US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed issues related to the release of prisoners and humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
During a phone conversation, Biden welcomed the release of prisoners held by Hamas over the past three days, and the two leaders agreed to continue to support the release of all prisoners held by Hamas.
The White House said in a statement, "The two leaders agreed that the work is not over yet, and agreed that they will continue to work to ensure the release of all prisoners, as well as to remain in close contact over the coming days."
They also discussed stopping the fighting and providing much-needed additional humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to the White House statement.
