Egyptian Partisan leaders: Egypt will not allow the Palestinian cause to be liquidated

Egyptian Partisan leaders denounced the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation army against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, including the siege and cutting off of electricity, water, food, and fuel, and that this is a crime against humanity and in violation of international humanitarian law.

Secretary-General of the Protectors of the Nation Party, and First Undersecretary of the Defense and National Security Committee in the Senate, Tariq Nosair, said that the Palestinian issue is the issue of all Arabs, and that Egypt has not and will not hesitate for a moment in defending the issue, and it is one of the established principles of Egyptian policy throughout the past decades, and this is what the President confirmed. Al-Sisi in his statements to editors and media professionals on the sidelines of Egypt’s celebration of the graduation of a new batch of police officers.

He added that Egypt always emphasizes in all forums its support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to determine their fate and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He denounced the violations committed by the occupation army in the Gaza Strip, considering this a crime against humanity and a violation of international humanitarian law. .

He stressed that all attempts made by the Israeli occupation to liquidate the Palestinian cause and displace the Palestinian people from their land are unacceptable, and there is no tolerance or neglect of Egypt’s national security under any circumstances, denouncing the position of the international community in support of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and ignoring the rights of the Palestinian people.

The media spokesman for the Civil Movement, Khaled Dawoud, said that all of the movement’s parties categorically reject the suspicious plans pursued by the Israeli occupation for decades in order to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

Daoud called on the international community, which is biased towards the Israeli occupation, to realize that the occupation's plans will only lead to igniting the entire region.

He also called on the United States and the European Union to realize that acts of legitimate resistance against the occupation cannot justify the genocide carried out by the occupation army of Palestinians in Gaza, noting that the West has ignored the killing of hundreds of Palestinians in the continuous bombing operations against civilians in Gaza since October 7. October 1st is blatant and unacceptable racism.

The head of the Egypt October Party, Jehan Madih, also warned against the occupation authorities’ attempts to convince the Palestinians to move outside their lands, which are an inherent and historical right for them, noting that the Palestinian popular consensus must be at the heart of one man and adhere to its historical rights, which are rooted in the depths of ancient and modern history. .

Madih added that giving the landowners a choice between death under bombing and rubble or displacement from their lands is a failed attempt that the occupation authorities have repeated before and that Egypt and Palestine alike confronted, pointing out that displacement and leaving the land achieves the occupier’s goal of settling the issue in his favor.

For his part, the head of the Congress Party, Captain Omar Al-Mukhtar Samaida, affirmed that Egypt will not abandon its commitment to Arab issues, especially the Palestinian issue, and that Egypt is following with interest developments in the situation in the region as well as on the Palestinian arena, describing the current escalation as very dangerous and having repercussions that may affect the security and stability of the region. It serves as conclusive evidence of the continuation of the historical and pivotal role towards the issues of the Arab nation, most notably the Palestinian issue, and reflects the clear position of Egypt’s leadership and people towards the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people.

The head of the Egyptian National Movement Party, Raouf Al-Sayyid, also said that the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip violates all international conventions in light of a suspicious global silence that reflects the magnitude of the real tragedy that strikes justice in the killing.

Al-Sayyed expressed his rejection of the bidding of many parties regarding Egypt’s position on the crisis, despite all the support and support that Egypt has provided to the Palestinian cause throughout its history, noting that if the world wants true justice, it must implement the international law and treaties that stipulate the right of the Palestinians to establish their state. Independent State, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He added that the incitement of some people against Egypt and the attempts to force our people in Gaza to flee towards Sinai are all miserable and desperate attempts that do not represent a solution, but are merely pretexts that further inflame the situation and aggravate the situation without any basis for legitimacy.

The head of the Union Party, Reda Saqr, denounced the brutal aggression launched by the occupation against the Gaza Strip in brutal practices that contradict all rules of international law, as the occupation army launches a massive attack targeting civilians and the defenseless Palestinian people, imposing a complete siege on the Strip, which contradicts international norms.

He also denounced the international and human rights silence regarding the crimes committed by the occupation in Gaza, which is a revelation of double standards and double standards.

For its part, the New Independents Party praised the position of the Egyptian state on the Palestinian issue. The party welcomed President Sisi’s statements regarding the Palestinian issue and Egypt’s position rejecting the attack on Gaza, noting that President Sisi’s statements are clear of Egypt’s commitment to its role in this file and its commitment as one of the most important regional powers influencing this conflict. .

He also praised Egypt's emphasis on the refusal to liquidate the Palestinian issue at the expense of other countries, pointing out that President Sisi's statements confirm the strength of the Egyptian position, and that Egyptian national security is a red line.

Iranian “Tasnim” agency “big surprise” awaiting for Israel in Gaza

Today (Thursday), the Iranian “Tasnim” agency reported from what it described as “informed sources in the Palestinian resistance” in Gaza that “Hamas has studied, since planning the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, the necessary preparations to confront the Zionist entity’s ground attack on Gaza... and has prepared measures.” necessary for that. Therefore, there is a plan for a major surprise coming to create a major nightmare for the Zionist soldiers if they launch a ground attack.”

The agency reported that “the resistance in the past had similar experiences in the field of preemptive measures to spoil the Zionist entity’s plan.” In this context, we can, for example, point to the 33-Day War, where the capture of soldiers from the Zionist enemy led to a change in Tel Aviv’s plan to occupy southern Lebanon. “Ultimately defeating the enemy during this process.”

The Iranian agency continued, “This time too, (Hamas) launched an operation to force (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu to respond, so that his army would be forced to launch an operation in Gaza without making all the necessary preparations... The second important point is that since (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu’s control Hamas) invaded Gaza in 2005. The Zionist entity resorted to launching large-scale operations four times, but it was never able to preserve even a single meter of the soil of this land during its occupation. This is while the military power of Hamas has doubled today (compared to the first years of its control over Gaza), and it seems impossible to seize Gaza.

It quoted “international observers, and even Zionist experts, that the Al-Aqsa Flood operation was a major intelligence scandal for the Zionist entity.” It is natural, with these preparations, that its planners have taken sufficient measures for its next stages, especially the decision of the Tel Aviv authorities to launch ground operations in Gaza.

Israel's worrying options!

Osman Mirghani

Osman Mirghani

Opinion Writer

There is no surprise in the events in Gaza except in the timing and scale of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. Gaza was living in a catastrophic situation under a continuous siege for 17 years, under the eyes of the world, and with great disregard for its plight. The situation in the Palestinian arena in general has been simmering ever since Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli extremists decided to implement the two-state solution, and the world helped them do that by removing the Palestinian issue from the agenda, while the policies of settlement expansion and land annihilation, intensifying pressure on the Palestinians, and escalating provocations in Jerusalem continued.

The Palestinians' sense of injustice must have increased as they see the double standards in the West's dealings with the Ukrainian crisis, and the raising of voices about legitimate rights, international laws, and resistance to the occupation, while this talk fades when it comes to them and their cause.

What did Israel and the world expect then?

Inside Israel, there were voices, albeit a few, warning that closing the path to peace, the policy of arrogance, and continuing to undermine the rights of the Palestinians and confiscate their lands, would lead to the detonation of the situation. But the world did not pay attention to those voices, which made the Netanyahu government persist in its escalatory policies and arrogance until it was surprised by the “flood of Al-Aqsa,” which will certainly have repercussions.

Israel is now mobilizing for a large-scale ground attack expected at any moment, and Hamas and the other Palestinian movements must have taken this into account when they launched this operation, and thus prepared for it. The expected battle will certainly be more difficult than all the previous ones, and the losses on both sides will be greater. Fighting in Gaza's narrow streets and densely populated neighborhoods will be a difficult process and may mean a longer fight than what happened in the 2014 summer war, which lasted 51 days. The scale of material and human losses, the number of rockets fired by Palestinian factions, and the tons of bombs and projectiles that Israel dropped on the Gaza Strip throughout the period of that war have been exceeded today, even before the expected ground invasion began.

Israeli thinking seems focused on a massive operation to cause the greatest possible destruction in Gaza, and to “discipline” Hamas and its allied factions. Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israeli army, confirmed in statements on Tuesday that hundreds of tons of bombs had already been dropped on Gaza, and acknowledged that “the focus is on damage, not accuracy.” Israel is now practicing a policy of collective punishment, whether through unprecedented bombing or by placing Gaza under a comprehensive siege.

If Israel thinks rationally, all of its previous operations in Gaza or the West Bank have only achieved intermittent truces at best, while true peace remains elusive. All the lethal force it uses, the Iron Dome, the costly wall, and continuous electronic and aerial surveillance, did not succeed in protecting it and it was exposed by very simple means, some of which were primitive, used by Hamas and the factions participating with it in the “Al-Aqsa Flood.” Bulldozers destroy the wall and open gaps in it for fighters to cross, crossing with cars, gliders, motorcycles, tuk-tuk buses, and waves of missiles that are incomparable with the latest military technology that Israel possesses.

The problem is that Israel will not see things from this perspective. Rather, Netanyahu, under current pressure and accusing his government of the greatest security failure, may also consider reoccupying the Gaza Strip, an option that will not only be extremely costly for Israel, but will lead the entire region to a catastrophic situation open to destruction. All possibilities, including expanding the scope of the war and its repercussions, and creating more factors of destabilization, especially with the rise of the Israeli right, which wants to completely erase the Palestinian issue, while many have begun to voice calls to expel the Palestinians, displace them, and empty the land from them.

Last May, Israeli analyst Gideon Levy wrote in the Haaretz newspaper, warning that after Netanyahu and the extreme right succeed in killing the two-state solution, there will be two plans or possibilities for the end of the apartheid system in which Israel is operating. “One of them is favored by the extreme right and almost all Israelis, which is a second Nakba. If the confrontation reaches its climax, and Israel finds itself faced with two options: either a system based on one democratic state for two peoples, or a collective expulsion of the Palestinians in order to preserve the Jewish state, then the most likely and clear choice for almost every Israeli Jew is to expel the Palestinians.

It is this second option that makes many countries in the region worry about Netanyahu’s policies and the blockage of the horizon for Palestinian peace. Therefore, it was not surprising that Cairo was quick to respond to what appeared to be Israeli attempts to encourage the residents of Gaza to head to Egypt in search of safety from the violent bombing that has been continuing for days.

Israel wants and hopes to wash its hands of the Palestinian issue and deport it to other Arab countries. You want normalization without real compensation, and peace without prices or concessions. This thinking will not achieve a solution or stability, but rather will further aggravate the situation.

The inescapable truth is that there is no solution or stability without a just peace, and this has a price that Israel does not want to pay. As long as the situation remains like this, and the agendas of Netanyahu and the extreme right continue to push towards more expansionist policies and attempts to erase the Palestinian issue, cycles of violence and wars will continue, Israel will not know peace, and the region will not enjoy the stability it longs for.

Russia says Commonwealth of Independent States in favor of cease-fire, Israel-Palestine talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday said that his counterparts from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are in favor of a cease-fire and talks between Israel and Palestine.

“Today, we touched on this topic. We'll see before the (CIS) summit whether it will be possible to agree on some common position for its official presentation. But everyone has a common opinion … that it is necessary to immediately stop this conflict,” Lavrov said, following a CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek.

Lavrov further said that this common position also involves compliance with international humanitarian law, the prevention of any manifestations of “terrorist acts,” and indiscriminate use of force “from which civilians can and are already suffering” on both sides.

“We very much hope that once this conflict is over … everyone will take seriously the responsibility to implement the decision of the UN Security Council to create a Palestinian state based on the principles that have been approved by the UN,” Lavrov said.

In a dramatic escalation of Middle East tensions, Israeli forces have launched a sustained and forceful military campaign against the Gaza Strip in response to a military offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas in Israeli territories.

The conflict began when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel, a multi-pronged surprise attack including a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel via land, sea, and air, which Hamas said was in retaliation for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians.

In response to Hamas' actions, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets within the Gaza Strip. Israel's response has extended into cutting water and electricity supplies to Gaza, further worsening the living conditions in an area that has reeled under a crippling siege since 2007.

UN official: Significant part of Palestinian population in Gaza being 'wiped off'

A significant part of Gaza's population is being "wiped off," the UN rapporteur for Palestinian territories said Thursday, as the blockaded city continues to face intense Israeli strikes and shelling.

"What's happening is that a significant part of the Palestinian population in Gaza is being wiped off. Not differently from what has happened before in ... but with increased ferocity," Francesca Albanese, the UN's special rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, told Anadolu in a video interview.

Albanese also commented on a decision by Israel earlier this week to cut off Gaza's supply of water, electricity, food, and other basic facilities, underlining that starving a besieged population and depriving them of essentials was a war crime.

"If it's intentional and, in the context of a widespread and systemic attack against a civilian population, it also constitutes a crime against humanity," she added.

Albanese stressed that civilian Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza also must be released and that their continued captivity was "absolutely unjustified."

"And I also want to say that by carpet bombing the Gaza Strip, Israel is also endangering its own civilian population which is held captive by Hamas in Gaza," she said.

Need for humanitarian corridor

On demands for a humanitarian corridor into Gaza, she said that there was "no such discussion" among countries on establishing such a route.

"No one is ... actively negotiating it, as far as I know.

"Egypt so far has not agreed ... The West has a huge responsibility because of its unconditional support for Israel," said Albanese.

Underscoring the need for open humanitarian corridors immediately for the wounded and those in critical condition in Gaza, she asserted that at the same time, Israel must stop bombing the civilian population.

A cease-fire is also essential to halt the hostilities and providing aid is a priority, as are the release of hostages and establishment of a protective presence in the occupied Palestinian territories, said the UN official.

"The fact that Israel has said multiple times that the Palestinians from Gaza need to be moved to Egypt or that Gaza needs to be annexed by Egypt doesn't improve the situation, because everyone thinks that this is a second or third instance of Israel foreseeably displacing Palestinians from the land."

Humanitarian situation in Gaza

Albanese highlighted the overwhelmed state of hospitals in Gaza still functioning under the Israeli bombardment, saying that they had reached maximum capacity.

"There are patients sharing the same bed, patients laying on the ground and there are no medicines," she said.

At the moment, there is "no possibility of anything entering Gaza," according to Albanese, who said the enclave is "under total siege."

Describing the situation as catastrophic, she said there were people on the ground in the city, running with dead or wounded in their arms, trying to find shelter of which there is none in the city.

Throughout the fighting, now in its fifth day, Albanese said, "every rule of international humanitarian law had been broken."

Israeli sources: We received signals before the attack, but they were not taken into account

Israeli sources said that the army received intelligence signals indicating that there were preparations the night before the attacks from the besieged Gaza Strip, but they were not taken into account.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said, "There was no concrete intelligence warning about this incident. There were a set of intelligence signals the night before, but not about such a move."

This came as an assessment of the criticisms related to the presence of security weakness during the “Al-Aqsa Deluge” attacks launched by the Palestinian factions on the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip on October 7.

In turn, Israeli Channel 12 said, citing senior sources, that there were indications that something might happen on the eve of the Hamas attack, but they were not taken into account.

Hagari reported that the army targeted the homes and bases of the elite forces of the Al-Qassam Brigades, which participated in the attacks on the Israeli settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.

He confirmed that the Israeli army is making preparations in anticipation of a possible attack from the north on the border with Lebanese territory where Hezbollah is active.

At dawn on Saturday, Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza launched Operation “Al-Aqsa Deluge” in response to the continuing attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their property and sanctities, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.

On the other hand, the Israeli army launched Operation Iron Swords and continues to launch intensive raids on many areas in the Gaza Strip, which is inhabited by more than two million Palestinians who suffer deteriorating living conditions as a result of an ongoing Israeli siege since 2006.

Red Cross: Humanitarian situation in Gaza “will quickly get out of control”

The International Red Cross warned on Thursday that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip would "quickly get out of control" in light of the concentrated Israeli bombing.

The Regional Director of the Red Cross for the Middle East, Fabrizio Carbone, expressed his concern for the fate of civilians in the Gaza Strip, which is subjected to intense daily bombing.

Israel tightened the siege imposed since 2006 on the poor Gaza Strip, with a population of 2.3 million people, cutting off water, electricity, gas and supplies.

Carbone warned during an online press conference that the humanitarian situation in the Strip “will quickly get out of control,” explaining that the ongoing bombing does not allow his organization to distribute its stock of some necessary materials, such as gasoline for electricity generators and chlorine for the water network.

He said, "The security conditions do not allow us to move freely," adding, "We have no choice if there is an agreement (to guarantee the safety of humanitarian workers) but to trust it," at a time when five paramedics from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have been killed since the start of the battles.

He stressed the need to establish a humanitarian corridor to bring in necessary materials, medical equipment and fuel, which the United Nations also called for.

The toll of the Israeli aggression against our people in Gaza rose to 1,354 martyrs and 6,049 wounded, and in the West Bank the toll rose to 31 martyrs and 180 wounded.

She renewed an urgent call to all international and international health organizations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and all countries of the world to intervene immediately and urgently to bring medicines and medical supplies, especially into operating rooms, emergency departments, and intensive care units.

Al-Kaila called on international health organizations to help open field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, to work to save the lives of the injured, especially women, children and the elderly.

Tunisia mark reservations on the decision of Arab FMs regarding situation in Gaza

The Tunisian presidency announced today (Thursday) reservations on the text of the resolution issued by the meeting of Arab foreign ministers held yesterday in Cairo, which was devoted to discussing developments in the Gaza Strip.

The presidency said in a statement published at dawn today on its official Facebook page that President Kais Saied “assigned Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar to submit the following reservation to the text of the decision issued by the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in its extraordinary session,” held on Wednesday in Cairo. .

It continued in her reservation that “Tunisia, which is firm in its positions and adheres to the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on all of the land of Palestine with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif... has reservations in its entirety” regarding the decision issued by the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.

The Tunisian presidency attributed this reservation to the fact that "Palestine is not a file or a case in which there is a plaintiff and a defendant. Rather, it is a right of the Palestinian people that cannot be lapse by statute of limitations."

Tunisia called on all of humanity to support the right of the Palestinian people to “reclaim their stolen right to their stolen land, all of Palestine.”

The Arab foreign ministers had affirmed, in a resolution entitled “The Continuing Israeli Aggression against the Palestinian People,” issued at the conclusion of their meeting yesterday in Cairo, the immediate cessation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

They stressed "the necessity of lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip, immediately allowing the entry of aid, and canceling Israel's unjust decisions to stop supplying Gaza with electricity and cutting off water."

The ministers called on all parties to exercise restraint, and warned of the catastrophic humanitarian and security repercussions of the continuation and expansion of the escalation.

The Foreign Ministers condemned the killing and targeting of civilians on both sides and all acts contrary to international law and international humanitarian law, and stressed the need to protect civilians in line with common humanitarian values and international law, and to release civilians and all prisoners and detainees.

The intensity of fighting between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel has escalated since the movement launched an unprecedented attack against Israel under the name “Al-Aqsa Flood” last Saturday, to which the Israeli army responded by launching a military operation against it under the name “Iron Swords.”

Operation "Al-Aqsa Deluge": Collapse of the Israeli strategy towards Gaza

Translation for "Al-Quds" dot com

Opinion Writer

On the morning of October 7, 2023, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" launched a surprise attack targeting Israeli army positions in the Gaza Strip. It was able to control a large military base and a number of Israeli sites and observation points spread along the borders of the Strip. Commando units affiliated with the movement also took control of about 20 Israeli settlements within the so-called “Green Line.” This unprecedented operation, according to data announced by the Israeli army so far, resulted in the killing of more than 1,200 Israeli soldiers and civilians, and the wounding of about 3,000 people, including many senior officers. Hamas and other factions also captured more than 130 Israelis.

First: Backgrounds of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood”

The operation, which Hamas called “Al-Aqsa Flood,” came against the backdrop of the continuing attacks carried out by the right-wing government, the most extreme in the history of Israel, which includes hardened settlers, against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, depriving them of their lands in preparation for their confiscation and Judaization, in addition to repeated settler attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque is protected by the Israeli army and security services. During the past weeks, the Israeli government mobilized about 30 battalions of army forces in the occupied West Bank to deter any Palestinian reaction to settler practices, and in preparation for storming Palestinian camps, towns and cities that are witnessing resistance operations against the occupation forces and settlers. As for the Gaza Strip, Israel has continued its siege since 2006, reducing the rights of Palestinian prisoners, increasing their ill-treatment, and refusing to conclude a prisoner exchange agreement, taking advantage of the weakness of the Arab position and the willingness of many Arab countries to normalize relations with it in isolation from Palestinian rights, and away from the land-for-peace formula. .

Second: A series of Israeli failures

The “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation is of great strategic importance because it establishes a change in the reality that Israel has tried to establish in the Gaza Strip since its unilateral withdrawal from it in 2005. This sudden operation led to the collapse of the Israeli strategy in dealing with Gaza and the rule of the Hamas movement there, as well as the collapse of the “Aqsa Flood” operation. Revealing the catastrophic failure of the various components of the military and security system on which Israel relied to implement its strategy; Which led to it incurring massive human losses amounting to twice its total losses in the 1967 war, the majority of whom fell on the first day of the operation. The failure of the Israeli military and security system exceeded its failure in the October 1973 War, which is known in Israeli terminology as negligence (hamehdal). Whatever the outcome of the war on Gaza, this will have major repercussions within the state apparatus and in Israeli society, and will fuel controversy over who bears responsibility for this unprecedented failure, which resulted in about 4,200 deaths and injuries, in addition to shaking the Israelis’ confidence in their security and military system and its ability. To protect them.

The greatest failure of the security services is recorded in the failure of the Israeli Military Intelligence (Aman) and General Intelligence (Shin Bet) to anticipate the operation or obtain information about it. What increased the bitterness of this intelligence failure, in a country that has long boasted of the strength of its security services and its spying capabilities around the world on both the technical and human levels, is that the failure resulted from the Gaza Strip, which these agencies monitor and collect information about around the clock using various human and electronic means. The second major failure was the fragility of the security wall that Israel built around Gaza, and bet on its ability to prevent Palestinian fighters from penetrating it, as Hamas fighters were able to penetrate it and cross through it in large numbers to more than 20 locations. Since its unilateral withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, Israel has built a reinforced concrete wall along the Strip’s borders of about 65 kilometers, 7 meters deep into the ground, and 7 meters above it. It has installed the latest electronic monitoring devices on top of it, and has also erected watchtowers on it in various places to monitor... Every movement is behind him.

The third failure was the failure of the Israeli army to protect its military base located near the northern border of the Gaza Strip, and to protect the numerous military points and watchtowers extending along the borders of the Gaza Strip, in addition to its failure to protect more than 20 settlements located on the border of the Gaza Strip, within the so-called “line.” the green"; Hamas military units were able to storm it and impose control over it, causing losses to Israeli army forces and various security services.

It seems that this sudden attack launched by Palestinian fighters, their bold performance, their organizational capabilities, and their military experience, paralyzed the Israeli military and political leadership and caused it to lose its balance. Despite the Israeli army's constant boasting of its constant readiness to confront all emergencies and possibilities and its ability to mobilize enough force to confront any attack within hours of its occurrence, it not only failed to protect its military bases, but also failed to intervene quickly to restore the military sites and Israeli settlements that it took control of. Palestinian fighters continued to move there for no less than two days, while the settlers who were hiding in parts of it cried for help.

The fourth failure was the failure of the Israeli army and various security services to secure the defense of an entertainment party in which several thousand Israeli youth participated. The ceremony was held in an open field a few kilometers away from the Gaza Strip border, near a military base, after its owners obtained all the required security permits. Moreover, the Hamas operation paralyzed the ability of the Israeli military establishment to make decisions and respond to the requirements of the security and military situation, and the confusion extended to other state institutions that were prevented by the shock of the attack from quickly dealing with its results, including the late arrival to the dead and wounded, and the failure to provide Initial information for the families of the dead, wounded and missing, even several days after the start of the operation.

Third: The Israeli government’s reactions and calculations

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, announced after consultations with army commanders and members of the security cabinet that Israel was now in a state of war, and called for an end to the differences within Israeli society. The Minister of Security announced the summoning of more than 300,000 reserve forces in preparation for waging a war on the Gaza Strip and the mobilization of large forces on the northern front in anticipation of the possibility of the military situation erupting on the border with Lebanon and to deter Hezbollah from engaging in the war. On the same day, the Israeli government met and assigned the political and security “cabinet,” consisting of 11 ministers, to make the decision to launch war or a major military operation. The political-security cabinet is expected to determine the war goals and inform the Knesset about this in the next few days.

In light of the shaking of Israeli confidence in the government and the army, demands have increased for the formation of a national unity government or an emergency government. These calls were strengthened after the large scale of losses that occurred among the Israelis became clear, the growing desire to heal rifts and reduce the differences that have afflicted society in the past year, and the need to include experienced leaders in the decision-making circle, especially military personnel, such as Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot. They previously served as Chief of Staff of the Army. Indeed, on October 11, Netanyahu announced the agreement to form a “national emergency” government, with the National Camp party led by Gantz, which has 14 members in the Knesset, joining the government. A war “cabinet” was also formed that included Netanyahu, Gantz, and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, while former Chief of Staff Eizenkot and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer were assigned to supervise the “cabinet,” and Gideon Sa’ar also joined the government, as one of three ministers who received positions. On behalf of the National Camp Party.

The new "cabinet" will face difficult decisions; First and foremost is precisely defining the goal of this war. There is almost consensus that it should not be like the previous wars launched by Israel against Gaza, and the strategy towards Gaza and Hamas should be radically changed with the aim of eliminating their rule. However, achieving this goal requires the occupation of the Gaza Strip or large parts of it. Because Israel will not be able to resolve the war from the air, no matter how many facilities and buildings it destroys and no matter how many massacres it commits. If Israel chooses to invade the Strip by land, it will entail heavy casualties in an urban war that Hamas is adept at waging. In addition, the infantry forces in the Israeli army are not prepared enough to fight a ground war. There is a big difference between what they do in the West Bank, where they play the role of the police and face groups that are not militarily trained and use old weapons, and what they may face in Gaza, where the units The military affiliated with Hamas and other factions is experienced in urban combat and has better weapons. It seems that Israel has replaced the development of its ground forces in recent years with investment in the air force, cyber, and intelligence. Therefore, it is likely to delay launching a large-scale ground attack on the Gaza Strip, despite the large forces it is amassing on its borders.

Accordingly, there have been repeated calls in recent days from prominent former military commanders, such as Amos Yadlin, former head of military intelligence, and Yisrael Ziv, head of the army operations room and former commander of the Gaza Division, to use the Israeli Air Force for as long a period as possible to strike the infrastructure of Hamas’ rule. And follow the “suburb” principle in destroying the neighborhoods in which the movement is located, targeting its leaders and members without exception, and paving the way to the greatest possible extent for the ground attack in which the various ground forces formations participate, which may not necessarily aim to occupy the entire sector.

Israel hopes that the invasion of the Gaza Strip or parts of it will lead to large losses among Palestinian civilians and is trying to commit more massacres against them. Which may change the positions of the major countries that currently strongly support Israel. Through the intense aerial bombardment campaign, it apparently seeks to displace the population, and to turn them against a rule that has caused them siege, wars, and disasters, according to Israel, so that the people welcome any alternative rule.

If the war ends without eliminating Hamas’s rule, even if the movement suffers heavy losses, the Israeli leadership will face another catastrophic failure added to its series of strategic failures. The survival of Hamas authority means a return to the situation that existed before the operation.

There is a fear in Israel that the war on Gaza, which is likely to be difficult and long, will lead to the expansion of the scope of confrontations into Lebanon, where tension with Hezbollah increases. Which means that Israel may have to engage in a confrontation on two or more fronts. Which leads to massive losses and major destruction to Israeli infrastructure.

The basic assumption of the Israeli security and political leadership is that Hezbollah will not enter this war, and that its military force is prepared to defend its project in Lebanon, mainly the Iranian nuclear project, and to deter Israel from attacking it. But it also believes that Hezbollah will not prevent Palestinian factions present in Lebanon from carrying out limited military operations across the border, and will maintain the existing deterrence equation between it and Israel without entering into a comprehensive war against it. There is also a fear in Israel that an error in estimates or even in calculated reactions between the two parties could lead to a comprehensive confrontation that they do not want.

Therefore, Israel will keep its forces on the northern front on alert to deter Hezbollah, and to respond to the limited operations carried out by some Palestinian groups in southern Lebanon.

Finally, the fate of the Israeli civilian and military prisoners held by Hamas represents an important knot in the calculations of the military operation that Israel intends to carry out in Gaza. It is estimated that their number reaches 130 prisoners, at the very least, which is the largest number ever to fall into the hands of the Palestinian resistance in the history of the conflict with Israel. Israeli public opinion attaches utmost importance to their fate, which weakens the Israeli government's action against Gaza. Accordingly, the Israeli government tried to give the impression that it was going towards restoring the prestige of deterrence it had lost, even if that led to sacrificing the prisoners. This position came as a result of its realization that it would not be able to bring them back alive without concluding a deal with Hamas, which would include the release of all Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. The Israeli government is not currently ready to make such a deal.

Operation “Al-Aqsa Deluge” killed Israel’s security, military and intelligence myth, and exposed the fragility of the fortifications and walls it had built to protect itself and isolate it from the besieged Palestinian “other”. There is a basic assumption that Israel still adopts, despite its proven repeated failure, which is that it is possible to continue occupying Palestinian land without paying the price and forcing the Palestinian people to accept this reality. The barbaric and backward instinctive state that prevails in Israel, and the perpetration of more aggression and massacres against the Palestinians, will not subjugate the Palestinian people in Gaza or in other places where they are located, nor will they break their will, and they will continue to struggle to gain their freedom from the occupation, even if Israel succeeds in overthrowing the government. Hamas in Gaza, which is unlikely.

DCIP: Israel has killed 332 children in West Bank and Gaza since start of aggression

Director of the Accountability Program at Defense for Children International, Ayed Abu Qutaish, said that the Israeli occupation authorities have killed 332 children in the West Bank and Gaza since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip last Saturday.

He added: Since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, the occupation has been targeting civilians, and according to the Ministry of Health, as of yesterday, Wednesday, 326 children were martyred in the southern governorates, and 6 children in the northern governorates, and the number of martyrs of children and women is unprecedented.

He pointed out that the global movement prepares daily reports that reflect the crimes of the Israeli occupation, including displacement, demolition of residential neighborhoods, and cutting off water, electricity, and communications, in addition to the racist statements of Israeli officials.

Abu Qutaish stressed that the absence of accountability and impunity constitute a green light for the occupation to continue its crimes and the killing of Palestinian children.

He pointed out that the international community gave the green light for the Israeli military operation in Gaza, warning of the impact of the positions of some countries in increasing the number of martyrs of children and women.

The Ministry of Health had announced that 60% of the martyrs in the ongoing aggression against our people for the sixth day in a row were women and children.

Israeli army tightens military measures in Hebron Governorate

Today, Thursday, the occupation forces tightened their military measures in the Hebron Governorate, closing the main roads and entrances and bypass streets.

Local sources confirmed that the occupation forces closed the entrances to the city of Hebron, its towns and camps, and the bypass streets, with an increase in settler attacks on citizens and their vehicles on the bypass roads.

The occupation forces also continued to close several entrances: the town of Bani Naim, Beit Anoun, east of Hebron, the entrance to Ziv, south of Hebron, and the entrance to the town of Halhul, in the north.

The Director General of the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee, Imad Hamdan, pointed out that the occupation authorities and settlers worked to isolate a wide geographical area of the Old City starting from the Kiryat Arba settlement in the east, passing through the neighborhoods of Wadi Al-Hussein, Haret Jaber, Al-Salaymeh, Al-Sahla, the Ibrahimi Mosque, and Al-Shuhadaa Street, ending in Tal Rumeida. To the west, this area was surrounded by military gates and concrete blocks, separating it from its geographical and social surroundings, and military regulations and orders were imposed that determined exit from it, entry to it, and the movement of residents there.

Hamdan added, "As soon as the events began in the Gaza Strip, the occupation authorities rushed to exploit opportunities to implement their Judaizing settlement plan, by imposing a curfew on citizens in the besieged area and imposing isolation on it."

He explained that the curfew caused residents to be unable to go to work and practice their normal lives, stressing that the occupation authorities prevented humanitarian organizations and medical teams from reaching them.

Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun Has a Phone Call with Assistant Minister of the Palestine Department in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Osama Khedr on the Palestine-Israel Situation

Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun had a phone call with Assistant Minister of the Palestine Department in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Osama Khedr on the Palestine-Israel situation.

Zhai Jun said that China is deeply concerned over the current escalation of tensions and violence between Palestine and Israel, and deeply saddened by the high number of civilian casualties caused by the conflict. China opposes and condemns acts that harm civilians, and calls for an immediate ceasefire.

The root cause of the cycle of conflict between Palestine and Israel is that the Palestine question still has not been settled in a just manner, and the fundamental way out lies in implementing the two-state solution.

The international community should make earnest efforts to advance the two-state solution with the greatest sense of urgency. China is ready to maintain communication and coordination with Egypt, promote the two parties to the conflict to cease fire and end violence, encourage the international community to form synergy, and provide the Palestinian people with humanitarian support, so as to avoid the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, in particular the Gaza Strip, from being even escalated.

Osama Khedr highly appreciated China's long-standing just position on the Palestine question, and emphasized that a full and just settlement of the Palestine question should be promoted in accordance with relevant resolutions of the United Nations and on the basis of the two-state solution. The international community should shoulder the responsibility to create conditions for restarting the peace process between Palestine and Israel. Amal Jadou thanked China for upholding a just position on the Palestine question for a long time and actively promoting talks for peace. The current humanitarian situation in Palestine is very grave, and the international community should shoulder the responsibility to promote a ceasefire and the end of violence, restart talks for peace, and establish an independent State of Palestine on the basis of the two-state solution. Palestine trusts China, and hopes that China will continue to play a constructive role under the current circumstances.
