The Israeli occupation army announced the start of the next phase of Operation "Gideon's Chariots 2," which includes carrying out extensive airstrikes on the infrastructure of Hamas in the city of Gaza.
According to a statement issued by the occupation army, the air force has completed three waves of strikes based on intelligence information, targeting more than 360 sites using dozens of warplanes.
The statement clarified that the occupation forces began since last Friday to target high-rise buildings that "have been converted into centers for terrorist infrastructure," including observation points, command centers, sniper sites, and weapon storage facilities.
The occupation claimed that these buildings posed a direct threat to its forces.
The first wave of strikes focused on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, where it was claimed that observation sites and operational tunnels belonging to the Al-Tuffah battalion were targeted, in addition to an interrogation facility belonging to Hamas.
The second and third waves included the Al-Tuffah and Al-Furqan areas, targeting underground gathering points that were used to plan for "terrorist activities," in addition to a factory for producing "RPG" and mortar shells, and a weapons storage site.
The occupation army confirmed that it has taken "extensive measures" to minimize potential harm to civilians before carrying out the strikes.
The statement indicated that the Israeli occupation will increase the frequency of targeted airstrikes in the coming days, with the aim of "dismantling the infrastructure of Hamas, reducing its operational readiness, and decreasing the threat to the occupation forces in preparation for the next phases of the operation."
