US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday that the United States had no prior knowledge of the attack targeting Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas, in Tehran.
Blinken said, as reported by the New York Times, that the US administration did not participate in any way in the attack.
The Washington Post also quoted Blinken as saying: The Biden administration did not receive prior warning about the attack on Haniyeh and had no role in it.
The Israeli army correspondent commented on this, saying: Israel does not inform any external party about this type of assassination.
