Indonesia has announced its plans to establish an advanced medical center on Galang Island, aimed at receiving and treating two thousand Palestinians injured due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. This was stated in an official announcement by the spokesperson for the Indonesian presidency, Hassan Nasibi, who confirmed that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the provision of necessary medical assistance for about two thousand injured individuals, along with their families, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people amid the ongoing escalation of aggression.

Nasibi pointed out that the new medical facility will provide all the necessary capabilities for treating the injured, and that the hospital and medical facilities currently on the island will be used to facilitate treatment operations, with the injured returning to Gaza after receiving treatment and recovering. This initiative comes as part of Indonesia's ongoing support for the Palestinian people, especially in light of the continued Israeli aggression that has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 61,000 Palestinians and the injury of hundreds of thousands, amidst a state of displacement, hunger, and widespread destruction.

In a related context, the spokesperson confirmed that the Israeli aggression that began on October 7, 2023, amounts to genocide, as the occupying state ignores all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to cease the aggression, continuing its operations of killing, destruction, and starvation, which has left behind hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, led to the deaths of dozens of children, increased the number of missing persons, and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in an unprecedented manner. Indonesia emphasizes the necessity of stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on Gaza, and working to protect Palestinian civilians from the ongoing crimes of the occupation.
