutuk Governorate has a great advantage in terms of vertical elevation, as it extends across a range of regions with different climates and different vegetation belts with diverse flora and fauna, which provides favorable conditions for the growth of orchids.
The results showed that Mtoke is among the nine provinces which are orchid hotspots in China.
